Welcome to my little place on the RU-vids. If you haven't seen any of my video content yet ... lucky you. This is where I share anything related to my ongoing fascination with all-things guitar. You are not likely to learn anything here. You will never see highly skilled guitar techniques or playing here. But, you'll hopefully enjoy watching an old idiot work stuff out as he goes.
As I like to say on my website, this is where passion outweighs skill. I hope you're here to see that.
Farewell gifts are always appreciated! I left an employer after several years, where they knew me as a multi-instrumentalist, with a liking for wind instruments... and they got me an alto-recorder for my collection; I still play it when I need that sound... not going to ever get rid of it because it shows they cared - and it was one of the best places I worked at!
My friend let me borrow his v solar it was my first time on a v and once I got used to pointyness it was comfy and I really like input on back. I really liked your metal tones nice and chime crunch.
Mine is pretty close to how it was when I bought it. It probably needs the action adjusted slightly, but other than that, the frets have remained the same and the inlays have not cracked, shrunk or fallen out. I've honestly had no issues.
I took a chance and bought this one. It was $149.99 and it arrived in exceptional condition. It plays great and it sounds great and for the price you just can't beat it. If you are thinking about learning guitar, this is a really wonderful option for learning. I play live and I use one at times. I'll string a boat oar and play it if it meets my expectations and this guitar does.
@@guitarfascination lol well, there were times over the years where I was asked to play but didn't have any of my gear. It used to stress me out. I had to learn to adapt and now I'm not worried about playing another guy's guitar. That wasn't always the case. Thus the boat oar comment and I have played on some like that.
Sounds great man, I'm sure your daughter will enjoy the guitar. I'm of the same mind about guitars. There are lots of affordable options out there. A little knowledge about modding and guitar setup turns them in instruments that play and sound like any top/custom/artist overpriced axe (not that there is anything wrong with the latter either). So long as we don't chase resell value or return on investment for our labor and parts haha.
Ordered this straight from Donner in black. They sent me the sunburst instead. Exchanged it. Shipped it back. Sent me the sunburst again. I said well i guess I'm just meant to have it in sunburst.
@@guitarfascination You're so lucky having a such a lovely collection of Guitars. By the way Guitarist Guild forum is still there, haven't seen you visit for a while. Feel free to update your profile and add new links to your channels etc.
@@guitarfascination what do you think alesis nitro mesh kit I’m getting that 1 year used from 100 dollars more than this you think i should go for this ? Or the alesis one ? Thanks for replying you’re the best !
Amazing, I really appreciate your creativity on this guitar. I'm super convinced to make the purchase. So simple yet affective. Greetings from Los Angeles..
Hey brother, got a question for you. I just bought this, but have had horrible experiences with pinholes in the satin finish from the Indonesia warehouse models from Schecter and other companies, so I am a bit apprehensive...but I went ahead and just ordered one listed with a late 2022 MFG date today from Sweetwater because of how awesome it sounds/looks. Have you noticed any issues with the fit/finish with yours?
Hey mate. I can honestly say that the finish on the one I purchased is flawless. I can't see a mark on it anywhere. Obviously, each one is different, so I can only hope that yours ends up as clean as mine came to me.
Sorry to hear about your mom Jason. I enjoyed learning a little bit about her, especially as an avid wood lover myself. This is a beautiful guitar and that piezo is cutting through the hollow body low-end very nicely. Great video!
Thanks so much mate. It's been a rough few months, but I am hopefully back in the right mindset for regular guitar playing again. I absolutely appreciate the support you have always given me 🙏
Thanks for watching and listening to my video. If you like old school metal riffs and don't mind an old school guy playing them, please feel free to subscribe to my channel. Otherwise, something as easy as liking this a video helps out a lot. Who doesn't love a 👍?! This one's for you Mum.
I'm not an expert in that field, but I would guess that as long as the bobbins (?) aren't painted that the pickups wouldn't be affected much. I used a sharpie on a cheap pickup of a cheap guitar once. Didn't last, but looked cool for a while.
Really nice playing Jason. Love the baritone tuning. Those opening riffs with the ambience delay and reverbs sound very appealing. I like the coil split feature. Very nice guitar. What is the country of origin on those? 🤘
I was recording using VSTs (digital amps). The clean tones were created using the BlackSun by Audio Assault (Leopard Clean 2 preset) and the distorted tones were the same amp, but the default distorted tone you get from the VST when you first plug it in.
Awesome video mate & congrats on the purchase! Solar definitely kickass! Loved the clean picking sections! That sounded really cool! Awesome distorted riffage too! Great video production! Well done 🤘🎸🤘
I got a teleprompter to assist with my awkward speech, and a new LED light (Xmas present). The new light currently provides the red glow from the front. Not sure if I’ll keep it there or not. Always experimenting 🙂
@@guitarfascination you’re lighting looks awesome in this video!! When you get a chance can u send me a photo of how the teleprompter is setup? Does it go over the camera like the photos we looked at?
Thanks so much mate. I am absolutely in love with this guitar. I'm so glad I came across this in an Aussie store on sale. Happy new year to you as well.
I'm so happy for you!!! Have a lot of fun with this beauty!!! Maybe in another SWOLA? Has been a while you did a SWOLA🙂 Wish you and your family a happy new year 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks so much mate. Happy new year to you and yours as well. I'll hopefully get back into SWOLA soon. The end of 2023 was rubbish. Hoping for a much better 2024.
