From day one I've had issues with the bumper button. Original seriers same issue. All they did was give it a new paint job and nit fixing the problems like somehow a new look would sweep away old problems. This controller is fantastic when it works.
Had to return the Series 2 controller 3 times before I got a remote that didn’t have button issues. Even then the fourth one ended up with a sticky X button and now an inconsistent RB button 🤦🏽♂️
I love the Elite, but I agree that this is one of the few times an extended warranty is absolutely worth it. Got 6 years out of my Elite 1 thanks to trading it in on warranty.
@@AgWhatsUp yeah same here. 3 damn times. 2 bumper issues and one had insane stick drift only like a month after buying it. I spent $80 for a new one after the warranty ended through MS and its been holding up so far.
If only this controller wouldn't be packed with planned obsolescence. The non-removable battery, rubber grips and joysticks with a limited lifetime make this product an absolute no-go...
So their controllers not only suffer stick drift way more regularly than other Xbox controllers, but they decided to sell the paddles separately? MS being MS I guess.
@@tylerf6583 I should’ve clarified with my original comment; “other controllers” was in reference to other Xbox controllers, whether OEM or third party vendors like BattleBeaver, Scuf, Razer, etc. Original post edited for clarity.
never once did i experience stick drift on ANY of my 360 controllers. But once Xbox One rolled around problems with controller exploded. i’ve ran into stick drift on day one of a new controller purchase. it’s not a stretch to say that Microsoft intentionally caused this to increase sales
I loved my elite series 2, it developed an issue with one of the rear paddles. Returned it under warranty on 6 Dec for UPS to lose the parcel and have been struggling horrifically with Microsoft to get it replaced. Over a month later and I am still trying to get the situation resolved. Customer service from Xbox is beyond awful. This is all from a die-hard Xbox fan, and it truly pains me to say.
I really do want to get the Core controller. Re black and white look sleek together….. I’m just not a fan of the rocker pad, though. So either way I’d have to pay full price to include the Complete Component Pack.
@@alanmcd Wouldn’t matter. You still pay for both separately and that’s a lot of $ to buy from Amazon to begin with. I know GameStop has the controller now, XBox store, too. What I don’t know is whether GameStop has the complete Component Pack.
Hey bex I don't know about getting that Elite Series core 2 controller it been breaking again lately people have been posting there controllers saying this controller is the same as the old Elite 2 controller i might wait to get the 3 series or I'll just get the Xbox Scuf Controller
I dunno on this…. The 1st elite controller had rubber problems!!! The palm area rubber grips kept coming unglued…..Countless time glueing it back down. I eventually gave up and got a regular controller.
Just curious, doesn't the 180 dollar version of the controller come with all the components and stuff, and the component pack is just for if you got the version with just the controller? I just got the 180 dollar one and almost bought a component pack as well
To everyone that says they had problems with a Series 2 it's most likely because of the factory that made it and you also have to take into account how rough you were with it because being rough on anything will eventually cause it to brake. Half of the elite series 2 controllers have had no problems, for me my normal series 2 controller has had no problems since 2019 and my Halo series 2 controller works amazingly. I also have had the original elite controller since 2015 its had the worst problems. My problems with the elite series 1 are my grips fell off and I had to replace it with 3rd party grips I found on Amazon. Also one of my sticks got drift and that happened after I had dropped it a lot, I'm lucky that my bumpers did screw up because the series 1 is based of a 2014/2015 Xbox one controller.
@@Litu_Hawkgreat to hear thank you, picked mine up after Christmas and it’s pretty damned good! Keeping the case open on it as it seems like the mesh is quite tight against the sticks. Fingers crossed with good care mine holds up as well as they all should
//take into account how rough you were with it// It's supposedly a premium, pro controller. They even advertise that it won't break easily. Clearly that is false.
Owned two Xbox elite 2 controllers. Sent one in on warranty for the right bumper failing. Sent me a band new one. Right bumper failed on that one as well a month later. No more warranty. Now it's a $250 paper weight.
Honestly I really don't need this. Its cool but I'm totally fine with my Series S Controller. Never had any stick drift with all of my controllers in the last years btw. Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X two times and now Series S.
So they sell it as a different pack? I have a series 2 controller but my bumpers don’t respond anymore. Do these accessories work on the older series 2 or no?
@@franciscosantos103 Yes, everything that works with a regular controller or Elite works with it. The only real difference is that they made the Elite Series 2 cheap so you can buy the Complete Component Pack separate. That was never the case with any previous Elite controller whereas all the components were included. If you ask me it’s kind of a waste to have to buy them separate from the controller, especially if you’ e never owned 1 before, vs buying everything. If you have 1 of past Elite controllers, though, you don’t really need the component pack because you’d have them already. Although the different colors might look funny.
So I ordered the Component pack and it arrived late do to the blizzard and noticed it was already opened and was missing the two large paddles I took it back to gamestop to get a refund but couldn't because it was past the date to refund it even though it arrived LATE so I talked to the corporate and so they agreed I could get a refund for it praise the lord.
Do not buy! Has the opportunity to be a proper unreal controller but had the original series 2 controller and the bumpers stop becoming responsive after around 2-3 months, not worth the money, this new controllers is the same and has the same issues but with different feel and paint job.
Shame there's nothing worth playing on xbox, seriously no new games, gamepass literally means pass up playing old games or games I've already played or have no interest in. Make some exclusive games that are original, and stop buying up 3rd party and acting like that's some kind of win for anyone. Your controller is dead without new games.
Ok.. So XBOX have new controller but no games.. XBOX is mediocre on this generation, easy W for PlayStation! GOW Ragnarok > every XBOX's exclusives Just a fact!
