Welcome to the Texas Gun Vault. This is a channel were I do long form reviews of firearms, EDC gear and other products as well tutorials and commentary on issues relating to the 2nd Amendment.
CZ rocks! I'm glad they bought it and trashed the old Cold management that destroyed the company. CZ also owns own Dan Wesson on top of everything else they make and sell. Troy had a lot of heat years back from some terrible 2A political stand points, but their irons are top notch and half the price of the "gold standard." They are still the only one that I know of that makes solid "hk style" sights to my knowledge as well.
My fear would be accidentally popping the barrel up while needing to shoot it in a high stress situation. I haven't shot one yet and I am also not Joe Biden with arthritis. I like Beretta and it pretty, but I still don't see it's point especially with what ruger offers. Caliber is another issue. Unless you are doing the assassin thing, I'd expect it to be offered in 22mag or 380acp. This is just a random dude's opinion on the internet. I do however appreciate your well made and informative video.
I own a few high-end ARs... DD, POF, BCM, and my LWRC takes the cake. So well build and boringly reliable. If I ever need a gun to go to hell and back, I will grab my IC-SPR.
Colt just doesn't understand the AR market. All they understand is building guns under contract to the military where they have a TDP to follow. For $2,000, it should have a mid-length gas system and something better than an A2 grip. The ambi controls are nice, but for the money you can do better and still get those features.
While the 22 Bobcat is a well made pistol, it’s better for plinking than for a carry gun. I personally own a 3032 Tomcat in .32ACP and it’s a big step up. Very reliable and the magazines feed flawlessly. For the little price difference I’d go with the .32
I would have to pass. There are better pocket pistols than this. I know its not a pocket pistol but my $177 plastic kel tec P17 is more reliable than the bob cat at close to 1/3 the cost.
I have a thing for pocket guns. I am not allowed such here in the UK. But I do find them interesting for some reason. I always find it interesting that when this type is reviewed the shooting is always over a good few yards (for a tiny round) with carefully aimed shots. It does prove the accuracy of the piece. But surely IRL if you used one it would be a one handed mag dump at say waist height? These are 'get off me guns' after all.
Very early I had to get the metal spacer and it permanently fixed the problem. After about 300 rounds break-in it now shoots all ammo without issue. I carry a 19 so this is great for practice.
I just picked up a 2020 model shadow 2 black/blue that never was fired for $900. I think that was a pretty good deal. Awesome videos as always 👍🏼👍🏼 now I need some grips
We're from the Starbase area but we were in San Antonio selling some pups a couple of years ago and I came across one of these on TGT. We drove out there and took it off the sellers hands. Mine prefers the hotter loads but she's a blast to shoot. I usually open up a range day with her for fun. 🍻
I have owned a 1911A1 Series 70 MK IV since 1976. It is reliable, accurate enough and powerful. It is 100% factory parts except for the grips which long ago one cracked and was replaced with a Pachmyar signature.
Great video and nice job on the build. It's not Factory correct but it's Armory Correct. These have been in service from 1967-2003 way before the M-4. I built mine with a Brownells A1 11½" 1-12" twist barrel,Colt 6 hole CAR handguards, Tapered Delta ring, Luth-Ar slick side upper receiver, A1 rear sight, Essential Arms aluminum CAR stock on a M-4 6 position buffer tube, castle nut instead of spanner nut, Black anodized instead of gray. M-16 Bolt Carrier with black Nitride finish,A1 pistol grip, standard Milspec LPK stoned and mirror polished hammer, trigger and sear. I was absolutely shocked how smooth, light and nimble it is compared to my M-4 SOPMOD Block1 and Block2 carbine's. It's balance point is right at the trigger Gaurd and magwell. I wanted the feel but with the modern coatings and finishes. The plastic mailer card's for cable and Internet made perfect shims to take the rattle out of the CAR stock and buffer tube slop. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.

