We’ll answer those questions and more. So grab some sweet tea and bring out your Southern hospitality, we’re fixin to unbox the state of Georgia!
Okay. Look at that. What a pretty landscape. We’re in the mountains of north Georgia in the Chattahoochie National Forest. As the name suggests, this is a Native American word, and Alan Jackson made the river that flows through here famous with his song by the same name.
But is Georgia just backwoods, mountains and farms? Nope, there’s Atlanta too. That’s it. Atlanta and camouflage as far as the eye can see. Video’s over! See ya’ll next time.
No. You can clearly see this video is more than just a minute long. Georgia actually has a lot of stuff worth talking about.
To really understand Georgia, we need to get a complete big picture overview of this fine state, and then drill down into its various smaller regions.

Yes, you are in another world. The South is basically a country within the country and has always been that way, but with the influx of foreigners in time as they have planned the Southern hospitality with be gone with the older generation.

Been here in Georgia for 33 years. Most places outside the ATL are lovely. You need more time to come to know the real Georgia. Don't overlook the wonderful people who call this place home.

Our friends have retired to Georgia and are trying to get us to leave Texas. They live just south of a Warner Robins. Where would you recommend? Im a RN but dislike the city and prefer more rural areas. Love seafood!

@@erinmcbride-spivey6595 I don't know that area well. Anywhere outside Warner Robins would be rural except north of there which is headed toward Macon. Even just outside of Macon is rural. The small town of Gray, north of Macon is tiny, but close to necessities. Pretty country.

Same here came from Wisconsin have had many great times in Atlanta and there's always work. Everyone is from others parts of the country. Sure beats Milwaukee with nothing but crime and unemployment.

Where I live there is basically one "non profit" organization that owns 99% of all medical facilities, doctors and hospitals in about a 100 mile radius. Which is horribly wrong. We have no real choices for health care for that reason. This "non profit" organization is known to garnish people's wages to pay for their basic health care. Look up Phoebe Putney Hospital. Look up how much they own here.

You failed to mention a city in Georgia that has one of the lowest crime rates in the nation. It's just outside of Atlanta, which has a very high crime rate. The city is Kennesaw, GA. The reason for the low crime rate? It's a city ordinance that every household has at least one firearm.

Scrap that is not even true. Keisha condemned the riots. Crime rate is lower from last year. She condemned the killing of the 8 year old. And just like any other city, you can visit here. People come to Atlanta all the time. Just avoid Southwest Atlanta(where the killing occured) any remain vigilant and careful and you are fine. Now i do not think that garret should be charged with murder. I think it should be a lesser charge like voluntary manslaughter because he could have shot him in the legs. Not 3 times aiming the back. And the 3rd shot nearly hit someone in a nearby car.

A decade ago I was down in southern Georgia with some friends. We heard about a BBQ place about 2 miles away from our hotel down some back roads. We got there and as my buddies and I were talking some of the other customers there could tell we weren't from there. So, they came up to us and said, "Y'all are from up north aren't ya? Where from Tennessee are y'all from?!" One of my friends and I just looked at each other with weird looks and chuckled and said, "No, we're not from Tennessee. We're from Michigan. And I kid you not they were like, "Ah, hell nah!" and quickly left the small little BBQ restaurant. Again my friend and I looked at each other and were like wtf as we busted out laughing.

I used to live in Augusta but was somehow rerouted to Arizona. I have so many good Georgia memories. It’s true it is a little humid. I miss the food, the friendly people, the accent. All the pretty lakes and flowers. I loved Helen and Callaway Gardens and I also think Atlanta had the most beautiful botanical gardens I have ever seen. I really do miss it. Houses were much less expensive also.

I went to Atlanta last August and it was a nice experience. You’re definitely right about the traffic. I stayed in the northeastern suburbs at my cousin’s house. Those areas of Atlanta are very nice.

