Uncle is Red Harlow proof 2020 

I think this has gone on long enough...This video was uploaded on the 10th anniversary of Red Dead Redemption, it was to celebrate an old "DEBUNKED THEORY" that means "fake" "proven false"...This video is for entertainment...its meant to be nostalgic for old players who have seen the Uncle Harlow theories from 2010-2011, i keep it in the style of the original, as real looking as possible...i really did go all out for this video...i also uploaded a face comparison of uncle & Red...these videos are not meant to be taken too seriously. Please stop bullying kids who believe this theory, if you tell them this theory is false and they don't believe you or argue back please ignore them.

It would sort of be ironic that the character that is usually thought of as a joke by the other characters was actually one of the best gunfighters in the Red Dead series.

Here’s the thing too uncle was really fucking smart too, early on rdr 2 he called Dutch on his bs and constantly saw through micah. Also he was able to last quite a while against the army when they stormed johns ranch. Not only was he smart, he was not gullible but also good at fighting

I still choose to believe Uncle is Red Harlow. I just like the idea that an old man who never wants to fight used to be the greatest gunslinger in the Wild West.

I love how they made Uncle more cheerful in the beginning of RDR2 than he was towards the end of RDR2 and the majority RDR1. You can tell he felt like he had another family taken from him when Dutch turned on everyone.

John could learn a thing or two from uncle about hiding his identity...

The bullet Uncle took at the ranch didn't kill him. It was his Lumbago that did it. When he was shot, his defenses were dropped, and his back finally gave out.

I always liked Uncle, he stood ground against an entire US Army detachment trying to protect Marston Ranch. As Arthur, I always respected him.

In 2010, was he meant to be Red Harlow? No. Is he officially Red Harlow? Never. Did Rockstar leave enough hints in RDR2 to make it possible he's Red Harlow? Yes. Is he Red Harlow in my mind? Absolutely.

This explains how Uncle was able to fight like he did at the end of Red Dead Redemption.

I love the idea of uncle being a secret badass who everyone underestimates.

He might not have been created to be Red, but over time rockstar has done A LOT to turn him into Red. In my opinion, he’s Red for sure. When you have multiple coincidences in a row, all about the same person, then you can’t deny it. He’s Red.

I like this theory. Makes Uncle seem more like an Uncle Iroh figure, but with rougher edges and more laziness. He's got his wisdom and he's seen his share, but decided to find his peace in each moment he can even if it doesn't come often or easy. Eventually, he found himself with a family that looked too familiar, and stuck around in the hopes it might go better for them this time.

I like how the child version of Red Harlow is just the normal model but smaller.

If RDR3 is a prequel to the 2nd, imagine playing young Dutch meeting Hosea, Arthur and presumably Red, maybe as a secondary antagonist, and then years later as the good old Uncle

As much evidence there is of uncle not being red Harlow, I choose to believe his is, because the idea of him being an old gunslinger legend, but choosing not to fight, is the coolest damn backstory

All your theories are on point. I kind of also believed for the longest time that there's more to Uncle that meets the eye. Sure he comes off as an annoying, good for nothing and lazy old man, but when it comes to sticking up for the people that matter, Uncle has never been one to back down. All his intentions were good and we can see that he knows a lot more than meets the eye. If we ever get RDR3 and Uncle gets written in as Red Harlow, it'll blow everyone's minds

Uncle was 62 in 1911, 12 years after 1899, Uncle was 50 in 99. Meaning he could possibly be Red Harlow.

Uncle has always been the smartest character to me. Dudes wanted dead or alive and he litteraly dissapears.. falls in with Dutch and he let's Dutch take all the heat off him. We all then think uncle is a worthless character when really he even had the player fooled.

amazing detective work and compilation of the facts, crazy theory especially if it ends up being revealed to be true at some point in our lives. one thing i will say is the pacing could’ve been a bit faster, people with adhd or those who find trouble focusing in general could find it a bit harder to follow but prime video all around, good work here dude!!!!!

