This model line has been my favorite from the brand. I must have bought 2 or 3 variations through the past years. Glad they have it back. Looks good still with some improvements. Smart buttons for the fingers. I remember it could be a slight pain in ass just to push them and you had to push kind of hard into the bag to get them to snap. This way you can snap secure a lot easier. Looks like the inside customizable dividers may be made better. I also remeber the old ones seem to have some limits to the configurations. .. at least the way I wanted to configure them didn't seem like they were optimized and the accessibility was a little wonky. And, yeah, the old waxed canvas material they used to use was cool. But, it was actually heavy. I like the lighter material they used later and most recently. Love the modular customizability too.
I also love waxed canvas, but when they have multiple buttons and flaps and layers, it starts to get heavy. This bag feels light for its size, especially since they use metal hardware and leather accents. It's a great everyday bag!
Nice, I like that finger loop detail. LOL I was just looking at their website this morning at the Pilot series. Im a black bag person at heart but that green does look nice.
@@bigheadtaco Thanks but I edited my comment, I saw they got some without leather straps. Even my favorite brand of bags Think Tank Photo uses leather on some of their straps, I have to admit they do look nice. They sort of remind of Billingham bags in a way.
I am selling my billingham hadley pro and placed an order for this bag. It ticks every box on my wishlist for an everyday bag that can carry my single camera and all the everyday stuff, without looking out of place anywhere. The hadley pro just isn't versitile enough to be used everyday. I feel billingham is loosing ground by being too focused on camera and not considerung other usages.
Wotancraft makes such nice bags! I really love this one though the Pilot is first on my list still I think. But man, so nice. I can't wait to see your comparison video on the other Wotancraft against this bag. Super nice + great to see you as always, Take. It's been a while. :))
Thanks for making me aware of this bag maker. I'm moving to Toronto, so I'll need a more refined camera carrying system than my F-stop 50 or 80L. It would be great to see your M7 with a couple lenses/film actually in the bag. Room for two Leica bodies with larger lenses attached? Thanks
Definitely enough room for 2 M bodies and some lenses and accessories. I'm currently conducting my long term test on the bag and will come back with my thoughts.
I’d love to see your comparison video. I still have the Domke:Fujifilm bag you recommended previously, but always looking for something more adaptable. Could you compare that one too? Great content as always!
The Domke F-803X is an awesome bag, but the Wotancraft is bigger, more protected, and fancier with leather accents. I love both bags, but Wotancraft is definitely a step up in quality and size.
Wotancraft have played themselves a bit by making the pilot too good - it’s modular/cheaper/the fidlock is awesome! The only reason anyone would get this over the pilot is form over function.
Form over function is exactly the reason to put an order on this bag yesterday. I have always wished for a good bag for camera and at the same time everyday stuff, but the Pilot look too military. But I can carry the scout everywhere without looking out of place, especially the black one.
