I still own the original 12 volumes that 4Kids released through Funimation back then, and I gotta say I can't believe how nice the DiscoTek set is. It looks like a lot of care went into it, definitely better looking than the original 4Kids release where they basically used the same stock art over and over again. I don't usually double dip on shows, but for this one I might.
I was always confused as a kid watching this as to why they never made something else exactly like sonic x, it was the perfect anime for sonic, and the only one as far as i know, still dont got mine, gave it to a friend in like 2nd grade and never got it back, rip
I've already got all 2 sets of Sonic X (Only in English). Now all I gotta do is wait and see if the Japanese version of Sonic X will be released on DVD.
I've already got the complete series of Sonic X on SDBD Blu- ray this year so I can enjoy watching the episodes but I still prefer the english version so I can be able apper to understand what the characters are saying . It's great that SDBD [Blu-ray] have realeased past cartoon/anime series like Adventure of Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Sharks, Beyblade, Shaman King, Dinosaur King, Sonic X and Ulitmate Muscle. I'm hoping they'll continued to released past Cartoon/anime Series that weren't given a chanced like my favourites Cardcaptors (Nelvana), Spider Riders, Yo Kai Watch, Mucha Lucha, Creepy Crawliers, Biker Mice From Mars, Blazing Dragon, Wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa, Mary Kate and Ashley in Action and maybe other Gormiti series that were given a chance to be released like Gormiti : The Neorganic Evolution (season 3), Gormiti Nature Unleashed and Gormiti: Heralds of Gorm.
I am SO glad that the show finally is getting a proper DVD release that won't burn through my wallet. I did manage to snag one of the earlier dvd releases for about 15 Canadian dollars (I was lucky to find it at such a low price) and I'll still probably keep it for on the go purposes, but this along with the upcoming volume 2 are on my christmas list. I have only seen a few episodes but I am very interested in seeing the whole series. So far I'd consider it as my third favorite Sonic show (second favorite is Sonic Boom and first favorite is SatAm) I will give it credit for being the most accurate to the games than any of the other shows.
WOW You got The Sonic X DVD Collection Me too I got season 1,2 and 3 Collection i'm So SORRY that Your Not Really a Sonic X Fan but I am I LOVE Sonic X it puts me in a Good mood but at least You got the DVD Collection Anyway
+SEGAbits or Rightstuf.com if you get it during one of their sales and especially if you add in the automatic discount if you're already a premium member. I always prefer that anime shop site after Amazon keeps messing with my anime orders I stopped using them.
mulletfox SEGA didn't approve it, likely because it is a false representation of Sonic X which is really its own thing and is more closely tied to the Dreamcast and GameCube games
They changed it so that it matched up with the artwork style for the upcoming volume 2 (beats me why they couldn't just make volume 2 also look like a Mega Drive cover)
+Jambopaul The Gamer in Pyjamas the change happened because Sega themselves rejected the artstyle when Discoteck / Eastern Star proposed the initial cover art. Sega's reason was they wanted an artstyle more closer to modern sonic than the old sega genesis/mega drive look
The show was mastered in SD, so an HD release would be impossible. Best they could do is cram the entire series on one blu-ray, like Pizza Cats, but it would still all be in SD.
The Distributor said that if this DVDs sold well, they were going to try to release the japanese dub, also, they couldn t include the japanese version because the timing is different.
