More than a million views, wow! Thank you everyone for watching (and thank you to the RU-vid algorithm). Unboxing the Patek Philippe Nautilus reference number 5990. Let me know what you think and visit my channel for more watch reviews.
Thanks for commenting. I made a full video review of this watch on my channel that you might prefer, let me know :) Keep in mind, I don't own these watches. For a review of a watch i do own, take a look at the Swatch Sistem51.
Thanks for commenting and sharing. Congratulations on getting a Patek. This isn't my watch (I wear a plastic Swatch which i've also reviewed on my channel) :)
Ibrahim Ayob Don't be an ass, Nautilus is probably the most beautiful man's watch ever produced from a design standpoint. And I am an industrial designer member of Italian ADI hosting yearly world-renewed Compasso d'Oro award. (Look it up).
+xiaoquan Haha. I really like G-Shock. Probably the one of the most durable watches on the market. Although, perhaps not the prettiest dress watch though :)
+Jia L. Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts. At the end of the day, it's just a box. You might enjoy my other watch reviews on my channel. Hope you have a good day.
This is probably my favorite watch in the world; I started off loving the Rolex Submariner then moved on to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak until I found out about this beauty. To me it's like an ultra-high quality Royal Oak, seeing as it was designed by the same man. The travel time is also my favorite complication and black dial in my opinion is the best for the Nautilus. I think I might prefer it in Rose Gold but I don't think they make this specific watch in that metal.
Apples and oranges? You might prefer the other more classical looking watches reviewed on my channel (or a review of my own watch, a plastic Swatch). Hope you have a great day! :)
Erik Ternsjö I just think that if the box opened and revealed something that looked a little more exciting like a nice Brietling Aviator Bentley ( I know I spelled it incorrect) or a Audemaur (that too) it would be less disappointing. This watch just looks very plain like my grandfathers volvo
Thanks for sharing. I would disagree with you that this is a plain looking watch. When I think of plain watches, I think of the vintage Omega I've reviewed on my channel from the 1950s. You might enjoy my full review of this Patek on my channel. The watches you mentioned are nice too. I especially want to try to review a Audemar Piguet Royal Oak.
+AsAnAtheistFilms Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts. You might enjoy my many other watch related videos on my channel. The Lange 1 or the Patek 5227 are some of my favourites, let me know.
Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts. Apples and oranges perhaps? :) You might enjoy my review of my own watch on my channel (a plastic Swatch) Hope you have a great day!
Pateks really are amazing, My uncle has one. He is as about as watch crazy as I am. Kinda sucks that the farthest i'm probably ever going is a Seamaster or a non date Submariner. And that's a watch I would buy to keep for life. Fun fact my Daily is a 1950's Lemania Automatic, Never serviced and with a busted crystal. I guess the expression "they don't make it like they used to" applies here aswell.
Hi, thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts. I agree with you that Pateks are indeed quite special amongst the current brands. I wouldn't judge yourself for having or not having a materialistic item though ;) Keep in mind, I don't have a Patek. If i even wear a watch, I wear a plastic Swatch (which i've also reviewed on my channel).
no name Congratulations, I think the 5990 is stunning! I just uploaded my review of this watch on my channel which you might enjoy, please let me know what you think! I will try to make more unboxing video, have a good day! :)
The box is nice, but its also a pet peeve of mine, because when you actually wear and use the watch - and you should - it will inevitably get marred and scratched. Putting it back in the box, it will then look really beat up because the box will be basically pristine. I think, ultimately, the nice box is just overkill that over time will make the watch appear more beat up than it is, when housed in said box.
I could not agree more with Mike on this one. This watch isn't simply a watch. It is a priceless heirloom, meticulously crafted by Patek Phillipe and his assistant, Jesus Christ. Patek's affiliate company, Les Pretentious Doux, supplies Patek and Jesus with only the finest gold, silver, platinum, diamonds and unicorn tears to assemble these timeless works of art. The wrist band is made from dragonscale and minotaur hide and was saddle-stitched by Abraham Lincoln... postmortem. The centerpiece is forged purely from platinum and the souls of starved children; children who didn't deserve to eat because they did not have one of these classic gems. Perhaps the greatest feature of this watch is its time-telling feature. The good people at Patek wanted to ensure that their customers have only the finest watches when they decide to not give anyone else the time... and why would they? It's their time, not that lowly cretin's. This watch's value is unparalleled and makes a great addition to any collection of jewelry, accessories, clothing or Nazi memorabilia. At just over $100,000, there has never been an easier way to say, "I am better than you and you know it."
