I forgot to mention that my rooting containers have drainage holes in the bottom. I water the cuttings the same time I water my cactus. I don’t worry much about rotting as my medium is very light and airy. 🙂

I recently found your channel and find it very helpful to me. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Within the last year I began keeping cactus and succulents inside under supplemenatal lighting. I do have a few outdoors from spring to early fall, but still learning. Thanks again

Hi Ana. Should i plant my cactus on pumice alone or it's just for purposes of having it rooted then transplant when fully rooted? thanks and more power.

Hi! I’m from Yuma Arizona now retired in Augusta Georgia. Huge difference in weather. I love and grow cactus. 🌵 when I try to root a cactus cutting, they never grow roots. Are you saying you put it in pumice? I had one that I grew from a baby for about 15 years it grew to be about 5 feet tall and then one winter it just got hollow and dried out in the center and died. I’m still heartbroken over it.

Aww, I’m sorry you had a cactus rot, especially after growing it for so many years. Yes, I root mine in pumice or pumice + coco coir. Like I showed in the last part of the video, I get better success rate in rooting them that way. I also water it when I water my other cactus as it roots. I don’t worry about rotting as my rooting medium is very light and airy. 😊

I'm fairly new to your channel. I've been growing night bloomers in Tucson for years now but all I know about them has been learned through trial and lots of errors. I'm finding lots of helpful information for growing, propagating, feeding, and caring for my fairly extensive collection of cactus and succulents from your videos. Thanks for taking the time and sharing your knowledge. Zk

Awesome plants and gifts from Clyde 😊 I've been having good success with rooting cuttings in pure grit, managed to save another Haworthia recently that way, too. Thank you for sharing with us as always, Ana. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜☕

That is awesome! What is in your grit material? I try not to include too much rocks as they heat up too much during our summer.

I have the Opuntia with the pretty yellow flower way up north in Canada and they do so well even in our super cold winters.

Pumice rules!! Every good cactust/succulent keeper needs a bag of sand, pumice, and ¼" lava rock on hand at all times. Ive rooted in 100% sand a bunch, but i figure 100% pumice would be great!! I figure the small lava rock would be great too, providing plenty good drainage and airation mix for roots. My next rooting i will try the 100% pumice route. Happy keeping!!

Great video Ana!!! I'm sure those humifusas will do great under your care !!! Thanks for the shout out!!! Deb actually got the cup and towels for you. I forgot to write that on the paper. Oops! The little Euphorbia hybrid hasn't been named because I wanted to see what real form it might take on. These hybrids tend to shape shift over the years and change. My enigma has changed a lot since it first came up. But i guess giving it my name is good enough!! I have a ceriformis X polygona hybrid I call Little Debbie for Deb. Thanks again Ana for sharing !!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, out to Las Vegas, have a wonderful day!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌️💖🌵🌻🌷🌴💐🍀🌱🌸🌳🪴🌹🌾😃👍

Oh, thank you so much Deb for my cup and towels. Ladies certainly know how to choose cute stuff for the kitchen. 😊 Yes, I will call them Euphorbia Clyde until you get to officially name them. Thank you again Clyde for my box of goodies. 😍
