In 2016 - The Omen's 40th Anniversary - 20th Century Fox released a special 4k screening of the film in select cinemas. This was to herald a new 4k Blu-ray release later that year. But then those plans were unceremoniously scrapped.
Fast-forward to 2019 - Shout! Factory has released a new Blu-ray collection featuring all four original Omen movies plus the 2006 remake. This "Deluxe Edition" uses the 4k scan of "The Omen" as the source for their new 1080p Blu-ray - and it looks amazing. The collection also boasts a slew of new bonus content - including new interviews with cast and crew and a limited edition lithograph.
