Unboxing the Kindle Scribe 💙 + First Impressions 

I to think it's incredibly stupid that nothing comes with charging blocks anymore. I lose them all the time and they often stop working. And your animals were making me laugh.

You convinced me to get a kindle paperwhite when my Barnes and Noble nook started malfunctioning. I love my kindle. I love how i can read for longer periods of time with the kindle vs a physical book. I am a cataract patient. Reading physical books is almost impossible. Thanks for your videos. They’re so helpful.

Finally, a booktuber doing a review on the scribe! I hope that they do hopefully update some software things and hopefully make the e-ink tablet.

The fact that you’re also left handed makes me so excited because I only ever see right handed reviews of e-ink. Seeing a fellow lefty review the scribe makes me trust it more (if that makes sense lol)

I purchased the Kindle Scribe this week and love it so far! I primarily use my kindle Oasis for reading, but I’ve been waiting for a large screen like this to read on, outside of my iPad Air. Like you said, an e-ink display is so much more enjoyable to read on. I can’t put it down, and the battery life is amazing! The Scribe is definitely my primary reading device now. It’s great being able to enlarge the font, while still maintaining a lot of text on the screen.

Finally, a fellow book lover’s perspective. I use my iPad for serious note-taking. I love my Scribe and my Oasis for reading and annotating my books. I have the same silicone on both devices because I can’t stand the bulk of the cases. I export the books I want to write directly on to PDF and send to my Kindle, otherwise I use the notes.

Thanks for doing this review! I have an oasis, and just purchased the scribe over a week ago now,….. I can say that while I do like the oasis, it’s got glitches. And in less than a year, I needed it replaced because it completely froze on me. It happened right after it was out of warranty, but I was able to get Amazon to just replace it last week too. As a huge reader, I’m really loving the scribe! I’ve found the battery life really great so far. It’s faster than the oasis and any fires I’ve had in the past. And it charges extremely quick too, which is a huge plus! Hope you love it as much as I am. Hope I continue to love it. Crossing my fingers.

I loveeee my scribe! Just if u drop the pen it will break the tip. Only had it since it came out and had to replace the tip cuz I my ferret dropped the pen lol 😅 but it was easy to replace!

Congratulations on your purchase. I've been using my Kindle Scribe for a month now and it is perfect for reading. It is like reading from a big hardcover book but without the weight. I also have Kindle Paperwhite 11th generation and I love that one too. The two Kindles serve different purposes.

I currently have a Paperwhite 2021 and a Basic 2022 and am very happy with them. The Scribe is appealing but the price keeps me from it.

I HATE that you can’t handwrite notes with audible books. That, to me, is INSANE. Who types while listening? And, I wish it were the size of an iPad mini for portability.

I was wanting this but to be honest the same note features are on the tablet app so I am passing. I love KOBO. You can actually write on the ebook with KOBO none of the post it note crap like on scribe

I love my kindle scribe. I send sudoku puzzles to it. Lol. I do accidentally push the button when writing so I had to change the shortcut to pen so it wouldn’t change to the highlighter in the middle of writing.

Would love to see an update video on how you like the scribe now. It has been hard to find a true review from a fellow readers and kindle lover. I have a scribe but I don't make videos.

Strongly considering getting this for technical books/research papers. The regular 6" kindle display is not ideal for those types of books that have formulas, graphs, etc

It’s a great product but i seriously want to urge amazon to provide side by side reading and writing feature because that’s how we take notes …and it would be an ultimate feature at this price point… PS cute doggo😀

I’m a lefty, too and oriented my Scribe with the large bar on the right. That way I can easily hold it with my right hand and use my left for writing or annotating. Great to have a review by a reader as opposed to negative commentary about the limited writing features. Audio books are great, too! #newsub

I have been going back and forth and just cannot decide. I love my iPad mini and how I use the notes and such. But I have chronic migraines and I really like the size of this kindle

I always write "hello this is my new pen" when I get a new pen. I've never felt more seen then right now.

