UNC needs a signature win that will solidify them as up and coming contenders. The Auburn game will be that signature win.

As an Auburn fan, i’ve never been more afraid to play a team that won 7 games last season lol. Should be a battle in week two

Pretty simple. They have Mack Brown back, who is a great recruiter, and Clemson can’t sign every single 4 and 5 star recruit in the region. Someone has to rise to second place and eventually challenge.

I just interviewed Keeshawn Silver and Kamarro Edmonds. Both a great young men and are going to do great things at UNC!

I think they’re going to win 10 games a year starting pretty soon. Mack Brown’s recruiting and development of players is next level

I keep hearing this every other year or once every 5 years. That Unc is different this year on the rise etc. Just too much hype but not production on the field or good quality wins. From John Bunting to Butch Davis, have high hopes but they never really deliver anything. Just a disappointing season at the end. Sure we may win a few meaningless bowl games but never on a national stage. Just tired of hear this same tune every year. Big hype at the beginning of the year, but finished ether in the middle or bottom of the conference. I want to see some consistency in wins.

All things considered, they did have a god awful basketball season last year for a school that’s known for basketball. Even with a poor performance in other areas, they have a football roster that make teams nervous.

Carolina can ALWAYS recruit..they have talent every year..Clemson and Bama come into N.C. and take a few. , but the Heels can usually get the rest of the N.C. talent..I've seen Kamarro play here in Havelock ; one hell of a back .

With Miami doing a quick fade under Manny Diaz it looks like a given that UNC will be in the ACC title game if the season goes forward.

So if the team didn't necessarily need Sam Howell to be great, but his (admittedly impressive) performance led them to a barely over .500 record, then were they expecting a rebuild year?

The reason we are good now is Sam Howell, Mac Brown and our running backs. We were bad before because we had a dumb coach.

North Carolina is going to win the Coastal finishing 10-2 and face Clemson in the ACC title game. And they make a New Years 6 bowl game and win it. I feel like the Tar Heels have a chance to be as good as the 2015 team and Sam Howell is a candidate for the Heisman race as well.

This guy's mistaken. "Bunting had a good tenure". "Fedora carried the program to new heights". Fedora won with Butch's recruits, when they all left shit hit the fan. He had every high school coach in the state despising him. And Bunting, he put the worst drilled football team I've ever seen on the football field.

NC and neighboring states have soooo much talent. If UNC can get a constant flow of talent through recruiting they will be a great program

Ok the only fun season under Bunting was 2001 and to an extent 2004 but every other season was absolutely miserable to watch. Butch was brought in to finish what Brown started and he was well on his way until dumbass Thorpe fired him over something out of his control. Fedora had so much potential but he just kept losing games that they really should have been winning and his recruiting was questionable. Mack is the only coach in the modern era of the program that has been able to win consistently.

I would have loved to see what Butch Davis could have done after he got settled in. He got fired for nothing, because the NCAA said he didn't have anything to do with the bogus course they were giving athletes. UNC had basketball player in that class too, but Ol Roy Williams got a pass.
