Might get a 2500d depending on how long it takes to get them here in nsw south Coast usually last stores to get everything due to logistics batemans bay unless i get to call the rep for secret sneaky fast track love my 2 double clutches 115s that noone down here has yet 😂😂
I’d love to be able to test and use Daiwa reels and rods in the North East USA for Striper, salmon , trout and flounders. I’d be a great advertiser on RU-vid as well. I do have a Daiwa for jigging big bottom fish and love it. I fish salt and fresh water both. From the rocks and kayak. From the mountains of Maine and coastline in various places to Florida. Bending rods and tight lines is my game. My only habit is fishing and the Tug is the drug !!! I don’t think that’s a bad thing. ❤🎣🏔🎣🌊💯
@@RonaldMcCoolguy pretty sure F is for front drag and the E is the generation of reel. Every time they update the letter goes up e.g. 2019 Stradic was FL which got updated last year and is now called FM
The "C" stands for compact size in reels. Team Daiwa is an Australian only line up so things such as the td blacks, sols, commanders and anything with "TD" is australian only. Team Daiwa is designed here in Australia and isn't available anywhere else in the world. Pretty awesome lineup from Daiwa and love these videos briggsy. Bought my own cerate after watching ypur last video.
That's wild that everything TD is Aus only, some of the best midrang gear is TD, I'm rattled for everyone OS now haha. Hopefully they have their own similar models in their countries. Cheers for the info Mate!
Available in new Zealand aswell, wasn't a fan of the older models they were nice reels but not durable I found at least in my case, these look nice hopefully they hold up long term
Yeah I can’t really find the reels but I sure can find the TeamDaiwa surf rods almost everywhere. Just bought a 10’6” TD surf rod to pair with my Shimano ultegra 5000 w/ PE2 for 50-120g sticks and jigs. Casts a MILE. Amazing stuff from the TD line. 🤙🏾
hey Briggsy, great video mate. I just want say thank you for teaching me and so many other fisherman how to fish and what gear to use. great job on the new trev pb brah.
hey briggsy, love all of your vids but the very few more personal/sit down/unboxing videos are awesome and would definitely be keen if theres more to come!
I reckon a shallow spool 2500 would make a mint whiting and flatty reel. Might have to get me one of those then i can finally retire the old 3500 stradic and get like a 4000 size saltiga for my multipurpose inshore reel. Complete the quiver
Pre servicing those beautiful reels so important Briggsy. Correct amount of grease and sealing around the bearings and body back seal is must to prevent salt water getting in
Hey Briggsy, sick little vid mate these new td blacks sound so good haha. I’d really love to see you fish the beach gutters again like you used to with sonny, i’m sure many people would enjoy seeing you back out there flicking the surf again. cheers mate love your vids, yeww 🙌🔥
Hi Mate, yeah I’m very keen to flick the beaches and have had a couple failed sessions because of swell. We’ve had 6 months of 1-4m swell with wild wind and rain! Those gutter flicking films are on 0.5m swell days and we just haven’t had a shot all year! I’ll be out there as soon as it drops 🤙
On Daiwa reels at least, the small round silver sticker on the reel foot indicates the size of the body, you will find some seemingly different size reels are actually the same size body.
Great video mate! I’d love to hear your thoughts on left vs right hand reel. I noticed your last vid was left handed. I grew up being told as a right hander you cast/ hold rod with your right and turn the handle with your left 🤷♂️
hey Briggsy love the content keep it up, what are your thoughts on the new td black look in my opinion i think it look bad the old reel had a better design but the 24 td performs better
Just thought I'd slip into the comment section like I was wearing a pair of @JEWildsFishing water shoes, and say the "C" stands for compact, but half a dozen other KINGS already beat me to it. Nice to have some new light tackle toys for that family, winter, estuary session. Must be back on the hunt for a meter Flatty aye? Surely the @malosilures boys have got a secret weapon in the arsenal for ya mate! 😉🤙🎣 #tightlines
Got myself a cheap combo from Big W 30 years ago and it’s still working. These new reels only last a few years then your better off buying a new one as the repairs cost way too much.
