Still waiting on them to repair my M17r5. It only lasted 5 days. Got it and 5 days after using it, it did a bios update and went blank. That's it nothing after that. They said its a faulty mother board and that they will fix it since its under warranty and premium support. Its close to 4 months now and still not fixed with no hop. Waste of my money.
dude, i had the same problem here in Brazil with my Alien m15r6 they replaced the motherboard and after that worked nice, but this whole process last about 3 weeks.
If it’s under premium warranty they send a technician to your house it will not need to be sent out unless a technician can’t get to that specific location. Overseas it can take a very long time (weeks). I have had that issue before with the motherboard 5 months after due to a faulty wire but everything was still running fine (games, movies, etc) it was just for the back lighting and was promptly fixed the next day by a technician. I have t had any issues since and been going on for 2-3 years now. I don’t know why you had such a problem and why you needed to send it out unless you’re overseas or in a location Dell can’t get to.
@@TheSonoranSniper Ultra is 1st gen after Intel 14th gen. I noticed the m18 can use 14th gen chips, i.e., 14700K. The m16 goes from 13th gen to Ultra series.
I don’t know if you care on watching Portuguese vids, but a RU-vidr called Lucas ishi tested and compared with the previous gen This one performed worse on cinebench but gaming was pretty similar
The big problem is that you cannot upgrade it to the RTX 4080 or RTX 4090, otherwise I would have purchased the R2 model, but stuck with the M16 R1. Now NVIDIA is coming out with the 50 series of RTX gaming cards.
