I think that is the only difference between Catholic and Protestant books. So if I’m right, this is a Bible which would be the same as a Catholic Bible but in the Premium Edition. There’s a NRSV updated edition just come out from Zondervan, with apocrypha/deuterocanonical books contained in it. Nice goatskin black and also edgelined leather. (Helpful - hopefully - Protestant here, & Calvinist Presbyterian too boot😉)

@@iainmurphy7244 the nrsv seems awesome and looks so good! But for preference of translation, I would love nabre or rsvce. I found nrsv uses a lot of "overall" words in place of more specific ones, especially when referring to the grave instead of Sheol, sins, etc. But the purple nrsv looks awesome!

Catholics believe that the Apocrypha are to be included in the Bible that weren't added until the 16th century. They were never mentioned in the New Testament, not in any of the Gospels or Epistles. Their teachings are made up of a lot of tradition that really wasn't taught in scripture, the papacy, worshipping Mary, continuing the priesthood, and works based salvation. I love Catholics, I understand that they do not all think the same, but they have some heretical beliefs if you really look inside their church. May God have mercy on us.

@@Benjaminhill4408 um actually, they were already included in the bible, it wasn't until the 16th century that the books were taken out. Douay Rheims was created just before KJV was initially released. The manuscripts such as 1 &2 Maccabees, Judith, Sirach, Baruch, Tobit, and the book of Wisdom were already introduced into synagogues at least 100 years before Jesus' time, meaning that these were even being taught to the children in the 3 main Hebrew schools in Jerusalem. Many people don't know where the origin of Hanukkah comes from, it comes from Maccabees when the Jewish people were celebrating being freed from oppression. Antiochus was just as awful as King Herod if not worse. The book of Judith can be taken literally or not, it is a great example of a win for the Jewish people against the Nebuchadrezzar, which could either be the same Neb as in Daniel but people still aren't sure. Either way this is actual Jewish history. A majority of these writings were introduced by the Hasideans, which later became the Essenes, Pharisees, and Sadducees. A majority of the bibles documents that were found come from what is believed to be the caves of the Essenes. These were the people supposedly, that John the Baptist would have been with in the wilderness. It was a completely selfless sect of the Jewish people's. The council of Nicaea established the Nicene Creed which many denominations use today. It wasn't until the council of Trent around the protestant reformation that the books were removed, this was around 1545-1563. I highly recommend to buy a catechism of the church instead of going by hearsay or media about Catholics. The catechism has what the church actually teaches. The term Catholic means universal, as in everyone under Christ is part of the same family. Did you know that even Luther believed in the holiness of Mary, did the sign of the cross, and believed in Purgatory? It was also a common protestant belief until the puritans wrote a letter stating they didn't want to believe that, and it further went away once Darby introduced dispensationalism at the end of the enlightenment period. This spread throughout America mainly. Darby was actually trained by St. John Neumann, who used to be an Anglican priest. I thought that was a cool fact. Much love and blessings brother.