Is there a purple tinge to them or is that just my monitor? I bought one from the last series but my biggest criticism was the matte look made it look and feel like a toy. Loving the new look
When it comes to reels i am interested in drag washer size. For example the 2500s has 5kg drag and the 2500d had 10kg. I would have thought the shallow spool would have housed a bigger drag washer. My legalias LT 2500 has 10kg with a 23mm drag washer. Where my older sedona/ sienna/ nexave 4000 with deep spools has 21mm. Its crazy i can fish a 2500 size reel with the new technology, spool 300m 15lb line and catch a +70cm fish no problem.
Hi there would you consider a collab with Gido? When he asked what we would like to see I suggest a trip with you for GTs...maybe you could also go cliff fishing with him. He would love it he said...just a crazy idea of mine, but it would be awesome!
The new td black mq. Looks like the new tatula spinning reel mq. But if i can get it for free i will take it. LoL 😅 😆 🤣 Thanks for your nice video always 👌
Pros: Low weights, gear ratio, design and color way. Cons: Mag seal and (apparently) carbon drag. I don't know quite what this is, it seems neither here, nor there. A mid-range finesse line, but not really with the mag seal and the carbon drag washers. It's not super expensive, but not cheap either. 10kg drag force on a 2500 reel... Yeah, maybe once. Anyway, why? Those reels don't need more than 2-3kg. I get it, Daiwa wants us to look at these as tough reels, but practically it makes no sense. Good marketing though. Went to Anaconda today and checked it out. The 2500 is slightly tempting. Definitely looks very good, if black is your thing. The 2000 is not going to be useful for any finesse/ultralight style fishing. Maybe it wasn't mag sealed.. but as it stands, the resistance from the rotor, that startup inertia is really bad. I do like the smoothness, and I also do like the fact they don't spin free like the new Certates. In other words, the Air Drive seems a lot more tamed and that's a good thing IMO. Comparable to Vanford, but smoother and 10g lighter in the 2500 size.
I wish we had that reel here in the states. Also, how has the expedition braid been treating you, been thinking about purchasing some and getting it shipped here to the States
Hi Mate, pretty same same as the JBraid grand, no issues for me. I like Saltiga EX for heavy tackle (PE6 and up) and JBraid Grand or Expo for everything else 👍
Amazing unboxing by the new Daiwa TD. I have one question that is happening to me every time since I am using your FG knot. I am using it in big game setup, medium setup and super light; all rods have SIC rings. Using your FG knot with (a fluorocarbon one and a half rods) according to the diameter of the braid, it turns around in the first ring starting from the tip of the rod, slowing down the cast and occasionally breaking the new line losing a lure. Do you not think that the fluorocarbon line could be long and trip over the rings turning around? I use Daiwa saltiga UVF Durasensor 8x PE4 braid with Varivas Ocean record Shock leader 90lb also medium setup Varivas premium quality Braid PE1.5 max 31LP with Fluorocarbon of 0.40-0.47mm. I think it is super compensate with the diameters. Let me know or guys what do you think? Thank you
Hi Mate, I don't like Fluorocarbon, I don't trust it, had a knot explode once many years ago and never used it ever again. Mono works perfect, I never have issues so I stick to that!
Something to consider; Saltist has zinc main gear, Saragosa has aluminium. Saltist has no bearing in line roller, Saragosa has bearing in line roller. Saltist can’t open body for maintenance , Saragosa can be opened with simple and easily available tools. Saltist has 12mth warranty, Saragosa has 10 yr warranty.
@@Chazfishesive just moved to tassie but in nsw the gossa but my dads got a 10000 for sharks but even then he preferred baitrunners, but my fav is daiwa bg, if thats helps
You could've invited a reel maintainer from your favorite tackle shop, and that way you can get technical. I wish we could have TackleAdvisor back, but there is no hope since he is working for Daiwa now, detailed reel videos are very few
@@Daiwa_Is_King tried to offer something constructive, but it appears not everyone got it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 which part of the above text says i do not like the video?
I have a legit question, I noticed in your vids you turn your gopro on after the strike but it still captures the strike, and the beep! how tf do you do that??? make this top comment so he sees! Cuz I really need to know because I have 4tb of me just popping with nothing💀and If I could figure this out it would be a lifesaver. Imma comment on other vids so he sees.