Piekne pudelko i super firma ale tragicznie brzydki zegarek. Niestety nie rozumiem zachwytu nad takim klockiem. Moze wytlumaczysz mi o co chodzi? Chcialbym to jakos rozeznac i moze docenic.
Thanks for commenting. I think it's in part due to the un-traditional round watch design but also because this video went semi-viral and hence was probably viewed by many non-watch enthusiasts that think the price doesn't make sense. Design is subjective so nothing really new. You might enjoy my other watch reviews on my channel :-)
+Vital Liy Brand and quality associated with that brand contribute a lot. You might enjoy my other video reviews on my channel or a review of my own watch, a plastic Swatch. :)
+Joaquin Silva I agree. Ulysse Nardin, Panerai, shit even breitling has nice boxes than rolex. The only other company that blows is IWC with watches(over priced crap) and the boxes!
+Erik Ternsjö We need also to remember, that rolex is nowhere near Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, JLC, GP, ALS, and AP. Even Zenith is much better brand than overrated rolex. Rolex is just marketing, and logo, they developed no interesting complications, nothing spectacular during their history.
+Arsenio Ortiz I don't know why either :) Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts, you might enjoy my other videos on my channel including a review of my own watch (a plastic Swatch).
So it should for the money it costs. Sadly this is modern consumerism at it's worst. Swiss timepieces have been a rip off for 20 years. Better watches can be found in the UK and Germany for less, although to compete in the so called luxury market have raised prices exponentially over the past few years. Sad
Thanks for sharing and I agree with you. There are many things I despise about the watch industry and i think that would make for an interesting video. Please note, this isn't my watch. I wear a plastic Swatch (which i've also reviewed on my channel) :)
Don't get me wrong, great review and beautiful watch! I just needed a vent at the industry. What grinds me is great English brands or German brands can only compete if they put made in Switzerland all over the watch. The swiss, while great engineers of time pieces (that's indisputable) but they don't have the history of the Brits or the French. Kinda annoys me. Then being in the US, they slap a luxury tax on watches, even pre owned..that combined with a strong Franc has pushed most brands out of the reach of the Swiss, who pivoted to the East and the Middle East in the last decade. Now they want our money again, after years of creating junk by making stainless steel versions of their luxury brands. I for one, will not be bought off this way. I will continue to look for fantastic independents from Holland and the US which are projected for huge growth over the next decade. It's exciting for us that want a change from the same old of the last 20 years.
***** Thanks for commenting and sharing your feedback. I think customer perceptions play a much larger role than taxes. From a customer standpoint, Switzerland is just the place to be for watches. Similar to Italian sports cars.
Thanks for commenting and sharing your feedback. Keep in mind, these aren't my watches. You might enjoy my other videos on my channel including reviews of my own watches (a plastic Swatch and vintage Omega from 1954). Hope you have a great day! :)
Haha, thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts :) I have used the white gloves in my other Patek videos that you might enjoy. You might alos enjoy my review of my own watch (a plastic Swatch)
+USA2ndAmendment Thank you for commenting, I appreciate your feedback! Nothing wrong with what you said. You might like my Lange 1 review on my channel more? Let me know and have a great day! :)
Same here. The porthole shape used just doesn't do it for me. I have the same feeling towards the AP Royal Oak. Just look so clunky and rigid. Patek dress watches however I do love.
Gibson Blues Thanks for commenting. In that case, I feel you'll like my review of the Patek 5227 on my channel, let me know your thoughts ;) What about the Lange 1?
+Deavon Manson Prices of these types of watches are indeed quite ridiculous. You might enjoy my review of my own watch on my channel (a plastic Swatch). Hope you have a good day :)
Me at the store: Well how much is it without the... Individual one-of-a-kind pamphlet? Inside Paper box? Beautiful wooden box? Cloth? Outer paper box? The watch band? 😉😎🤔😁
haha, nice one! Unfortunately that would seam to suggest it's second hand, which would then make it nearly twice as expensive to when I made this video vs retail price.
Wow, is this really a $125,000 watch?! At least, those are the pre-owned prices I see on Ebay. At that price, they sure as hell better give you a decent box to keep it in!
When put in that context, luxury watch prices are quite ridiculous indeed. Keep in mind, this isn't my watch. I wear a plastic Swatch (which i've also reviewed on my channel) :)
Thanks for commenting. You might enjoy my other watch reviews/explanation videos on my channel (including a review of my own watch, a plastic Swatch and a vintage Omega from 1954)
Patek Philippe - you should have had a guy with better speaking voice. An excellent first class watch presented by...some say a midget in a flying carpet or like seaman first class popeye u.s navy.