This guy uses alot of humor. I get it. I really do. However, in all his videos he pokes fun at White people that are doing bad and doing good in different states. But when commenting on Blacks he only points out the worst crummiest Black areas "ghettos" in each state and totally misses every opportunity to highlight an area where Blacks are doing well. Like alot of parts of the Atlanta Metro. The area in general is beloved by many Black folks in the country because it has such an unusually high number of Black professionals and entrepreneurs doing well compared to the rest of America.

I have been all around the world and lived in several countries and I loved it, but nothing ever beats going back home to the South and to my beloved state of Georgia and its people. Most people who settle there really enjoy it and stay there. You can't beat the cost of living.

I moved to Georgia in 2009 from Kansas and I'll never move back there from North Georgia. Its absolutely beautiful and diverse here. Pretty much everybody gets along in Habersham County Ga. Great place to live in my opinion.

I know the state of Maryland very well, it has become more and more expensive in real estate, most of my acquaintances have moved from there to go and buy their houses in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Alabama because it is cheaper right now. DMV is not worth it because it is no longer just anyone who lives there

Alan Jacksons Old Mansion Is On The Highway Literally About 2 Minutes From Me. Pass It All The Time. Georgia Is Actually Very Pretty, Im From Northeast Georgia, Really Recommend Staying In Helen If Youre Traveling Through There, Its A Beautiful Place That Is Based Off German Towns And Houses. I live in Atlanta (been my dominant place of living since forever It's a pretty lively place, I feel like the country areas are pretty boring, but there's a lot of diversity here too, there's also a lot of things to do, and there's also a lot of history. It actually feels somewhat like a place for everyone.

Good video, whenever hear Georgia, I think of Deliverance, REM, Love Shack, Georgia On My Mind, Traffic in Atlanta, driving down I-75, and the nice short coastline. Liked your Sublime parody and I did not know that someone else played Dueling Banjos for that guy in the movie. The northern mountains in Georgia are a really nice place to visit. 👍

I have laughed all the way though this video. I've been in Georgia for 42 years and traveled all over the state for work so I'm familiar. The maps are the BEST. No holds barred for Nick on this, I love it. You left out the Delk Road Brazilians but other than that....

Atlanta is nice and has changed so much over the years. But most of the state is subpar. Low pay, low public health and in general lower than most if the north and coasts if the usa. Savannah is a neat place to visiit

Georgia is a fine state. It is not perfect, but it was a great place for me to grow up and I have many fond memories. If you do like to hunt and fish then it will be a great place for you. It does get hotter than Hades during the summer, but heck stay in the air conditioning or find a people or beach. The autumn and spring are the best seasons there.

When traveling drive directly through Atlanta on Saturday or Sunday no bypass. All the traffic is on the outer loops on the weekend. Monday -Friday take bypass.

LA Ryan Thanks. It’s been a while since I drove through. It must be growing very fast. Never lived in Atlanta but I did Nashville in the 80’s. They have so many new (to me) loops etc I just go to the old downtown loop and back out like we did then otherwise I’d get lost. 😀

Important to note that the movie "Deliverance" was filmed in the mountains NE of Atlanta, but almost all the backwoods folks are gone now. Instead, the entire area depicted in the film is now owned as high-end vacation properties by very wealthy Atlanta attorneys and businessmen. And it all happened in just a few years.

Pretty good video.. I approve! I live in North Augusta SC on the border of Augusta Ga. I feel more connected to Augusta since all my jobs were in GA. I wanted to add that Augusta has become the cyber security center of the south, also Fort Gordon Army base is the Signal Corp Center for the military. We've had a major influx of families in 3yrs moving from Washington DC and other areas. So much so that it required building new houses, subdivisions and new schools and the expansion hasn't slowed down. After former Governor Sonny Perdue announced in the media the building of the Cyber Security Center they literally broke ground the next day. I've never seen 4 3 -story buildings build so fast. Also this part of GA and SC has a low cost of living.. 🏘️⛳. Sorry got carried away lol...
