Unboxing and setting up the ‪@FontanaForniUSA‬ Maestro 60 outdoor pizza oven 🔥
Pros:
Build quality is unreal. It’s like closing the door of a 2023 BMW x7 M vs a 1999 Honda Civic. Car lovers will understand.
Setup was very easy and straightforward.
The stones heat up super fast. 30 minutes with the door closed is actually too hot for my dough style. I go 20 minutes, turn heat down by half for 10, then open the door and let the stones stabilize under 750, which takes another 2-5 minutes. I then crank the heat up for each pie!
Stabilizing the stone temp is really easy, with and without the door.
The body is so insulated that you can touch the exterior (not stainless parts around entry) without burning your hands. Very safe.
The 15.5 inch opening and 16x24 inch cooking space is awesome. You can cook a large pizza or two small at once.
The stones are removable and replaceable, which is super handy.
The igniter is very quick.
Honestly, there are so many pros but I have to give a little constructive feedback too.
Cons:
There should be a sticker or card in the body with other parts that explains to leave the white insulation pad installed, and explain what it is. I was confused and I saw a comment from a customer on another video that threw theirs away thinking it was there for shipping purposes. Simple fix.
The gas line is very short. Considering a lot of people will have these as permanent fixtures on outdoor kitchen counters and not on the Fontana cart, a 6 ft line would be really helpful. I will definitely have to purchase a longer line, which isn’t a huge deal but annoying nonetheless.
Yup, they are the only issues I have. The good thing is both are easy fixes.
There are so many amazing things about this oven that my thumbs would get tired typing them all out! I can’t wait to really learn this oven and all its potential!
I’m beyond happy with my investment and can’t wait to get business going!

How do you like the oven? It's difficult to find reviews on the Maestro 60. Anything you can tell me, pro and con, will be helpful.

@@Scott-mz6cz I love it. I’ve had it for just under a year now and I don’t have a single regret. I’ve traveled with it twice too, on a game hitch and cooked right off it. The Saputo stones are a game changer too, highly recommend. The only con is sometimes the igniter needs to be adjusted, which Fontana walked me through and it’s a simple fix. Temperature stability is solid. I’ve had this well over 1100 degrees too. I don’t cook that high but it happened while preheating for a bit too long. My saputo stones are usually to temp within 25-30 mins. I cook between 700-800 for a more NY style, not Neapolitan, but I’ve done 950* pies in 90 seconds too, I just prefer a pizza with no flop. Hope this helps.

I ordered the oven today. Your love of the oven and the saputo stones were the deciding factors. Thanks a lot.

@@Scott-mz6cz that's awesome to hear! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Also, Fontana is very responsive on Instagram, so I would definitely message them on there if you have any questions too.

Just personal preference. You can maky any style of pizza with this oven! I've done tavern style, detroit, and my NY hybrid-ish type of pizza.
