I appreciate you taking the time to give a comprehensive video. I know it was a little bit long but so much better than other videos that tear through and miss bits and pieces. I know it’s basically self explanatory but there are some who need that extra little bit of help.

Your struggle to getting that GSA onto the center stand using center stand dolly is the same struggle I had with my R1200RT, I ended up twisting the center stand on the R1200RT. That's when I switched to Dynamoto units as well. Best decision I ever made!

Thank you so much for the kind words and taking the time to watch the video. Moving the bike is so easy and very little (if any) risk of a tip over. Not cheap but neither is a BMW 😉. Stay safe.

@@TheMotorradRider thanks, you too. These things are worth it when considering the value of a nice bike. I guess they would be considerably more expensive when shipped to the UK.

@@michaelmclarney1994 Michael if you’re interested in a set, get in touch with Dynamoto and get a costing on shipping to the UK. You may be pleasantly surprised as they seem to have arrangements with certain carriers. Give it a go as you never know your luck. Stay safe

This is just what I need! In a few months my bike gets a sidecar, I’m having all three wheels changed to the same as the rear. I’ll just need to get another front lifter for the sidecar wheel to support the setup. No more trying to back out of the garage and doing a “y” maneuver while pushing it in my yard, when I could just spin it around 180 degrees in the garage and drive it out. I made a ball bearing ring for the center stand and only used it once. I had to roll up on a piece of wood to get the stand down. (Unsafe and awkward trying to do it by myself) Hopefully this works much better!

The staff at Dynamoto should be happy to help you out with an additional front lifter. Sounds like an interesting setup that you’re creating and should be fantastic for long distance touring. I would love see some images when completed. Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to share your project.

Sure, no problem. The rig is a 2019 r1250gsa and the sidecar is the DMC expedition model. My email is matt.hallgren@gmail.com

Dynamoto was very helpful! They suggested three universal front lifters for my sidecar setup. The wife just ordered them in the black color for us. : )

Is just having the rear dynamoto stand enough to move your bike around easily?
@len1250
@len1250 3 года назад
Good video. They have the option of buying the rear stand only. Can you still maneuver the bike with only the rear one?
@TheMotorradRider
@TheMotorradRider 3 года назад
You can but no where as easily as when you have the front wheel mounted on one. Remember that the weight of the bike is transferred slightly forward and therefore onto the front wheel so moving directly sideways will be nearly impossible. Hope that makes sense and thanks for the kind words and watching the video.

I'm slow to decide on a purchase; I research items before committing to them. This is PRECISELY the video I had been hoping to find. Thank you! This coming Tuesday I'll be receiving an ABBAS Sky Lift stand; it is compact and useful, especially for working on a bike at eye level. My garage is very compact, so I've been searching for an alternate dolly to place in front of my car for easy in/out with the bike. While I notice that your garage floor is bare; do you think that it will have any problem rolling over thin matting? I'm thinking of covering the entire garage floor - don't have to do it, simply want a clean and efficient garage environment.
@TheMotorradRider
@TheMotorradRider 3 года назад
There is nothing wrong with making sure that you know what you are getting prior to purchase. I am pretty sure, that due to the diameter and structure of the wheels, that they will cope with thin matting. The Dynamoto stands cope with small stones, zip ties etc., joins in concrete flooring and rubber matting ok so I would assume they would not be too bad on thin matting (but not as well obviously as a smooth hard surface). Might I suggest working out what is more important for you......the ease of moving your bike or the matting. If the former wins, then get the stands and then get a sample of the matting to try for ease of moving your bike. If the latter wins, then hopefully when (if), you get the stands, everything works how you planned. I hope this has helped and I would like to thank you for taking the time to watch the video, ask your question and your kind words.

@@TheMotorradRider Sorry for the delayed response; I'm 18 hours away from you and it was 2AM when I initially commented. A floor covering is not necessary; I was simply toying with the notion of enhancing the appearance of the area. Considering that I live in a seismically active area, my garage floor is smooth and free of cracks or expansion joints. I have work mats that are rolled up when not in use. I'm going to order the Dynamoto unit. Thanks, I appreciate your help.
@TheMotorradRider
@TheMotorradRider 3 года назад
No problems at all about the response time. Before you order, send the boys at Dynamoto an email and tell them that you have been in touch with me and that you decided to buy the stand due to seeing it on my channel and they MAY help you out with price or postage. Let me know how you go. Stay safe.

@@TheMotorradRider Thank you, I certainly will mention your thorough how-to video to them! I'm gathering all of this material BEFORE buying a motorcycle. Clarification: this will be my 7th bike, but I stopped riding a number of years ago; gave away all my tools and motorcycle-related paraphernalia save a custom-made track suit. I finally realized after years that the single thing that has been missing in my life is motorcycles.

How easily does the bike roll once on the stands? My garage has a slight decline and I’m concerned it may roll.
@TheMotorradRider
@TheMotorradRider 3 года назад
Thanks for the great question. If you notice how the wheels are made, they are formed by a series, for want of a better description, ‘beads’ and therefore the rolling action is not quite like that of a conventional ’round’ wheel. The only way I can describe it is there is a light ‘staccato’ effect when you move the stands and you feel this each time you use them. This effect prevents the stands from rolling uncontrollably and the wheels are used extensively in many industry sectors for this very, amongst others, reason. I doubt your garage would be steep enough to cause the stands to roll uncontrollably but if you have further concerns, jump onto the Dynamoto website and drop them an email and broach the question from the manufacturer. Hope that helps and again thanks for watching the video and asking the question.

Can the stand wheel be locked when parked on slight slope (5 degree angle slope) ?
@TheMotorradRider

They cannot be locked and is not required due to design of the wheels. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and for asking the question.

I’m really pleased that you’re happy with the Dynamoto stands…..in my opinion, unbeatable in the world of stands. My apologies for not providing more videos but due to many of life’s problems arising, along with business and work, I have been unavailable to make any new content. However, re. the work as mentioned, part of that involves me being a motorcycle marshal for bicycling events and only recently, due to COVID, have they recommenced. Therefore, I have planned, ‘how to’s’ on oil change and brake fluid so stay tuned for those. Again, apologies for being quiet but in the meantime, stay safe and enjoy the Dynamotos.

Could you not have ridden the bike onto two bits of wood under the front and back wheel lifting the bike and retaining the same centre stand swing onto the dolly. Two bits of board would have been cheaper.
@TheMotorradRider
@TheMotorradRider 3 года назад
Of course that is possible to do but once on the dolly, the bike is no where as easy to manoeuvre in very tight spaces as it is when on the Dynamoto system. With the dolly the front wheel is still firmly on the ground whereas with the Dynamoto the front wheel moves easily as it has it's own frame and wheel system. Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment.
