This is basically what Tomb Raider should have become, it's uncanny how well the Lara model fits here without changing anything else. And the game of Lost Legacy itself also fits perfectly, no unnecessary bloat (collectibles, skill trees and crafting that add nothing to the gameplay), just exploration, story and environmental puzzles. This is beautiful.
So well-said! About how this is basically what Tomb Raider should've become. Indeed - I've always loved the original sassy, badass Lara from Angel of Darkness, Tomb Raider Legend, etc - and this seems to resonate with that vibe as well. And yeah, this version of Lara fits really well in this game 😄
I completely understand your point of view and I too like Uncharted IPs, but for me the recent Tomb Raider games with their skill trees, crafting to upgrade weapons and ammo, as well as collectibles, do not never bothered me for Rise of the Tomb Raider or Shadow of the TR. I even liked this aspect, for my part^^ Collectibles and documents bother me more in licenses like Far Cry or Assassin's Creed where there are far too many.

The problem is that the developers modify the aesthetics of the original character. They try to make Tomb Raider not look like Tom Raider by criteria that are valid in reality and not in video games.
That's because Uncharted is a Tomb Raider ripoff with a male protagonist. Atmosphere, style, pacing etc is ripped off straight from Tomb Raider, just dumbed down with fewer puzzles compared to the OG games that were actual action-adventures, but this game actually looks alright gameplay wise, much closer to OG Tomb Raider than say Uncharted 4 which is just a cover-shooter. Honestly, this mod makes the game kinda interesting to me. Nathan Drake is such an uncharismatic POS character, looks exactly like Joel from TLOU and is as generic as it gets, typical Naughty Dog trash design (honestly can't tell a single nice looking character Naughty Dog made since Crash Bandicoot lol). OG Lara Croft has a distinct look and is way more interesting. The irony is that while Uncharted is a rip off of the OG Tomb Raider, the modern Tomb Raider is a ripoff of Uncharted. It's as if the devs took all the bad things from Uncharted and created RotTR and SotTR with it, just boring, soulless games.
I didn’t think this would make me emotional. I grew up playing the original games and have played them all multiple times. Reboot has never felt like Lara Croft to me and I’ve never been able to connect to her. Seeing this, even if it’s just a mod, gives me that feeling of experiencing an adventure with Lara Croft. It feels like seeing a loved one that I haven’t seen in decades. It feels good to see her again. Thank you for bringing her to the modern day.
The new Tomb Raiders lack luster. It's sad what they've done to Lara. The original character had grit. The new ones make her out to be kind of pathetic honestly.... This really has the feel of what a Tomb Raider game should be.

The way this feels like the style of the Tomb Raider reboots, but with Lara now more sure footed and confident like she was in the original games. This makes me feel like this is how the next actual Tomb Raider game should be like.
I couldn’t agree more. I go as far as to say they should reimagine the LAU trilogy in this style, as a soft sequel to the survivor trilogy. Set them several years later, Lara being more surefooted and confident, roughly following the original stories but adapted to fit the more open world style with returning characters worked in.
When she says "I don't need luck" straight away I thought of "I make my own luck" from Last Revelation. Scary how similar the protagonist's personality is to OG Lara.

Absolutely! I was so glad having stumbled on this video. I immediately bought the game and used the mods. In order to avoid spoilers, I only watched this video for real -after- I was finished playing the game. I was extremely surprized how awesome the core character (Chloe Fraser) suited for Lara. Her strong voice and "acting" perfectly fitted to the original, self confident, awesome Lara Croft. The revival Lara is a nice person, but she is more a survivor that has to endure situations she doesn't wish to be in. She is not the original Lara, that loved the danger, loved the challenge and had a sharp intellect. Also, the adventure itself was so epic. The climbing, the dialogues, the interactions and the archeological talks. I loved when she was teaching Nora about the history and mythology ^^ This is the Tomb Raider game we were waiting for decades. And frankly, for me it became -the- Tomb Raider game at all. I am glad that we got this, but I feel sorrow that we probably will not get any further adventures with Chloe Fraser. Adventures we'd mod to further Lara's own story. Such a good game. The mod nails it!
Sitting on a shelf behind me as I type is a 25-year-old model of Lara in her original gear as seen in the first Tomb Raider release (1996). Nice to see that she lives on in this game. 🙂👍

