The Guzheng is played w/ Finger Picks that are attached w/ Tape. I do use Standard Guitar Finger Picks so that I wouldn't need tape. The Picks are actually made out of Plastic w/ a Tortoise Shell Finish, they've banned the use of Tortoise Shell as material for Musical Instrument Picks to protect the Turtles.
Yes your 1st Zither. Alice makes good strings for it, & I like using all Rope Core Strings (they're Steel Core strings but w/ a Stranded Steel Core) because they're softer & easier. Also all of the strings might be wound, the wrap wire softens the tone a little bit.
I started learning cello at the age of 24 without any music knowledge just because I love its sound so much. However, I didnt feel I make progress although I have been learning it for 1 year. Thought of giving up so many times :((. Pls update your progress regularly so that I can have some inspiration
Interesting There’s one thing I learnt from my past experience: whatever takes time or seems hardcore for you to achieve by self learning, take a class and stick to the end. I’m a fast learner in quite a lot of things and normally capable of learning things by myself. That made me extremely surprised when it went to musical instruments, I found myself pretty sucked. Since I started the guzheng class, I’m enjoying it really much and seeing the progress quite clearly. I don’t know your situation. But take a class if you don’t feel your skill improved enough. Or if you re already done with your class and want to make it to higher level, set a schedule of 1-2 day practicing a week. I’ll update my progress in 3 months lol. Keep it up together ✨
It’s an old book since high school which i even don’t remember i own it honestly and you actually remind me of how bad I was at literature back to high school time haha :)) i was better at the natural subjects :))). But let me think, talking about books could be the interesting topic I might work on (Y)
I ordered it from Taobao - a Chinese e-commerce website then booked a separate shipping company to ship to Vietnam my home country. I’m pretty happy with it since at least I could play some songs while I can’t do it with other instruments. The only thing I don’t like about it is about tuning. Since I followed the instruction but the string just sometimes broke and scared me the most. I wish I could always play it without tuning it. That’s it
I did make my video of my guzheng progress, please check it out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KWnC-kUBx0M.html

@@changkao_ thank you very much ! I finally ordered mine yesterday from sound of mountain. Because i’m in France, I realised there is big taxes and shipping costs. So i start with a low cost guzheng.
Wish to see more videos about ur CS studies in UoPeople,as I have seen so many times ur videos repeatedly! Can a medical student go to Computer science? I m just curious, can anyone with no IT or CS knowledge, study Bechelor in Cs?
Hi Merry, Thank you so much for your sweet comments. I used to be a Business student with none programming experience. But I really enjoy studying CS right now. I believe everybody can. It's just a matter of time and effort. If you manage both of these, I think you could make it. Go for it or at least try if you're interested in.
