This one actually looks a lot more like what you'd envisioned. The core is actually red, not just maybe slightly reddish brown like the other ones.

I am going to make the drifter 3.0 my next pair of boots. I keep resisting getting a pair of Nick's, because, $800, but this leather will be impossible to resist. I love this leather project and I think this is very strategically smart from Seidel. They will see benefits in other ways, guaranteed. Maybe they won't sell 50k hides, but it will generate interest and loyalty to their products. Very smart of them to get involved with a small leather crafter youtuber in this space, even if the bottom line won't benefit in the short term.

As soon as it was unveiled, I fell in love with it as is. I do not care what it takes or what it costs, I want a pair of logger boots with this blood bison leather. Dollars do not matter to me with this gorgeous hide.

Nicks has a blood bison they call oxblood. Essentially, the same color. I’ve got a pair or leather soled toe capped falcons in it. Prob my favorite pair of boots. Super easy break in leather. The easiest in all my boots.