It is mindblowing how much this feels like Lara Croft from TR1-5, Core Lara, and I´m just 5 minutes into the gameplay. This is all I just ever wanted to see for Lara as a fan of Core´s version of her. Not only she looks stunning in that Classic outfit (I´m dying for the high waist!) but the personality of Chloe is just so Lara! The one that should have never left us! I hope the next TR is more like this...

they wont, because its "objectifying" their "standards", making "harm" to "certain people". Lara is dead mate. Wokists killed her and wont be brought back unless they no longer have the franchise in their hands. These kind of people have been ruining franchises for years now, movies, games, all of it. They wont stop now, and the basic rule they have is that they are narcissists: everything they make is good, but if you say otherwise you are the enemy, so they double down on it. Hopefully they eventually run out of money to keep it up, but they have a lot of backers with big pockets that want them to continue with this agenda.

This is awesome lol. My biggest takeaway from The Lost Legacy back in 2017 (and why it's my favorite Uncharted), was that it was the best Tomb Raider game I've played in years! and I can't believe someone actually took that to heart 😊
Never played Uncharted. Played plenty of Tomb Raider though. Once you get past the different rendering style and the voice actor's deeper and more mature voice, this is a very nice game indeed, and well worthy of Lara.
A Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie standalone version of this with all the outfits would be awesome, this game fits that Lara very well, this is so cool.
Be very careful what you call the Lords work. I love video games myself, but I do not confuse doing the Lords work with video games. I love you for this. It just feels so right. One thing about this game that amazed me was the level of detail, like how Chloe's hair will get messy/undone as she moves about and she'll fix it. And you replicated that perfectly with Lara's braided hairstyle. It's the little things that go a long way

Voice of Lara is Claudia Black, an Australian. There's just enough British lilt in there to make it work, and gives Lara a vocal grittiness that suits an older version of her.
Yep, and she was in Pitch Black. She does a lot of sci-fi. I met her when she was 18 and living with her folks in Sydney. She's had a great career. I wish I'd done heaps of sci-fi.

The only way this could be better is if you got an AI Lara voice. I've seen a few around that mimic the classic Lara voice and it would be so fitting here.
this proves that whatever open world adventure games that came out after lara croft tomb raider, is just an imitation. placing lara croft in this atmosphere just magnifies this to me. i want to play this only if i can get the croft mod as well. i have never played uncharted this looks like tomb raider.
Brilliant,Lara of old. Loved the Uncharted game and always thought it was a proper tomb raider experience, the India setting looks stunning. I also loved the banter between the characters, unlike the Tomb Raider reboots.

Chloe definitely has the personality that I would prefer a modern Lara croft to have. I understand that she was "finding" herself in these reboots which I absolutely loved but its time to move away from the "insecure" Lara and get to the badass Lara that we all love.
Such an amazing mod, they really have done such a good job she is so detailed to the skin facial animations hair so on, just shame we can't use her pistols as they are for show, mabey one day someone will make it happen, but just having Lara alone is all we need.

I honestly only have one criticism, and its the tiniest nitpick I kinda think allowing the grapple hook rope to always be on Lara might actually improve her look in game
I was going to do that as an option, but unfortunately couldn't change the position of the rope (to her back rather than the side) without it clipping and deforming unnaturally. Leaving it where it normally sits also clips through the left holster/pistol and that didn't look right.
Looking at this, just tells me how much more polished and premium the latest Uncharted games are VS even the latest tomb raiders. This is a Mod, and already looks like "next gen Lara". And not hating on them or anything, I played every single one of the reboot saga and almost all the old ones and they were pretty, pretty good; But the uncharted (4 and LL) games are just on a different level at this point man.
I would play this over a Tomb Raider 'Survivor' game any day of the week, this is way more in line with OG TR than anything that series has made recently
I LOVE "The Cradle Of Life" skin at the beginning. This is so damn cool. My inner child would've freaked out over this game. You couldn't get me out of the house.
