Should last a lifetime if I treat it like trigger broom Jimmy 😉 Thanks for watching and commenting mate it's half the price of the US one so I think it's actually a good deal Take care Roo
I saw on their website they do a steel one which I think would be a great upgrade much stronger than plastic... Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment really appreciate it 👍 All the best Roo
They're a preparedness essential for sure. Scope for elaboration too, a little spares package etc. The level gauge is a great addition too. Personally i've the Berkey, but they're more or less both the same. Good stuff and I bet you feel that little extra preped now. Nice one, stay safe man.
I've had it a while now and my only issue is the flow from the tap due to the upper and lower chambers being so close fitting that they form a vacuum so the water glugs after a moment rather than a steady pour I'm going to upgrade the tap and home that helps but it's only a minor fault 😉 Take care buddy thanks for taking the time to comment All the best Roo
Did you end up ever making a follow up video or did you have to send the unit back? Wondering if the ceramic filters need to be pre-soaked. Currently using Rain Fresh Gravity System and the first couple runs took very long to filter through. Also using ceramic filters... It's now running quicker after the first few fills.
Yes replacement filters include fittings and are compatible with most of these systems made by other companies too I've seen some people just buy the filters and fit them to plastic buckets to keep costs down 👍 All the best Roo
Is it 149 pounds including two filters or are they extra? It is smaller than a big berkey. Nice for free. Get spare filters asap Roo. Their site is showing a lot of things out of stock
The two white ones I fitted are included in that mate which is half the price of the Berkey one here They told me they're going to be doing bigger ones too but haven't got them in yet, all take the same candle filters that are made in Staffordshire Hope you and Kitty are well I've been really busy with work for the last six months so hopelessly behind on RU-vid and need to do lots of catching up! All the best Roo
Its great the there is another water filtration system on the market but, how does it compare to the market leader Berkey of equal or as close to spec. Does it make it viable from a replacement filters cost point of view but also and, most importantly what it can remove from the water.
Hi Alan thanks for watching and taking the time to comment There are different grades of filter just as there are for the berky I linked to the companies website in the description so you can see the different ones they have if you want As well as removing germs and bacteria they also filter metals out and do one to remove fluoride if required Price wise particularly here in the UK it's far cheaper and according to them higher spec so win win for me Take care Roo
@@PreparedCamping Yeah I used the link and asked them to compare to Berkey so just needed to get clarification that it did the same as a berkey if not better/more. Cheers, Alan.
Just recently bought the same filter but wondering if I've made a mistake in the installation: the first fill of water still hasn't all gone through. Filled it up on Monday and we're now Thursday and there's still about 10cm water in the top container... How long did it take you to get the first drinkable water?
I had the same problem with the water not coming out. The nuts were on too tight. The directions do say “do not over tighten.” My questions: how much water should go in to “prime” the filters? The instructions say only 1L and that seems like a very small amount - to me. And it does not mention soaking them. Also, your video did not mention if you tossed out (or more specifically just did not drink) the first few liters? Did you do that at all?
Definitely use more than a litre that won't cover the candles I didn't throw away the water but if you were concerned you could, or simply pass it through again All the best Roo
Thanks Al hope you're well sir sorry I've not been on here much been busy with work the last six months so got lots of catching up to do! God bless Roo
I’ve just got one and the spigot is literally only trickling; takes an age just to fill a glass. Tried re threading it and it made no difference. Looks like I’m going to have to buy a different spigot
Yeah the tap needs a air return I think as the two steel sections are so close fitting it creates a vacuum when opening, I want to get a steel spigot anyway and a level gauge so I don't overfill it Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment really appreciate it 👍 All the best Roo
@@PreparedCamping mine is set up but is leaking water, thought it was from the spigot but maybe I'm filling the top container whilst the bottom one is still full?
@@paulacharnley9695 to test the spigot connection take off the top, fill the bottom half, and wait a while to check for leaks The water you place in the upper half can only go down so it can be that you've over filled it don't add more than you need 👍 All the best Roo
It can take a while particularly if the ceramic filters weren't soaked first in order to be saturated. If you find it doesn't speed up disassemble and soak the candles before putting it back together Hope that helps, all the best Roo
Thank you it’s amazing how crazy impatient people can get especially myself at times, I didn’t pay attention when ordering, I thought my system came with 4 I actually got a really great discount, it’s working fine now. After 3 hours they saturated themselves.
It should take a while for the water to absorb into and through the candle filter I would leave it overnight and if its still not working you have an issue and should give them a call
The instructions are shit for this. They are vague, and the text all bunched together. There are no parts list, like you get with ikea or habitat furniture. All the parts are in one bag. It made me believe there was a missing part What is the orientation of the washer on the tap? It’s about to go back. Buy British??!