After playing RD1 I never antagonized uncle because of what he did. Sure he was a little lazy but he was always respectful, funny, and never did anyone in the camp wrong

I got it. Red Dead Redemption 3, Uncle/Red Harlow, leading up to how he joined Dutch’s gang, and perspective changed to young Arthur.

Uncle also wears one glove on his right hand in rdr1. That’s the most blatant evidence I can see that you’re right. They expanded it in rdr2 by giving him slight burn scars and a red bandana, just in case it wasn’t obvious enough in the first one

I like to believe shortly after joining the van der land gang red actually did do good and was a hard worker and good thief but eventually the grief and trauma of his parents death and all the death that he had to endure over the years finally caught up to him eventually he gave into booze and the drink had a mean hold on him dutch and hosea at first wanted to let him go but even drunk red was hilarious and kept the gangs spirit up so they confronted him and said “listen red if you continue to drink like this then you have to switch roles in the gang we don’t want you leaving camp and we don’t want you to give out your identity go by “uncle” from now on just uncle and nothing else you do that and we won’t cut you loose” red agreed and became uncle things get mixed up in time and uncle gets remembered as a lazy drunk who never amounted to nothing the closest uncle was to becoming red Harlow again was when Micah threatened to kill him in chapter six and uncle threatened “just you try it” but the real uncle came out for one last time for 1911 to help save johns family”

I think the antiquated and ancient game engine as well as it not being officially cannon adds to the feel that you're playing the events of a legend. Its all still based on the truth, but its fuzzy, old, forgotten. And if we just connect all three together ourselves these games start at that raid on red's homestead, setting him on a path to revenge and end with jack 2 generations later killing Ross getting revenge for John. Then theres also the 2nd main narrative theme of the west being tamed. Wile RD: Revolver starts as a product of the unruly west RDR1 starts and end with the west being tamed and Jack killing the man who tamed it. So fucking beautiful.

Even if Uncle wasn’t first intended to be Red Harlow, I feel like Rockstar just really wants us to believe he is

Very compelling presentation. All circumstantial, but it fits very well. I always loved Red Dead Revolver, and the Red character.. Its nice to think that we could have seen what happened to him all along. I imagine Rockstar is currently making a new Red Dead game right now. How interesting would it be if it were titled _"Red Dead Revolver 2"_

No doubt about it. Red Harlow was the exaggerated stories told about Uncle's youth. Red Harlow had hypertrophic scars on his face. Those heal and disappear over time. It's keloid scars that never go away, since they grow over time and act similar to cancer. I've had some gnarly scars, and never got a keloid scar. A fencepost cut me to the ribs as a kid, and that scar is all but gone. A few years before that, a horse ran me under a tree (clotheslined me with a bough and knocked me out of the saddle). That tree left a massive scar wrapped around my forearm, but it's nearly invisible now. It took 12-15 years for those big-ass scars to fade away. At Uncle's age, any scars from his youth will look like extra wrinkles. Except for burn scars, which can cause contracture scars, but those usually fade. Especially on the palm and fingers, where new skin grows more rapidly than most areas.

I like to think that Uncle is trying to change his story up a bit so it doesn't match with Red Harlow's story. Basically he's trying to hide the fact he's Red and is trying to not get any suspicion that he is Red.

While I definetly dont believe that essentially Clint Eastwood decided to just become Uncle Iro out of the blue, it is super cool that you found and tracked all four stages of his house throughout the games

The fact that uncle even knows about people used to talk about him in his younger days makes this hella believable because rd revolver was told by a sheriff and not the main character

Honestly that’s a pretty good theory. Never played Red Dead Revolver, but I kept hearing people talk about Uncle and other things being connected. I think I read something from the Red Dead creators saying the games were connected but in different universes or something like that.

This is the best video in contribution to the theory. I do think rockstar started to feed into it with the writing of rdr2 but I do think if it’s ever confirmed it will have been a ret conned idea rather than a fully planned from the beginning kinda deal. Uncle is a sawed off stump of a man and Red’s design is lankier than any normal character, which I’d chalk up to scaling in ps2 era but considering he’s playable in online of rdr1, I’d say his model is objectively tall and lanky. Too much so to make him shrink that much with age.

