Gave you a thumbs up though they are not for me. The video is good. Your bright clean is coming from the Ceramic magnets and thars what I don't like. I prefer the warmer sound of Alnico magnets. There is definitely a place for the tone you git in certain styles. I would have to scoop them and then it probably would kill my tone altogether. Well done video and should help many. It actually helped me remember why I hate ceramic pickups. Ha ha.

I found that in a mix the Wilkinson Classic Tone Ceramic PAF Style Humbucker is clear and very musical. I actually prefer them to the Alnico which is warmer but gets a little lost in the mix. Matter of preference I suppose. I have both. The ceramic in a 338 style guitar and the Alnico in my LP. They are both a real bargain. Thanks for the great video!

Hi just wondering, is this pickup any good for high gain? Im actually planning to change the pickups on my Epi Les Paul Special VE and I want a versatile pickup that doesnt cost much and can play any song genre, oh and one more thing is the pickup wax potted underneath the pickup covers?

Thank you for the demo, how much did you get your Harley Benton LP? I wonder how the playability is compared to an actual Epiphone or Gibson LP.

This is interesting. I've just removed a pair of Wilkinson MWCHB - (NC neck BC bridge) “alnico vintage-style humbuckers” from my 2017 Harley Benton HB-35Plus because they were too dull. They got a bit clearer when lowered with raised pole pieces but not the satisfying semi-acoustic sound I was after. Supposedly 'Alnico PAF type' … I've fitted a set of Iron Gear Blues Engine and they have really done the trick. While I was in there I put 2K2R resistors in the split-coil circuit and changed the tone wiring to 50s style. The curious thing is, I have another Harley Benton, the DC-Custom also 2017 which they say has Wilkinson MWCHBA “alnico vintage-style humbucker pickups” . These pickups sound fine, nice range of tones from Clear to Driving, not too Hot. I'll lift the rings next time I change strings and see if they're labelled differently. Maybe that A on the end of the model identifier is making the difference. Later in 2017 they went over to Roswell pickups which I found to have more going on in the upper harmonics than the Wilkinsons. How? I got the SC-450Plus with Roswells for Christmas 2017 … 😉 Maybe the Wilkinsons in my HB35+ got demagnetised ? Or just from a bad batch …

Me wanting a "Les Paul" loving the sound and look have always wanted. 55 and suck I have other cheap guitars things of getting 1{Les Paul}. Im torn, im not going to bore u with all the details but maybe u what would do. Budget of $500 or less. Buy the best guitar Epiphone Les Paul Classic , Muse, Studio...or 1 of the $200 amazon specials maybe upgrade the pickups to something like this and get a "Boss GT1 or a Zoom G3 " and try and get the sound from something like that? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Do you have the tone rolled back? Not hearing any bright or treble sound. Nice looking burst.
