I'd take this over the nautilus every day, that one does nothing for me. This is beautiful. Looking forward to dd36 side by side shots with this one. Congratulations.
There’s a party in the comments! 🎉 Congratulations! I think you will not look back from this point forward. Such a beautiful and elegant watch. I really hope you are enjoying it. Looking forward to more video about your new love.
I’ll do an update once I figure out how to set the watch. PP and Daytona competing for wrist time! In another universe, maybe it could have been a Royal Oak, but maybe AP is not meant to be.
Congratulations on your 5205 (excellent choice). I would recommend that you consider and perhaps try and next get one or more of the following: 5231G 5738P 4947/1A (perfect for small wrist) 5172G-010 (if not mind the 41mm size) These are classic “forever” watches and am sure will result in eventually getting yourself a desired hyped nautilus of your choice though imo the above choices are far more attractive pieces to own and wear Good luck on your exciting venture
Out of those, the 5231G looks the best. Prefect size and beautiful Dial, but I’m not ready to spend that much right now. 5738p: VERY interesting choice. I would consider this as a 5th or 6th Patek. 5172G unfortunately too big for me. Right now, I have the 5205G and 6119G. I have asked for the 5226G and 5212A as my next piece.
Congrats! It's one of the nicest pieces in the complications line up and looks great on you. It's in a different league even compared to PM Rolex. I made the jump from Rolex to AP and I love it. Probably one day Patek as well...
That is one beautiful Haute Horology timepiece! You went from mass machine mass produced Rolex watches, to handmade exquisite perfection finest of Watch making! Patek and AP are at the highest level of watch making, congratulations! Lucky man, enjoy it with health and prosperity!
It’s a masterpiece, but it feels crazy to drop that amount of cash on a watch. No one I meet will ever even notice it. It’s just for me! Knowing I’m wearing a hand-finished piece.
Congratulations. I also own this watch, white face, yellow gold.( See my tag). I love this watch so much I am planning to buy this model again with black face, yellow gold. Another good choice is the 5396 which I also own in white gold ,slate face, Arabic numerals. Great second piece.
Rolex and Patek all day everyday! The thing with Rolex is that they have such a nice lineup that is unmatched. The diversity of the Rolex watches and the price ranges are solid. Pateks are overall more of a clean look in general, mostly more sophisticated, and complicated of course. These are my two favorite brands and they have ruled the watch world with ease. Enjoy your new Patek!
Congratulations that’s a stunning piece my first choice is 5167A. Then a 5212 A. They are virtually impossible to buy from the AD it’s a different level. In my opinion a very long road super cool pick up 👏🏻👏🏻
Omg . You are so lucky , I just bought my patek 5202-010 last month but from the reseller . Because Patek doesnt offer me buy a watch I want but they offer me to buy the watch I don’t like . So I couldn’t buy my first patek in the store, I really sad about it . Happy for you man
Congratulations 🙌🏽! This is a whole other league, way above Rolex, for some reason patek watches just takes me to that movie Hugo, this is a magical piece
This watch is absolutely fantastic. For your next Patek watch a great complication watch with a minute repeater or the one with the star move on the sky could be a great choice
@@sc1 the 5212 is a very interesting watch, with an ingenious movement that basically gives you the same result as an annual calendar while really having little more than a day-date moment (although you have to set it 5 or 6 times a year instead of only once a year like the glorious 5205 you have). I would advice you against buying the 5226 though, you can get better stuff for the same price. Congrats again
@@AjejeB I am trying for both right now, which ever can come first. My AD said that the 5226 would be very difficult to get, so maybe I might be allocated the 5212 first. I love the opaline silver dial and the complex dial markings of the 5212. But I also like the textured charcoal dial of the 5226.
Congratulations! Amazing watch, now you are in with Patek! You will get more pieces in the future! I have a three Calatravas but the 5205 in white gold would surely be a watch to buy in the future.
Thanks. I think wearing the Daytona opened some doors for me. I’m not sure which Calatrava I like the best, I’ll need to take a further look at the catalog.
I have the 5227J and really enjoy it. The new 5226 is very nice and the 5212 as you mentioned is liked by many. Good luck with your next piece from Patek!
Congratulations, that’s a beautiful watch! I have my sights on buying the 5205 as well, but I am undecided on the white gold/ blue dial like yours, or the rose gold/ black dial…. I currently own a Nautilus 5990 in steel, and a Patek 5960 in platinum with anthracite (gray) dial.
I originally planned to include this in my Suit video, but it missed the cut, by just a hair. It’s a super piece to wear with a suit, but after all, my channel is mostly Rolex, so I kept it to that.
Thanks for your video. I've had my eye on this piece for a while. You now introduced me to the Calatrava weekly calendar which also looks interesting. Like you, I may need to buy both! Can I ask where you found a retailer with stock of the 5205?
Stunning watch! I have been watching your videos for a while and you really improved their quality (intros, music, etc.). Excited to see the next one! P.S. Maybe change the name of the channel, because it is hard to find and it will be great, if you add profile picture/logo of some sort. Cheers!
Good point. I just couldn’t think of a good name for the channel, so I let it go. But I really should add some kind of logo. Thanks for following along!
Congrats! That’s a beautiful timepiece. Your Rolex collection is great, but you pretty well have all the models covered now. Looking forward to see where your watch journey takes you next. Hopefully, this will put you on a path toward a Nautilus.
