I bought a Boss GT-1 when I moved to L.A. because I was in an apartment and needed a quiet option for practice & recording. I love that thing 😂 I’d have no problem throwing it in a bag & taking it to play any last-minute thing. I started playing in 1985, and can’t believe how much solid-state & digital musical-equipment has evolved since I started … I think my Tom Sholtz “Soloist” head-phone amp was over $300 when my dad gifted it to me for Christmas in 1986. It had clean, crunch & distortion with chorus & echo for effects. Now you can get something like this at a great price & have pretty much every tone you could possibly want. I have the Nux Monterey Vibe univibe and it’s great. When I want to have a Jimi Hendrix freak-out, it does the thing. Hope you’re well, Robert. You haven’t posted for over a week, and I hope that’s for good reasons. 🤘🏻

I own one and am constantly amazed by what can be done with it! The computer software interface app is so convenient for teaching your settings. I only use that for editing and not on the unit.

I've gone back to rack stuff for my effects these days. My only pedals are for overdrive and distortion and my midi pedal. It's like I'm in the 90s again

For the price, a great purchase. The amp, effects and ir's are all very usable. Easy to use and tweak. I bought one in 2022, luv it for home/studio use. Ive yet to try it live though. Bonus points for the updates, they really listen to what their customers want.

With the pedal that's included and an expression pedal added. You can go into the internals of any effect and program. The expression panel for individual knobs that you can manipulate live, which is pretty freaking cool for like a phaser or a flanger. Or any effects. It's a rad unit bro and the extra ir upgrades are mind blowing

Back in 2010 I played at an Open Jam and they had one of these effect processors. Every effect was distorted. It was good for those who like to play Heavy Metal, but it sucked when you wanted to play Blues.

A foot pedal with its own footswitch. Wow. I like the bar that protect the knobs from getting stomped on. I still own an old-school, BOSS ME-50. I bought it used, 20 years ago for $100. Perfect for people who don't have the time or gumption to dive into learning how to use another computer program. Oh, did I mention it's made by BOSS?

I just bought that same Nu-x MG-30 in March or early April. I actually traded it in for three pedals I got bored with. Holy cow I love the sounds that thing makes, and how easy it is to tweak. Enjoy

I've had mine for nearly 2 years now and it's pretty solid. It definitely has WAY too much treble in it stock and all the IRs are straight dog ass (and so are the presets). Luckily you can adjust the input volume via the trim control (in the global section) and even tweak the eq before the fx chain, both of which I suggest as the input volume is cranked way too high even at 0db. Pro tip: the bias control on the amp models is more or less a "tight/loose" knob for the low end.

Welcome to the present! :D I use a Kemper Stage almost exclusively these days. My amps are literally collecting dust. I haven't used anything (except my Katana 100 MKII at open mics) since 2022.

love that face you make holding that knife! i'm surprised they let you play with sharp objects LMAO jk. can't wait to hear/ see the demo. i used to use effects processors; i have a boss something or other and it was nice with all the different options. just kinda got tired of trying to get the sound i liked out of it. switching to just a few pedals was one of the best things i ever did; felt it was much easier to get a good sound out of them without the menus.

I think I'm in the same boat as you. My last digital effects unit that I bought was a Zoom 506B from 1996. I still have it, actually. I just have been an analog guy, using a Digitech compressor, EHX pedals, and a Tech21 Sansamp. This setup has not failed me yet........ but I've reluctantly admitted in recent days that the new digital stuff is sounding amazing. How do you feel about the Tech21 Fly Rigs?

If you can find the right FlyRig that has everything on it that you need, they’re great. Very convenient to throw in a guitar case or even a backpack and hop on a plane to wherever the next gig is. Definitely a good idea. Lots of companies have actually copied that idea and made their own versions now.

It works great as a usb audio IO and as a reamp device. In fact many of the NuX USB based multifx and amps can be used as an audio IO and/or reamp. Just fyi Robert

I'm not a fan of effect processors. Pedals are more for me. Easy to adjust the effect you want to tweak. I own a Headrush MX5. I don't like the sound on my amplifier. But it's great for live streaming connected to computer.
