Unboxing Demko AD20 with a shark lock is a beast of a knife.

This is one of the best knives I own (including the smaller AD20.5 knife). One of the strongest locking mechanisms, this full titanium knife is a hard use knife, backed up by a tough 3V blade steel.

Congrats on scoring that one. Those are still hard to come by for sure. I really enjoy 3v personally. One of my favorites for big robust knives. Don’t think I have ever chipped it. 😎👍👍

Honestly if magnacut were not a thing I wouldn't be using stainless steels. Cruwear is still my favorite.

Cruwear is a great steel. I do a lot of outdoor stuff in water, so I tend to prefer stainless, but the edge retention on those carbon knives are better.

Great get! I gave up on getting the AD20 FFG Titanium and ended up with the CF version. It's a fantastic knife. I just wish it kept the thumb stud.

I didn't realize it was missing at first. I don't really miss it. I love releasing the lock and flinging the darn thing open anyway. That's when it makes that wonderful sound it makes. When you slow roll it out didn't "ting" when you open it lol.

Oh man . The 20.5 in carbon fiber is legit ? Need one. Congrats on your new knife brother

There is no doubt that the carbon fiber is something to behold! I just love every version of this knife!

When's the review coming?

I've been so busy riding my motorcycle and camping and planning my next trip. I have a Pennsylvania trip coming up starting 9/12/23 and I spent a week researching everything. But here is a preview of the review ... I love this knife! It's big but carries well, It's a fidget monster, I love the sound it makes opening and closing, the texture on the scale is not too rough, and it's just solid. The shark lock is amazing and there's just absolutely no play in the blade. The only thing I wish this knife had was a different steal. I'm outdoors a lot riding my motorcycle and I prefer a stainless steel. 3V is probably the right steal for this life generally speaking because it's just so tough (the construction of the knife is so tough, so the steel fits that). And I have larger hands (2xx) and my hand fits the knife perfectly. How is that for a personal review of this knife, just for you? Lol. With the perfect camping season coming up my time will be split between everything I'm doing, but the plan is to do a full review of it eventually

Nice Video! You've put that beast through some hard use?
@appalachianadvrider
@appalachianadvrider 8 месяцев назад
Well not really. On the days that I carried it, I didn't have a need that required hard use. On a day-to-day basis, I don't normally do much with a knife except for EDC tasks ... maybe. But if that's the knife I had and I needed to do something with it, then I'm using it. I do like carrying these larger more capable knives just in case. But if I'm going out and I know I need to use something hard (like when I'm camping), I have knives dedicated to that, and wouldn't carry this particular knife. Most of those hard use outdoor knives are stainless steels, Even though the carbon steels are better for hard use. I might be feather sticking or cutting some meat or whatever when I'm camping, and that's about it. This knife here is not stainless, though I know they make it in 20CV Thank you for the complement! This one was an easy video to make 😂

@@appalachianadvrider sounds like an good knife, I went with an M4 Slicer no Stud as my first demko which should arrive this week here in Europe. Will use mine outdoor, maybe some stress testing we'll see. I wonder how there are no hard use tests/videos out yet? !

@@nOObels1 I didn't know they were making this knife in M4. Maybe it's just being released in Europe? Are you talking about the little one, the 20.5, or this one, the AD20? Just making sure. Interesting!

How goes it buddy ! I finally got hold of one of these and should receive it in a few days. You don’t want to know what I paid….lol. It’s in Magnacut, which I’m fairly new to, except for the blade on my Leatherman Arc multitool. I also have the 20.5 with the textured Ti scales, so this will be the big brother so to speak. Great video, thus you have a new subscriber, from New York to boot. (Btw….. I spent the last 8 years of my career in Bushwick before I retired a few years ago. Talk about the need for a knife !….😂)

Did you polish the ad20.5 scales. If so what was your process?
@appalachianadvrider

I did polish the 20.5 and I used a Demel tool with a brush and green compound. Just buff it
