One of the best gadgets I ve ever bought. But pls, guys, stop putting this silicon things on Steam Deck. That looks terrible and increases sd temperatures.
@@astronuggie okay, you're right. But still, it looks very cheap and plus, there is no point in these things, as by putting them on a Steam deck you deprive yourself of the main advantage - its build quality. These silicone pads are constantly dangling and getting dirty. Steam Deck is very pleasant to hold without them, and it doesn't slip out of place, unlike its competitors.
Once you get to play it more I would love a review on how you use it vs your PC gaming experience ❤. I keep holding off since I have a PC, switch, and PS4 already but it would be lovely to play my steam library controller games in my cozy TV corner and on the go.
You don’t have to settle for just playing games with controller compatibility, the steam deck can change the joystick to send awsd output instead of joy stick, have a track pad and gyro, and you can create custom radial menu(weapon wheel) where you can fit 8 buttons and a random middle button with no ingame effect, if you don’t the menu keeps turing off and you have to press the stem button twice. But that gives you plenty of extra buttons. And you can even turn your left trackpad into another radial menu and with the higher sensitivity of trackpad you can place even more buttons then a joystick, giving you a ton of buttons as if you were playing on pc with keyboard and mouse I’m currently playing call of juraez 1 from 2006 on my steam deck, and being from 2006, that game has 0 controller support but plays like it was made for the steam deck and is even unsupported in its steam deck verification. I just had to apply a community lay out in the controller settings and tweak it a little to my liking and add radial menu for all my weapon hot keys, and it was ready to go I have had mine for about three months and am very happy with it easy to use takes care of it self like console does in terms of keeping everything updated very user friendly, amazing control customization, if you get one I can highly recommend watching some videos about how the controller settings menu works, there are a lot of little tricks that can make for much more comfortable experience controlling your games. And then it comes to your switch and ps4, the steam deck can emulate your switch games just get them on a sd card for the switch and download an emulator for the steam deck and you have a more powerful switch. All ps4 minus PlayStation and console exclusive can be bought on steam and played on the steam deck, the steam deck is about as strong as a ps4. And ps4 games are pretty old now so, steam often has great deals on them, and then there is cd keys who always have great deals on old pc games, so you can easily buy back your ps4 games for steam instead. And you can plug it in to the tv and now it works like your ps4, run the emulator and now it does what your switch do, run it not plug in to a tv and playing one of your favorite games from the ps4 area, now it does what your switch and your ps4 do, but at the same time. And if you replace your switch and ps4 with a steam deck then you can sell them, and your games after having backed up the switch games for emulation, and make a little extra cash to help pay for it. And if the place you buy from have a grace period there you can try it out and bring it back if you don’t like it, then you can buy it then you know you have time to try it out, and see if you like it, and if you do you can think about if you really need your switch and ps4 anymore. Hope this help you in your decision
@pvfas1 Thank you so much for your detailed review, I learned some new things! This was the extra little push i needed to go ahead and get the steamdeck. It basically becomes my everything console and cheaper in the long run! You're the best @pvfas1
@@pvfas1you can play any game on the deck because of the trackpads and unlimited customisations possible due to lot of buttons available. I’m playing resident evil 2 with trackpads and the experience is much much better than ps4 controller. Ofcourse mouse and keyboard on pc is the best way to play shooting games but being able to play these games on a handheld is crazy.
