I got a sweet box of old vintage lures that my grandpa supposedly used to fish with. This could date back as far as the '50s, but I really have no idea. leave a comment if any of these lures look familiar to you.
The Mitchell 300 reel...oh my gosh! how blissful memories come to my mind seing it and those familiar lures I used in the early 70´s over here in Spain. How fast time goes by...
Yellow one shaped like a bomb is appropriately called the Bomber. Deep running lure. Jitterbug is still a very effective top water bait. Mitchell 300 reel, I still use mine, it is 65 years old, which makes me pretty old. My old 60 year old Muskie lures are really nice also as well as my old 65 year old Plunger Supreme baitcaster which is built well to handle Muskies.
You can get skirts for the hula popper and the Hawaiian wiggle. Creek chub is the company that made that one lure. You can look up the serial number that is on the foot of your reel to see the age.
Weirdly enough, I just inherited my grandpa’s old tackle box so I’ve been watching some fishing stuff trying to get back into it. You popped up on my recommended videos, so I’ve now watched you do the same thing I was doing with that box like a week ago.
OMG! He's got a bomber! Classic lure the Mud Bug was it's competitor in the 70's and 80's. And I caught an ass load of bass with a Hula Popper. Lost my last good Lucky 13 popper to a snag and that's when I discovered a Hula Popper worked just as good. Good times. Jitterbug was great at night. Those others are just Lazy Ike wanna be's.
Thank you! Guess what I found a bunch of more lures in an old tackle box that used to be my dad's so we'll have another vintage unboxing video or two coming up!
OLD CRAP__JITTERBUGS ARE STILL VERY GOOD ON BASS==MITCHELL REEL GOOD FOR SOME KID, LOOKS LIKE 70S THEY ARE CRAP, THEY KINDA WORK, CHEAPYs TODAY ARE BETTER
