Terry, I have a set of 14” 505 Medium Hi Hats from 1984 … love them! I also have another extra 14” 505 Medium Bottom that goes well with my Paiste 2000 Regular SE Bottom! That’s a winning hi hat pairing! The 2000 regulars and sound reflectors are another awesome line from Paiste! Great find!
Question. A pair of 14” Giant Beat hats. Giant beat black label at 12 o’clock position above the bell. HI-HAT TOP AND HI-HAT BOTTOM at the 6 o’clock positions. Paiste made in Switzerland Black label hollow logo on under side of both cymbals. Would this be 1973 year? Or do you know what year this would be? No serial number. And no embossed stamp. With the underside inking that puts them as 2005-present. 14" original GB hats aren't common. The ads almost always just mentioned the 15, 18, 20, 24 thing, but 14" were offered for sure.They would almost certainly be black letter, but undersides would have no inking.
The currently offered PST 5 line is the current version of what was the 502 line. Same type of overall shape and mojo. The 505 came earlier (70s) and was just one step below the 2002.
