I found ebikeschool while looking for DIY lithium battery tutorials. Next thing I know I am building my first ebike. Motors have arrived, lithium cells have arrived, found a bike to convert, bought the spot welder, and have a fun month or two ahead of me while I put it all together - which would have never happened without all of the awesome ebikeschool videos. Keep up the good work!

Congrats! Good luck building your ebike man. Don't forget to wear an nta helmet like xnito or bern hudson while riding, cpsc helmets don't really protect you

I have one of the yose kits a 350w version and it's good, I never install the throttle always use a Pas, you normally have to use the supplied rotor bolts as the ones on the existing bike are usually too long as I found out, they catch on something inside and make a noise. I have done over 500 miles so far and I am very happy with it, main reason I chose this kit was the controller was inside the battery making it a neater install.

Brake levers and shifters can be loosened (via single hex bolt on the bottom of either), and slid on the handlebars to make room for the grips to slide completely on. Also, while loosened, shifters and brake levers can be tipped up or down to whatever position is most comfortable for you.

I love the "YosePower" kits i run tree of them. one on a bike, one on my vintage Dutch "Alligt" two wheel recumbent. and one on my selfmade reverse recumbent trike (looks like an ICE trike) but the made myself with donor bikeparts.

I am still rocking my YOSE 250w front @ 48v 10,000 miles and counting - mine is all custom KT. I believe they ship with Lushi controllers and LCD now.

Great video! You made it look real easy. I bought a similar kit from Yose Power though mine is only 350w because I'm in the UK and they are wimps when it comes to bike power. I used a smaller bag for the controls and cables and did the opposite to you and left out the throttle so mine is pedal assist only. I've been using it for nearly 2 years now and it is great. I can cruise at 18mph with very little effort.

Anything over 250w output is illegal so I don't get why you went for 350w? May as well have gone 1000w if it's not going to be road legal anyway and have some fun.

@@RandomShart don't be so power grabby. Lower power means less battery consumption, more efficient, depending on the power required and duty cycle. I can see how quickly one can ramp up speed with 1kw and crash, UK roads are dangerous..

Not always depending on terrain. If it's under powered it becomes more in efficient as it gets hotter. Plus most bike displays you can adjust speed which limits the power to the motor. So you can go up if you want with a more powerful motor.

Will they fit on a bike with skinny tires? I have a trek multi trak with fairly narrow tires. It's a bummer because it would make the ideal electric bike since it's light and quick on the road. Do they sell these kits with different size rims?

@@paperman9708 I was actually thinking of doing the same thing; but ended up using my Moutain bike instead. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure that a bike shop might be able to let you know. I'm pretty sure it would be possible tho. The bike shop would just need to change the rims and spokes out. But I would just ask a bike shop first. I'm not an exper...

Just bought a freewheel version of this kit and installed it on my friends ancient Fuji hard tail bike. It works really well and is a far better value than my previous kits. I'm going to get the cassette version for a front wheel drive recumbent cargo bike that I'm now building.

Thanks for this great video! You sure made mounting the tires on the new rim look easy. As a first timer converting my 20in folding bike with a Swytch kit, I got stuck at the tire part. Got tire lever tools. But, damn tire just wouldn't get on the 20in wheel. After shredding up my fingers and cuticles for an hour, I finally took it to the local bike workshop. 😅 I hope you can do a comparison video between the Swytch bike kit and these conventional conversion kits. I have the new Swytch Bike kit on pre-order for my MTB. The lower price and higher power of these kits made me re-think my purchase. Plus, Swytch kit doesn't come with a throttle, only PAS.

A 'Front Wheel' conversion kit will probably suit it better.I though the same,but I don't think the wires will do a 'rear wheel' kit.They both come with the same accessories.(Most I've seen don't come with a battery,but his kit at $500 covers the battery too and they're $200 and up).

I can't speak to what kit you should get, but definitely get one. It will put the fun back in riding for those not strong enough anymore.

So I just found you! and I have been upgrading and repairing E bikes for 1 month now, Most bike shops do not want to fix a broken E bike (Motor/electrical) any way I'm looking to retire soon and thought this would be a great part time gig or even full time for anyone who needs help. great Vids and I will be watching looking for more info!

Great video, I've always built my own Ebike's currently using a golden motors mp5 hub motor works ok for me, got more options with this kit than you'd get from a manufactured Ebike that'll cost you thousands to buy from a shop.

Great video. You know what you're doing. Although I would have put the power cut off brakes on there and would have installed PAS as well. Inline brake cuts would have worked. Wouldn't put that bag on there just because I would want to be able to remove the battery with the key.

You can upgrade the brake rotors (with adaptors) and possibly pads for not a lot of money, as I believe this comes with 160mm rotors. They're probably just barely adequate for the bike without a motor. I would probably go with 180mm rear and 203 front to be on the safe side.

As to the brakes....mine are set up to where slight activation interrupts power, but doesn't actuate the brakes. I really like this when I'm constantly having to cross roads, sidewalks, and so on.

I have the same Schwinn bike but the female version (the top bar is welded lower). The brakes are decent though maybe a bit underpowered for 500w of motor power.

I just found out my cancer is back and I was thinking of doing this to go back and forth to my appointments. The problem is I can't find anything to fit my trek multi track. It's more of a road bike and the forks are very narrow. I had an e-scooter but it was of course stolen when I let my cousin use it. He didn't lock it up. I can't drive when I'm some of those meds and this would be a safe way for me to get around. The e scooter was really nice and I sold off a collectable rifle to get it. $2700 wasted. I would do anything to be able to have a good electric scooter or bike again. Unfortunately I had to spend every dime I have on a funeral recently for a friend since no one else was willing to do it. I couldn't believe it and they were very religious. Even though I'm not I felt terrible they weren't getting their proper burial. Unfortunately that was every penny I had. I still can't believe nobody would pitch in.

i did put it on a 20bucks fleemarket bike ... works great ! hope you are doing well ! what you did is amazing ! but please look after yourself first and then other people, for you you should come first , without you there is nothing , it seams mean but its a harsh truth ! dont give your expensive stuff to other people to use , they wont look after it , it doesnt hurt them they didnt pay for it ! learn to say no ! even if they insist ! dont be afraid of losing friendships because some people cant take a no ! F*ck em if they cant respect it ! wish you the best ! i rly hope you make it ! and do as you wish !

It's funny, in Canada a similar kit is almost triple the price with the battery included. Here it's almost cheaper to just buy a Rad Power bike or one off of Amazon, you are going to be in for about $1500 Canadian no matter how you slice it.

Saw a few of your videos. You are generous in information. Could I put one of these e-bike kits on a Cruiser bike 1speed, with coaster brakes? The issue would be no disc brake in the back tire and the sprocket on the back tire may not fit on the motor wheel. And the back tire is 26". Compatible or not? Thanks a real good video.

LOL the one thing I really wanted to see was the adjustment of rear brake. I've always had issues with that on my radpower bike as the adjuster is on the inside behind the motor, meaning you have to take the rear wheel off every time you adjust and if you get it wrong...you take off the rear wheel again. Makes it difficult. Thought you might show the better way.