True, I don't have much more options available in Rolex, except for the exotic dials, which are very difficult to get. Still want a modern Explorer, but also looking ahead to Patek. Nautilus still feels like a pipe dream. It will take a few further steps for me to even get consideration.
@@sc1 Congratulations, what a great purchase. I actually sold mine a couple of months ago to make way for a Lange One, but it is such an amazing watch. Classy, under the radar and like nothing else. I am really pleased for you 👏🥃
@@Mark..P Thanks, the 5212 makes a great third PP for my collection. I'm glad this came to me before anything else. I'm looking forward to filming this, then wearing it on a regular basis.
@@sc1 Looking forward to seeing the video and also what comes next from Patek. You will now be in a great position for other pieces that interest you. Congratulations once again!
Congrats buddy. If I'm being honest and objective, I still think your skydweller blue dial on jubilee remains the grail piece in the collection. Although you did not pay retail, it's just such a unicorn of a watch! You can buy a 5205 ultimately from a store eventually cause it's not a hyped piece, but great stuff you didn't wait at all to get it. Thats pretty good. 6119g calatrava, 5226 calatrava modern take, if you like the weekly calander go for it . I cant wear such dress watches to work, and i never go to any dinner events etc lol, so practicality is also noteworthy when deciding your next piece. Ta
Good comment. I’ve had some minor doubts about my blue Sky-Dweller, since it was not brand new (but still from my AD). I will need to think on it. I always prefer owning New pieces. I’m not sure why the 5205 hasn’t become a more hype piece, it’s a beautiful blue dial, and has great proportions. It’s more streamlined and dressy then the Sky-Dweller, but still plenty of complications. I love the Jubilee bracelet, and I’m not accustomed to wearing leather straps, but it’s growing on me… and the 5205 dial might be even more amazing than the Sky-Dweller.
@@sc1 Yo buddy. Keep that skydweller!. Lol As to why the 5205 is not that hyped, as per your fact find, 1995 etc annual calander variations are rife in patek catalogue pre owned and now. I almost picked up the black dial white gold 6 yrs ago, the model has been out for over a decade I think. If you asking me, the rose gold black dial trumps. They brought out olive green dial rose gold 5205 recently, list goes on and on. 5960 variants are probably the best all rounders, Power reserve, fly back chrono and annual calander. I think they now only have white gold 5960 with blue dial now??...Then 5905 models are very chunky and I hate the 6 o Clock subregister. We have same wrist size actually boss. Lol Then there are the subdial annual calanders etc. Rolex only have 1 annual calander. You've got the best one. Don't forget that. Lol Look forward to your next review buddy. Ta
@@RigGeo I have TWO Sky-Dwellers: blue dial steel, and black dial yellow gold. Eventually… I will need to let one go! But Which one? I don’t much care how long the 5205 movement has been out. The Sky-Dweller movement has been out for 11 years, the Daytona 4130 for 23 years! Both still work great. The blue dial refresh on the 5205 just came out in 2018, And I prefer that over black or olive dial, or rose gold case. I think my 5205 can co-exist with one, but only one, Sky-Dweller.
@@sc1 Yo boss. I think it's great you have both skydwellers highlighting how great they can look in different configurations. Do you have to get rid of one??? Just keep them all! Lol It would be a shame to see either go, but then again, you are the boss. Lol Look forward to seeing more vids from you soon and it's great to see other brands in the collection. Ta
I didn’t know anything about the Complications Collection, or which ones were hyped. I checked resale value on this one before buying (not much over retail), but still got it anyway since it looked the best. I need to find another Patek that won’t be too difficult to get at the AD.
You may also look into Omega Constellation Globemaster (blue dial, 39mm). I really love it and plan to make lt my first luxury watch after graduating from university. Maybe you can review it someday; or it can become part of your collection as well. Have a great day!
Yes, it looked like they had a ladies Aquanaut and a men’s Aquanaut with diamond bezel, both “For Display Only”. He confirmed that people have been waiting for years for a Nautilus or Aquanaut.
Congratulations! However, your YT friends can all see where this is going... ...next the RM... ....but alas something us still not right.. ...so viola, the Sclex watch company!
@@sc1 I think a 5226G would be a bit more sporty piece, and I think I like it more than an Aquanaut, for instance. I haven't seen any reviews of the 5226G so presumably not many have it yet. That would be another great piece in your collection if you could manage to obtain one.
@@buzz934 Vacheron has not caught my eye. Seems kind of generic to me. I like the AP Royal Oak. Looks Tight. The sparkle from the integrated bracelet, and the industrial case design. Unobtainable!
Sorry the Rolex Skydweller has more functionality than the 5205, not the other way around. The Skydweller has an annual calendar with a GMT dial in the middle whereas the 5205 is a 24 hour indicator. The Skydweller is also 100m water resistant and has a power reserve of 72 hours. Both superb watches so its not a direct comparison. Either way, stunning watch and congrats.
@@hawkofarabia1013 yes I know watches lol In fact I have more pateks than Rolex, both excellent brands. If you think they cant be compared, i think you should study watches abit more bud. Dun be so salty that you don't own any watches.
@@kaiserphoenix01 dont take it personal 😂 rolex cant be at same level as VC , Patek ,Moser, F.P AP , lange and JLC. Anyone spends 5 minutes reading about watch industry know that. Last, this is not my opinion go fight with the experts. Take it easy rolex guy 😀
