In regards to the American soldier who brought Nazi items home from the war. I believe warriors through out history have done this, one example would be the Native Americans who always kept items they found on there conquered enemies.

My Dad had aquired a Japanese soldier's suitcase containing a few letters and photos among some personal items that were left behind in their cave in what must have been a hastey retreat. In 2005 I located an organization in Japan that facilitated the return of these war souvenirs to the original owners.or their families. My father returned the letters and what turned out to be photos of the soldier's mother, father, and brother. Sadly, he did not survive the war, but his brother and niece were still alive and very moved to be reunited with these memories of their long passed brother and uncle.

I attend a lot of these shows and I have a few very rare and troubling pieces but these Railway Eagles, you see them all the time. Every show someone is selling there's. I have a collection that has an SS honor dagger, SS honor ring, all the paper work, and various daggers, helmets. Also have a larger 150+ bronze bust of you know who, a few flags, several arm bands, ash trays, dedicated cigarette cases, silverware, etc etc, looking to get out of the hobby. My favorite pieces is the flight log book for a German WW2 ace, his paperwork, some of his medals and a leather helmet ( not his ) but one that he might have worn. Also have a few ( 3 ) instrument panel gauges from a FW-190. One is brand new in the box that I bought off eBay 12 - 13 years ago for $200+. I think it should be worth much much more but maybe not.

Must be a relief parting with this stuff and getting it out of the house. Bad mojo. RIP to the Allied soldiers who fought and died to save the world from these monsters.

My granddad’s brother fought in WWll, he had brought back several things he had taken off of Nazi’s which included a couple of pistols, rifle with bayonet, a swastika flag among other things. The only remaining items that are left are 5 photographs that I have only because he gave them to me in 1982 for a 5th grade book report I was doing. Once he passed, his wife’s brother come in and cleaned out everything before the items went to my granddad per his will. It’s truly sad what greed does to people because all our family wanted was to persevere everything so it could be handed down through generations as to not be forgotten the atrocities that happened and all of the sacrifices.
