In this unboxing video, I take a look at a pistol I have wanted for my collection for a long time. This is the Walther PPK, chambered in .380 Auto. The PPK has not been offered for a long time in the U.S. due to importation restrictions and the main variant offered was the PPK/s with the longer grips. I always wanted the original. This new version is also in stainless steel and comes in a very nice box. I am happy to finally have one in my collection.

It’s nice to see someone buy a gun just because, no tactical advantage, doesn’t have to hold a ton of ammo, just because you like it!

Archer carries a stainless👍 I'll take a stainless and a black one please😁 I like the flush mag. It looks so much cleaner

The slides are still made in Germany (Ulm). The rest is done in Fort Smith, Arkansas, USA.

that ones made by smith and wesson in 380acp are nearly unuseable...i own one....the spring is soooo strong that it is nearly impossible to cock the gun

I love the Walther PPK. No offense to anyone but, these are not the classic P series that we are used to. I have a 1972 PPK/S and a Arkansas made PPK/S. I had a WW 2 model as well. The German models were so much nicely finished. The new models have sharp edges and the finishes suck. S&W destroyed this pistol. Bring back the beautiful polished blue and smoother edges.

I've looked at ppk's before and wasn't too impressed with the finish, then I saw an old Walther pp at a gun show and the fit and finish was muuuch better. I really wish that I would have had enough money to buy it.

Correction pal, Smith and Wesson was *licensed* to produce Walther firearms. Hence the P99/SW99 back in the day.

I'd buy one if they didn't cost so much. I think $850 is about $300 too much. If you can get a Beretta 92fs or a CZ 75 for around $600 then surely these could be sold for less than $600.I do really like them, but it is a small, heavy, low capacity, blowback pistol with a heavy trigger.

Man, I have been wanting to get one of these. Especially one of the engraved ones on gunbroker. Is this one produced by smith and wesson? Also, how does it hold up with hallow points? I have heard mixed things about walthers and hallowpoints. Ive got particularly small hands so I am not as concerned about slide bite. Plus, my first carry was a 357, so I can't imagine the recoil is something I could not handle.

I would avoid hollow points, you need good velocity over 1100 ft/sec. With 380 your not getting the velocity needed, your better off jusy going with fmj , it's also not like your going to over Penetrate.

I have one with the walnut grips; only have 50 rounds through it, but it's on my ready to sell list. Great looking pistol but I do not seem to get it out of the safe at all. All my other pistols will get some range time every year. I'm not a collector so it's time to let go.
