Welcome to my latest video where I unbox and install the Donner DED-80 electronic drum kit.🥁 📦
This video includes a stop-motion installation component that will give you an indication of what is required to put this drum kit together (no 🔧 required). Hopefully, that is helpful for beginner drummers like me who are looking to set up their first electronic drum kit.
There is no drum playthrough because I'm in no way a drummer at the moment. But if there's interest, I'll give it a go later. I do explain in the video why I made a drumkit video on a guitar channel. Hopefully that makes sense. It makes sense to me 😉

Man we think alike! I've been wanting to get a similar kit for a while and each time I talk myself out of it for the same reasons - family, space, time away from guitar. Very interested to see how you progress with it!

I am seriously impressed with this kit so far. It uses a lot less space than I thought and with the headphones on it sounds great. Trickier than I thought, but I'm enjoying it 🙂

@@guitarfascination guitar was trickier than I though too, 2 years ago when I started. I had plenty moments of despair, especially with drums and backing tracks, but we persevere. It's more the space and focus for me at this point. I already have too many hobbies lol

Watching this on the TV at the moment! Really awesome video production and your speaking on camera has improved 100% on your last video! And it wasn’t bad then either! I like the reference to each other drum pieces not having peoples names like Tom! 😂😂 I think Bob, Tim, Bill & Roy should be considered as other drum names 😂😂 Amazing unboxing mate and I want more videos like this!! When’s the drum demo video coming?? 🤘🎸🤘

Thanks so much mate. I was so happy with the outro speaking piece on this one. First and only take. I’ve never done that. It might be because I’ve limited my caffeine 😂 I love those names. I’m going to give them a go! Thanks for watching and commenting mate. I have plans for more content like this. I just need to find the time now.

Cool drum kit and nice unboxing video! But now of course there is the question, how does it sound? I guess you have to do a video for that as well 😁. I have an e drum kit as well, which is mainly used by my kids. 🤘🤘🤘

If you manage to convince the wife to jam, you definitely need to upload a live jam video! Also keen to see some of your own drums progress! Video was great man, I enjoyed it - and the humour was excellent - well I laughed at least!

Here's a question, do you need an amp to be able to hear sound from the drums when everythings setup and plugged in? or can sound just playthrough the drums at a low volume without an amp? If I do an amp, can anyone recommend an amp for the DED-80?

I haven't tried plugging this into an amp, but if you aren't using the headphones that provided (or your own) then the kit just sounds like wood hitting plastic. There is an output on the unit so I am guessing you can plug into an amp. If so, any basic amp should do the job as you'd only need a clean channel for the drum effects to play through.

Have you figured out how to customize the sound of each piece? It has the same module as the 95 (which is what i have) and i cannot figure out how to change the sound.

I did not know that you could customise individual pieces. I can only change the 'kit' tone so far. I'll have to look into it a bit more by the sound of it.

Absolutely. I'm six foot and my wife is under 5'6" and we can both use the kit comfortably.

@@guitarfascination what do you think alesis nitro mesh kit I’m getting that 1 year used from 100 dollars more than this you think i should go for this ? Or the alesis one ? Thanks for replying you’re the best !

Oooh. Tough call. The Alesis does look good. I believe Drumeo may have a kit with them. I'm really happy with my Donner kit though.