Yeah, a weapon you can't take apart and clean (ok: Other than bladed weapons, which you don't need to take apart for cleaning), is not a good thing! Hell, fouling isn't as bad with "smokeless" modern powders (they do still produce smoke, combustion always does, but of course less than black powder!) might not make your weapon nearly unusable after firing a few shots if you don't use the ramrod to at least surface clean the bore etc. but you are still producing "dirt" (powder residue)...seriously, do we want Cyberpunk 3D-Printed "single use" (as in the magazine is an integral part of the weapon and can't be reloaded at all) guns and suppressors you can at best dump into a cleaning solution to soak and hopefully remove at least enough dirt to still use it for a while, till it is gunked up so badly that you have to throw it away? I really doubt it! Even with mordern additive manufacturing (basically 3D-Printing stuff, which can be done seamless and without the option of taking that thing apart alter on) you can make things that you can clean! As for this weapon: This is one one sexy futuristic looking weapon! Seriously, it wouldn't look out of place in say 'Blade Runner' or even in military Scifi like Stargate
I picked up an XDS 9 kit bundle used on a deal that I couldn't pass up (under 250). I really like it, XDS was the only one out of the XD series that I hadn't fired up to that point for some reason, and it doesn't disappoint (just like the others) so far. The only complaint I have is the grips are a little odd, I do like the more modern sandpaper style textured grips, but this does work. It's accurate so far on plate targets at 10-15 yards, but I haven't grouped it yet. I feel like grouping is not going to matter much for what I'm doing if I'm hitting 4, 5, & 6 inch round plate targets at 10-15 yards though. It certainly has my seal of approval. My hands are also slightly on the larger side, and it's been fine with the extended magazines.
Too much bullshit before you get to the point. I made breakfast before I got to the heart of your video. Next, too many commercials. And you talk too much. Pure waste of my time.
Because of astigmatism, I too, have had to abandon the closed emitter reflex sights and have discovered prisim sights and magnifiers. In this quest, I have discovered the forward magnifiers that go on the muzzle side of the optic, does not affect the eye relief of even the already magnified prisim sights. I have only began to figure out the various combos of these things. The magnifiers that go between the shooter and optic, definitely affect eye relief negatively, and when you get above 3X, I wouldn't really want it on anything more than a rimfire or I would fear some racoon-ish bruising around one eye. 🫣 I have not played around with any of the variable powered magnifiers as an LPVO would do that.🤷♂️ I have discovered a line of the cheapos that have 1X to 5X fixed magnification prisim sights with a forward 2X magnifier that I keep on hand to figure out what setup works for each gun, then I will decide on the permenant optic of higher quality. And you are absolutely correct, ACOG's are not worth the price they are asking and they have horrid eye relief.🤷♂️ I have not ran across the Feyachi brand, I will have to checck them out and see what they have available.👍
@@thetexasgunvault i was screensharing with friends that was mostly to make them laugh cos i literally forced them all to watch this video just because i was interested in it and they always call me a nerd for knowing so much random obscure bullshit about guns, very useful video my fellow autist
I have that very same one. (Bought it ***BRAND NEW***) So I called Thompson Center to have it Serviced, quick note, if you do NOT have the Original Receipt, Thompson Center will DEFINITELY NOT help you. NOPE. ABSOLUTELY NOT. NO WAY JOSE. (Just hang up the phone) They do NOT care?... THEN NEITHER WILL I CARE about buying their product(s) I will definitely NOT deal with them. (That's just me talking)
Compared to g43, p365, kahr, ect….. the shield plus is the softest shooting of all the micro compacts I have shot. Freakin love it. No micro compact is a range toy. I love it personally
Also shooting right handed, it shouldn't flip to the left, it should flip to the right so that it does not obscure your field of view to the left of the red dot. I know you don't have it mounted backwards based on where the focus ring is on that but I think the orientation of the magnifier is actually wrong. It's as if it was assembled backwards. The mount should be towards the front of the magnifier so that you can have the part that hangs out can sit farther back and over the buffer tube/butt stock. if you look at other magnifiers like Primary Arms/Sig Romeo Juliet, you will notice that's how they are assembled/setup.
What a joke the trigger is i dropped a rise ra 140 into my anderson arms cost under 100 bucks. 3.5 pounds . The tread 400 has a beutiful trigger its right at 3.5 ,3.8 . Just great. Colt onxe again is not in the real world. Javent been for years.
