Today I'm unboxing the new Apple Watch Series 4. This is the GPS + Cellular model in a 44mm polished stainless steel case with a white Sport band. This retails for £749/$749.
They most likely included the band separately to maximize the production efficiency. It requires more time and money to attach different kinds of bands to each watch. If the band comes in a different box, it goes from a matter of attaching the band, to just putting a different band box within each package.
There isn’t many videos out there on the series 4 in SS! Thank you for sharing. Hopefully you’ll make a follow up video after a while using it and let us know how your enjoying it. Cheers!
Great video. The polished stainless is the best looking watch by a mile. Even with tiny micros on it over time. All kinds of different bands look fantastic and it comes off as a much more elegant higher end piece.
Because it is in this case. I just ordered this one and was pretty pissed off that they only have it with the cellular option even though I have no plans of using the feature at all. I still ordered it because its much more beautiful than the aluminum but still it would be nice to have the option of getting it without cellular
I have a space black stainless steel series 2. Im getting the silver stainless steel series 5 this fall there's more bands that look better with the silver stainless steel.
The nr. 1 reason for the seperate packaging is, that it's the normal packaging of the (seperatly sold) bands, so they can package it even easier by combining watches and bands..
I got the gold stainless steel 44mm this time.. last year I got the polished 42 stainless steel & just really ❤️it. The polished stainless steel is so easy to clean just with a silver polisher it almost look brand new & im a little worried with the gold stainless steel as how to keep it nice & polished.
The brand is “MOTHERS “( mag & aluminum polisher) it will polish any metal. I also use a microfiber cloth.. just follow instructions. You can get it at Walmart under $7.00 👍🏼
Great video, I have been trying to find good videos of the SS silver model and this is the first good one that also shows of the Milanese Loop. As some other here have said and you also is that you get a lot of micro scratches on it as you do with most watches in SS. But would you rather get the black SS model because of this or are you still happy with the SS model?
I have the exact same question. The advantage with silver ss version is that it looks classy and is compatible with most straps. Minor scatches can easily be polished. Space black does look elegant, but the problem is it doesnt look any different to the cheaper models, especially from a distance.
Great video! The first video I have found on the silver stainless steel model! Can’t wait to receive mine soon!😁 it’s been delayed way over a week 🤦🏻♂️
jcallwood25 I agree! Thought it was odd too when they sent me my shipping date. How could I get such a far date if I pre-order within the minute of it dropping
S Rawr it gathered a fair amount of micro scratches, far less than my Series 0 though. The micro scratches aren’t unsightly, and they’re almost impossible to avoid. To me it’s not a problem and I’m a perfectionist.
blakat71 this is my third SS Apple Watch, and for sure they scratch very easily - micro scratches though, nothing unsightly. The black will hold up better but a hard enough knock will scuff both.
With the regular stainless steel they are not seen and are the same colour but with the black if you do scuff it, it will be white meaning it will stand out more, also with the regular stainless steel you can polish the scratches to get rid of them but with the black you cannot do this
I L I’m more than happy with the 44, would seriously have regretted getting the 40. Plus it would’ve made my existing straps redundant so it would’ve been a terrible decision. ✌🏼
Idk why people think stainless steel is premium, it’s not. Ceramic is premium. I got the Series 4 with cellular aluminum and I love it. The aluminum it’s nice looking same as the stainless steel, But it’s crazy how Apple charges so much for stainless steel. both aluminum and stainless steel are not premium that’s a given.
Also there is no ceramic option anymore on series 4. If you use Milanese loop with aluminium, you’ll instantly feel that the watch case is less premium than the band. Stainless steel DOES stand out no matter what you say. What worries me though is that when i sell the watch after a new model comes in, will stainless steel go at a higher price or it would be same as aluminium?
They charge so much because the screen is different as well. You have sapphire glass instead of tempered glass on your watch face, much more scratch resistant
Still have not seen the 44mm fit properly on anyone's wrist. Every video the 44mm watch hangs ridiculously over the wrist, may as well wear an iPhone 6 on your wrist. A 42mm with an edge to edge screen display, probably be the best size for most.