Can we just talk about how jack IS LITERALLY RED HARLOWS STORY RETOLD his father John was killed by the military so was uncle later Abigail dies and if you don’t kill the fat guy as John during his final moments he has the skills of a true gunslinger and as age of outlaws was coming to an end he’d probably become a bounty hunter cleaned up the rest of dutchs kind the outlaws the bandits the new armies of mobsters and gangsters to come in the roaring twenties

Maybe the reason Uncle is a massive liar is because he doesn’t like to talk about what he did before the gang, AKA, Red Harlow’s story.

they should make a red dead game where your playing a legendary badass of the wild west following him throughout the years as he ages from young to old only for the ending to reveal youve actually been playing uncle

The ranch in New Austin is simply too well done and it sells this theory to me. Also, the red piece of cloth might look like just a random color that Rockstar picked, but I don't think so, since their attention to detail and ability to slip little references to other games is simply amazing. What a character... From a little boy that saw his parents get murdered in front of him to a old man with lumbago... EDIT: Here I am 1 year later to say I'M OBVIOUSLY NOT SERIOUS. Damn...

It does make sense tho. I mean, yes. Uncle has no back stories and he seem to talk all kinds of crap that doesn't tally but then again if you think about it, it does. He can ranch, he can build and he damn well can shoot for the life out of it much like any of Dutch's own shooting men. Look at RDR2. The tip he gave about the robbery of the bank coach. The tip was wack but when it went wild, Uncle did his fair share of shooting and in fact, everyone got out unscathed. In RDR1, the same thing happened. The ranch was overran by US Cavalry forces and Uncle held his own, repelling wave after wave till he himself was shot. Even in both RDR1 and 2, he helped in ranching horses, cows and in 2, even helped Marston in building Beecher's Hope when he ain't lifting a finger. That speaks volume in what kind of man Uncle used to be. He might have left the life but still, it lingers with him or at least the skills he honed before he got into Dutch's posse. Uncle's incessant drinking might be a way for him to cover up his past misdeeds and to drown himself away from the misery and PTSD he suffered all those years back. I mean, watching your parents die infront of your eyes and going on a crazy killing spree along the way just harms your mentality in the long run and during those times, psychology isn't treatable and drinking became a huge part of the "cure" for such problems and Uncle might be using that as a mechanism. However, the more he drank, the more laidback he became and because Red became a criminal in the end of Revolver, it makes absolute sense on why Uncle would come into contact with Dutch as Dutch's visionary at that point of time wasn't that bad and at least he did what he said he was going to do which was a good cause and Uncle believed him. Plus, to boot, Uncle does speak in the same form like Red. You can change everything with a beard or outlook but how a person speak sticks with him, forever.

Only problem is Uncle is 61 during RDR2. The timelines and age differences between Uncle and Red Harlow don’t match

3:55 Unlec said "Fall of Rome" and there is an extra stage called Coliseum on PS3 remastered version of Revolver which looks like Rome. More nod that Uncle is Harlow.

Not much is revealed about Uncle in either Red Dead redemption 1 or 2 but however this video does make a pretty compelling argument I think this would be a direction Rockstar could take if they decide to do another Red Dead redemption game to tell the story of Uncle when he was younger possibly right when he fell in with Duch's gang I believe Uncle would make an excellent protagonist

The fact othag he carries a red cloth and that his one hand has “burns” (the other hand is clean) seals the deal for me. His scars probably healed overtime. When you look at his history, it makes total sense.

People forget how the story of RDR is told by someone who wasn't even there. Red probably was NOT the badass bounty hunter we play in the game. He was just a bounty hunter who made some mistakes on the basis of his infancy trauma - seeing both your parents being killed when you're 9 years old is something you'll NEVER forget - and then went on the run - probably after killing the governor (?) -. But one thing is for sure, the theory that Uncle is Red is one of the most plausable right now.

I don’t know too much about red dead revolver but what I do know is that red looks strikingly similar to uncle
