Great video and lovely statue. Received one as a gift for my son. A bit worse for wear in transit but nothing that good old blu tack and superglu cannot fix. Love the channel!
Are there differences between the fake and the original? I found a figure, but I can't tell if it's an original. Possible based on weight? Is there a copyright sign - I mean, is it an original licensed Nintendo/Pokemon product?
None are licensed products sadly. It was originally sculpted in China and then people recast it and make it in plastic. I’ll likely pick up a plastic one that’s cheaper to compare the two and see later. Probably will give that one away as well on that video. If it’s less than $150 I can guarantee you it’s a plastic one. I won’t know the difference until I see it in person though.
I am SOOOO sorry! I wish I had somewhere to recommend but I believe they all have been sold out. You have to be very careful with this one on eBay as well as it has been bootleg and recasted with many fakes out there. If you ever find one make sure it's in the same box as I showed here in the unboxing.

Thanks man!! I absolutely felt the need to grab the second one after seeing how well and affordable this one was. I went with the Ho-Oh/Regular Gyrados one. Primarily because I love me that classic epic Gyrados haha Let me know if you decide on going in on it!
Dope video! Can you suggest some reputable websites to buy resin figures from? From what I’ve seen there’s lots of unofficial sketchy sites. I know there’s a bunch on eBay but that can be sketchy too.

I have! I actually have both Gen 2 statues, with the regular gyrados and shiny version but I have not had the time to showcase them. Should be able to in the next few weeks. Unfortunately most online seller of this statue are likely sold out because it was quite a popular piece. So the only thing I can recommend now for you is aftermarket purchasing through eBay which the price has risen some. I see one for $260 shipped on eBay if it's within your budget. If not they have another they will be releasing similar to this one that has Ho-Oh or Lugio, with a Gameboy Color and Nintendo DS on there.Hope this helps and let me know if there's anything else you need mate! One is made of plastic (bootleg) and the other is made of resin which is the authentic one. So mine will have some weight to it while the other will feel cheap and the quality of the paint application would be not like the stock photo. If it’s. It $125+ or my id guess it’s a bootleg
Also, the bootleg one doesn't requiere to assemble (and I think the box has a transparent plastic for you to look the statue inside) The original one is the one from the video (all sealed and requieres assembling)
Been contemplating selling mine for space reasons....if you're truly interested I can possibly work something out for you. Sadly these days space is becoming a bit of an issue...

Hey there! Unfortunately eBay would be the only place at the moment because most resellers have sold out of stock. Beware though eBay has lots of bootleg versions that are plastic and not resin. I imagine the quality is also very poor as they're chinese knock offs.

Hey man! Thanks for stopping by! I'm honestly going to say what others have told me and what I've observed so far. With RU-vid every growing and evolving, and more and more people entering the market of video making, it's going to come down to luck and your videos somehow lining up with RU-vid's algorithm to recommend videos to viewers. I personally believe any and most growth I've had stems back to making a video of my collection which is a gateway for others to find my channel. Unless you have something that's going to stand out and attract some attention initially it's going to be hard to get that momentum going. So far all I can say is RU-vid is a grind, one that requires you to put your head into it without focusing too hard on results. The more you focus on results the more the quality of your videos and content can suffer. You have a limited amount of energy when doing this...if you're putting it towards worrying about growing while in an infancy stage you're misspending it. Hope that makes sense.... I will leave a comment on one of your videos regarding reviewing your channel so far mate! I realize that there are really cheap one on ebay or taobao. I know Mfc is not official so are there like a bootleg of Mfc? As funny as it sounds. How do I know that I am paying for the "authentic" one.
Sadly I noticed recently eBay is riddled with fake cheap ones. All I can say is you get what you pay for with those. Authentic ones will likely come with a $100-$150 price tag and they will be made of solid heavier resin. While the fake ones are made of PVC/Plastic, cheap, quality will likely be inconsistent with the provided stock photo, and just genuinely look cheap. Weather it's worth it to you to try and find a authentic one is up to you and how deep you want to go with your wallet. Very fun statue though! Shin5214 Sadly it’s the Chinese who take the original, cast mold all the original parts, then mass produce using cheap supplies. If you were to ever see the cheap one you would see the difference in no time.
