Love my silverbelly open road and my straw open road. Only issue is that I will have to get another straw for next years warm weather. My current one served me well in the California desert, but is hell to clean dirt, dust and staining. Love it none the less.
great info on the XXXXXX's for the straw and shantung meaning - I've been after one of these for summer (keep the sun off my face and outta my eye) good stuff sir , sub left
Do they offer choices in interior shape; long oval, round, rectangle, etc. When I worked as a Park Ranger I found the band shape makes a big difference in fit, even in the same sizes.
I plan on doing a comparison video between the 6x Open Road straw hat and the 10X Open Road straw hat in the near future and discussing them in detail.
I like my hats and have one Stetson straw and one felt, I especially like a Panama Straw and have several of those fringing in costs from $20 to $160 costs and felt from $60 to 100 primarily won’t for head warmth in winter and summer for sun shade do to skin cancer protection plus I just like the way they look
I bought this hat after watching this video i also got the fur felts and this guy was right i get a lot of compliments wearing this hat. The only bad thing is they are hard to get in mexico unless you live upnorth close to texas
The Open Road has always been one of my favorites! And I personally prefer the lighter color to the darker color. By the way... Did you order yours in the "long oval" size option? I wear a 7 1/8 and years ago couldn't figure out why just any 7 1/8 hat wouldn't fit me right out of the box... Then a Hatter taught me that hats were available in "round" and "long oval" shapes... It turns out that I take that Long Oval model. Like anything else, hats can get to be a sort of addiction... I think my collection is pushing fifteen or twenty now🙄 Cheers
Many thanks for watching. It is becoming harder and harder to hide the growing number of Stetson boxes from my wife. I'm ordering the vented straw in the Toast color, as well, because, as you noted, hats can become a bit of an addiction.
Good video, thanks. Good luck with the cancer! I have had a few minor brushes and am wearing a "crusher" hat now. All of your videos seem to be about hats, but there are B-24 Liberators in your lead-in. Whatup wit dat? Talk some airplanes with us.
Paper hats are for birthday parties. Not men. I can only laugh at your Chinese paper hat. Many people know what "shantung" 'straw', actually is. Now, how much did you pay for that paper hat?????????????? Ya know, Stetson makes some great hats but they make a lot of crap too and that paper hat is part of their expensive garbage market. If I wanted a paper hat I would go to the novelty store where the price would be more inline with the product. Akubra beats the hell out of Stetson for the same reasons Stetson used to beat everyone. Stetson makes some great stuff but this paper hat is not the great stuff list. Its on the we can sell anything with our name on it.
