Hello, Tinman! I built my first farmertec saw (ms 660) a few weeks back and it started right up. Felled a pine with it last week that was a tad bigger than the 28 inch bar. Thank you for spreading your knowledge!
Very nice pipe but also very pricey. Half the price of a new saw...ouchey. At those prices they aren't going to be on my saws anytime soon but nice to see and hear...lol. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙
I’ve ordered several times from Ryan. Was able to rebuild a MS660 clone completely with his help. Now have all the parts to rebuild a 372 X-Torque. Always good to do business with.
Wolfcreek is great for ordering parts from!!! The 390 cylinder on the 371/372 chassis isn't so easy, the bolt holes do not line up, iron horse is a hack and slotted them, the 390 piston having a larger wrist pin is the largest issue
would like to give you some numbers for a 371 build I did that runs damn strong. Use a 272 piston which is substantially lighter. You will have to cut the squish band to make it work. Just keep cutting squish out until you get 20-22 thou. Next you have a 101 exhaust roof. Make the shape of the port square and widen it a bit more than stock. Your stock blowdown will be waaay too much. Will need to raise transfers. Make primary 121 and secondary 119. Stock intake should open around 81. By the time you clean it up and shape it, it will open around 82. Some people go more but, 82 worked good for me. Next I did some work to the carb. Use your dremel to thin down material on the bar that holds the butterfly. I run a 28" bar in mainly hardwoods with a hand filed C83 chain. This build really really runs good.
Hyway never used to make a 50mm 372oe pop up. Just ordered one from wolf creek! I have a Hyway pop up piston in a ported 034 super and that thing rips. I prefer the plating on oem cylinders but the Hyway pistons are really nice.
I have a 500 i, feel free to forward it to me. Seriously though, I was looking at the website and they had 3 pipes shown with different finishes. And looking at them I could tell that they were NOT built exactly the same. Probably all hand cut pieces I'm guessing is the reason for the differences.
Anyone got any ideas on why my ms311 doesn’t pull fuel ? I f’ed up my saw a few weeks ago, ended up putting a hyway piston/cylinder kit in new coil i do have spark but it’s faint white I get fuel to the carb but nothing in the cylinder could it be I need to rebuild the carb?
Tinman I do believe all that is is a 394 big bore piston , I have two 390 cylinders I had sent out and had one bored and replated , the other one I had a sleeve pressed in and ported so
The craftsmanship in that pipe is top notch! Been doing business with Wolf Creek a long time, always a pleasure. Been seeing a few worn out 500i's lately, my local dealer has completely rebuilt three in the past couple months. The price on them just went up here so folks are paying to fix them vs. buying new. Just a matter of time before you end of with one that needs that piston and some crank bearings.
WOW that is such an awesome fab job on that pipe i have been fabricating autos new and old for 30 plus years and would love to have jobs come out this clean kudows to the fab guy