Great review. When I first saw the scribe I didn't think it was something I would want but now the thought of having a journal and books all in one place is appealing. Does it have diary pages? It's just the size. Way too big. I hope they make a smaller one eventually.

Thank you for this video! It’s a very good comparison of both Kindles! I really liked the idea of the popsocket on the little Kindle! I just bought one and I‘m very thankful, because reading is much more comfortable now!!!

I think i like the notes better, i know everyone wants to write on their books but i feel like it would get lost in the pages. Where as with the annotations you can pull them up all at once.

I have a Remarkable 2, but I've been waiting for Kindle to do a larger Kindle for a long time. Evaluating it only as a Kindle you can write on and not a writing table, one big thing I wish is that the pen button was rotated 90 degrees so it's facing you when magnetically attached, and that you could choose for the button to be a Next Page buttton. When using the official case, it has support behind the pen that it would have worked perfectly. You could even flip the pen around point up or point down to have two options for how high or low you want the button to me. It's a missed opportunity.

Thanks this helped a lot. I’m learning Japanese and have kindle workbooks. When this released I wanted it to work in the notebooks. From what you showed. It’s disappointment for what I want to use it for. Because I do want to write right in the book. So basically good notes on the iPad can do the pdf import like scribe to write on stuff. Sad that they couldn’t provide something that doesn’t do more.

Good review, disappointing product. It doesn’t seem to be much different than the Paperwhite, which you can add the same kind of notes to, just not hand-written. The size and added weight would be cumbersome to me. I definitely prefer GoodNotes for note-taking. It’s amazing for PDFs. I hope it’s features can be used on any ebook some day. I can see a college student maybe wanting the notepad feature on the Scribd to be accessible with the book.

I bought it 100% for reading, never use it for writing. There is definitely room on this Scribe to have the buttons like my Oasis, they really should have added those.

Lol, this is the review I was looking for as an avid reader. I'm honestly not too interested in the note taking aspect of it, though it certainly will be used, but more into the bigger screen. (And b/c it's new😊)

I left Kindle this Christmas. My son, a tech guy, bought me the Kobo Clara 2e. I love the size and the weight. It is also waterproof for pool and beach time this summer.

My husband just bought me a scribe for my birthday and I absolutely love it. I love my paper white for on the go but the scribe is nice to read on at home. I love how big it is and like you, I hate reading on an ipad. Thank you for this awesome video!

I think when you erase there is an afterimage until the screen refreshes. It doesn't refresh as frequently as other types of display - which I think contributes to the longer battery life.

It seems like the people who designed this also designed the onyx boox note air 2. They are very similar in size and functions..

I really have enjoyed the Scribe. I love the battery life, even leaving the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on it lasts for a couple of weeks or more. I also realized that you can change the screen picture when you aren’t using it to the cover of your current read. To me this has been one of the features lacking from most kindle readers. I often want to appreciate the cover art and you generally don’t see 5he covers much except in the library section or shelf. I’ve taken all kinds of notes and really like the ability to use this. I hope you have liked yours as well.

I source my books from other places than amazon, so I was happy with my kindle keyboard... but it won't hold a charge (not an issue with the battery but the kindle) so I bought a 7th gen paperwhite for 40 bucks. I absolutely love it. Maybe I'll get an oasis or scribe one day cause I read for 5+ hours a day at work and home

Thanks for the review, was thinking on getting this one, but after looking the writing feature in action, I'll get the paperwhite and stick to my tablet to take notes.

I could see this being a good choice if you were a student doing a book report or research paper.

I use my kindle with pop sockets as well! I hate not having them

I got it for xmas and use it mostly for reading at home and I do love it! I got the kindle scribe leather case which its really good too and im able to have it standing while I do my makeup and read. If you don't have a kindle I would say probably still go for a smaller and cheaper model and If it does fit your budget then- get the scribe. I see it more as a high end reading device nice to have. Thanks for your video!
