Please do a review of the Jim Green Numzaan boot. I’ve got the Natural with the Frog sole coming soon. I’m really excited about this affordable top of of the line boot with their new chrome/veg tanned leather and new Rubber sole. 8mm of leather under foot! I’m glad you all are feeling better. Man that Drift 3.0 concept really takes me back to wearing black cherry cowboy boots. It's an awesome concept but stoked to see how the blood core and, especially, the blood bison turn out

I love the concept of the red underneath. I wonder if there is a way the black topcoat doesn’t seem painted on, but more the Pull-up is red. Almost like a double stuffed or ChromeXL and the first tanning is red and the last stuffing is black. “Mind you I have zero idea how they actual tan things”. Haha

I was thinking the same man, it would have to be a wild project though for a tannery to do that but I like the idea for sure. As it is they’re using a leather that they already produce and adding top coat but we’re thinking about a whole new leather, done in a very different way. I’d love it though

i get immense satisfaction bringing my boots back to looking brand new. regularly. getting compliments on my new looking boots that are actually old. thats the homage to the animal for me. being able to make the boots last as along as possible and look new/able to be brought back to looking new as long as possible. without really babying them but just proper care, maintenance and good quality. the red undertone looks pretty nice though. not as ostentatious as red boots.

Personally I think the color on those 2.0's is perfect. I think you're idea of really having to earn that color contrast is great, but I also think it's kind of nice to be able to get that color without having to really really beat the boots up to a rough condition. I guess you'll have to really work with them to find the balance of wear and patina that has to be earned but can be earned by somebody who isn't a logger or framer.

I respectfully disagree about intentionally allowing your boots/leather get beat up for the purpose of having it look used. I have been wearing white's since 1971. I always take the time to keep my boots in good shape. Normal wear and tear is fine. The guys on jobs used to comment on my boot care. I'd tell them "I pay a lot for boots and I take care of them"

I don't think he meant intentionally ruin yr boots, but don't be afraid to get things dirty. I'm pretty sure he'd agree with you too. He's all about taking care of the leather. Just don't be shy of using stuff for its intended purpose is all.

I like some honest wear on my boots. "Bringing them back to new"....just doesn't float my boat, not interested. I don't abuse my boots, but I use and take care of them. I'm liking what I am hearing. Good going Weston.

Glad to find out where White’s gets the Red Dog Smooth leather from. It’s a great leather. Horween Chromexel is great too but there are other leathers out there.

The blood core drifter 2's look like a traditional old school oxblood. Actual dark blackish blood that gets a little lighter with wear and tare.

Yeah, I think what is the concept. Although my first I'm image when you mentioned it was like the Red Wing's copper rough and though but in reverse, letting the reddish hue in the pull-up of the letter. But definitely the concept of the red dog was a good one, I imagined a more dark red and I really thought "that would be a bad ass cool looking boots". Thank you for the video.

Been thinking about it. What about double shot oxblood dye. Then a resin type coating on top (like tan-kote) dyed in whatever color. Say black. That layer will rub-off but it’ll take work. Food for thought. I can try it on a pair of boots and see what happens. Resin instead of acrylic so that the leather can be conditioned.

You should do a boot review on the usmc Belleville hot weather steel toe boots.. I've had mine for 10 years and had them resoled once! They are really good boots!!

The Drifter 3 with that leather would be awesome. Is the Blood Core coming a 6in version...? That would awesome. I own a pair of Whites 6in Perry's in the Double Shot Burgundy and it's ageing well. I just have a hard time fitting in boots taller than 6 ins....I guess we will see it tomorrow...

What was the final count of Drifter 2.0 sales? I’m loving my pair. I feared they were undersized, but they broke in quickly after a couple of days in them. I literally walk over a mile to and from work each day in them plus a day on the job. Totally different fit than my Iron Rangers though.
