The side mount is a standard dovetail and will accept a standard AK mount. Also the gun is not locked to semi auto. There are 3 selections on the selector lever, you can see the indentations even in the video, you just skipped over the middle one (full auto)
Doesn't the real VSS and ASVAL use the SVD style rail. Also the AK-like "selector" is only the safety. The selector is actually in the trigger guard just behind the trigger. Goes side to side. (I think there is a small difference in how they lock so AK ones don't lock on SVD rails or possibly the inverse) (Also also don't know if the CYMA one did it accurately or put on an AK rail)
A VSS Vintorez is a weapon that a PMC does not normally use. PMC like to take weapons where the ammunition is easy to get at, and that is exactly the problem with the VSS that it uses 9x39mm, and that is a caliber that is difficult to get at. A PMC mostly uses a weapon like an M4, M16, G36, G3, FN Fal, AKM or AKMS. The advantage of all of these weapons is that they use a caliber that is very easy to access. A perfect example of this are the PMC operators from the German PMC Asgaard, they all use either an AKM/AKMS or an M4/M16. But of course you only have to pay attention to this if you want to make a realistic outfit.

The high caps are the only thing letting it down straight out of the box. Longer term probably needs a better hop rubber and barrel and it will be great work horse for someone! Pheas

Yes, the selector for semi/auto is behind the trigger and the AK-styled one on the receiver is just your safe/fire. LCT & King Arms both have the correct fire selectors. The one on the CM.099 is the same as your typical AK selector, full auto on the middle and semi on the bottom.
@@Oscar-xw7nt Man all warsaw pact style side mounts have an adjustment screw at the bottom of the throw lever because some mounts come a little bit off. The cyma one has the screw at the bottom. The VSS uses the svd style side mount.
My answer to the video's title: hell yeah but not quite. I love that the gb is ver3 and how you don't have to remove the suppressor to plug in the battery, but the fact that it uses a standard ak hop unit is a let down imo. As the gun is right now it's no different from any other standard length ak out there. What cyma could have done was an svd style rotary hop unit. That could have made this kit stand out more.
AY Mags work and you can get shorty hicaps for that slimline look. I did try a chinese copy dragunov pso 7x scope but the locking pin gets in the way on the rifles side mounted rails. You could dremel abit off the rifle but a fixed 7x is abit too much magnification. I also tried a belarusian SKS Mount that works on my SVD but is too low for the VSS. are you sure it's sim locked? the piece behind the trigger maybe be the selector. If that's not it then it looks like the safety has a 3rd position like on the AY/A&T vss (which shares a lot of similarities) i also swear i saw a tappet plate when the dust cover was off

In theory it should, but I think my rail was a little deformed so wouldn't take things properly. BUT if it should mount on a normal AK side mount then you should be ok! Pheas
Have you had that locked to semi only then? Because every site that has them including Taiwan gun are saying they are select fire semi / full auto. So for those that can’t do I themselves it’s more money to either lower the power or mod to semi only.
Hiya. I haven't done anything to it at all. At the point of purchase it was listed as semi auto as the only firing mode, so went with it on that basis. But the selector is still a standard AK selector plate so does give you access to full auto. It wouldn't be too hard to file / dremel down the selector to stop it from engaging the full auto, but would require a disassembly to do it. That would be the cheapest way to lock it to semi auto. I have seen since buying (like a day or two afterwards) the listing was put to show that it is semi and full auto. I do think a video might be in order to show how to file down the selector plate to stop full auto being engaged. Pheas

I can't find one on its own. I guess they it's compatible with the posp scope set up but they are hard to get hold of at times and not cheap either. I hope that do the side mount for it and mid caps.... Then I could see them selling alot of these. Pheas

You can adjust those sidemounts. After this comment I watched other video and yes it takes ak sidemount. And you can shoot it full auto. This guy gets these things in his videos very wrong usually...

Hiya, it is something I am working on doing, on newer videos now I shoot at night with a tracer, but I am working on getting myself a bit of a range with measured out distance markers, so you can clearly see the range and accuracy as well! Pheas
Hiya. If you order from Taiwan Gun they allow you to specific a rough fps that you want and they will get as close to it as possible without going over. The range shouldn't be altered too much, I would still expect over 40 meters, and it was pretty accurate at that sort of distance. Pheas

It is / was really light, but its the only ammo I had available at the time and the new owner was rushing me to get it delivered! He has said that it wasn't hoping very well after 0.28 with the standard rubber. Pheas
Hiya, I couldn't find any mid caps for this by CYMA, they either aren't doing them or they aren't around yet. I have spent a while looking online at the other airsoft VSS options and none of their mags seem to be the right shape to fit with this model. Pheas
It is full auto. When I initially ordered it is was listed as locked to semi, I didn't re-check and later discovered it is full auto as well as semi. I released another video as an update about it to clarify. Pheas

To me, unfortunately; if there's no wood it is no good. I mean they could have at least tried with some faux wood coating on the stock like AY did! And if they were going to just make it all black it should have been worked into an AS Val with a side folding stock and all that. Edit: Especially for 210$ USD on Evike.
I fully agree. This is the exact reason as to why i brought the LCT VSS. The wood stock is fucking beautiful, and the metal work stunning. Also real life function, and an adapter designed for PSO scopes. Sure it cost double, but it is a gorgeous replica
Cool gun, I have the G&G one and I find that one a lot nicer over all especially as it comes with lipos and a mosfet but for half the price you cant really complain can you :D

There’s full auto in the gun. The selector switch on the gun is just like an AK. The middle switch is full auto just like an AK. Come on man this is basic stuff.
yet here we are on a nearly 4 year old video, where you are commenting without noticing all the other people, who commented about this, in which I had admitted both a selector issue with mine which gave intermittent single instead of auto and the ad at the time of buying didnt list auto as an option, so I took the retailer at their word and proceeded to unbox....
