As a Chinese myself, from Mainland, I feel embarrassed by our government for not being able to handle a joke. Chinese are getting over sensitive for everything about ourselves, and I can foresee a consequential outbreak.

This is something Westerners might not deeply feel, but those closer to China, such as Japan, South Korea, and especially in regions like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Tibet, experience it more intensely. In these areas, anyone claiming he is not Chinese hardly finds any room for discussion. It might be somewhat better here, but on social media in mainland China, there would be a tremendous amount of hatred directed at them. In fact, the vast majority of Chinese people cannot separate themselves from the CCP.

They have him cancelled, like hundreds of people, but they are not gonna do more. There would be much more ground to look for people like those of ADV China and China Unscripted, who never got any problem (except alledgedly some sus people talking to Winston, but that's it, and it's probably just a scam thing).

I’m from China. The fact that my government can’t take a joke says it’s a total joke. Now that you got cancelled, you should keep joking about it even harder.
Post the same question all over actual chinese social media and you'll see why criticism is what they can't take . Jokes are often funny because they contain some type of criticism in them. Its not really the joke that they can't take but the implication that they deserve any criticism. Hopefully the future will be brighter.
Other comedians rant about 'wokeness' and 'how no one can take a joke anymore' causing their cancellation, Uncle Roger simply uses it as an opportunity to promote his show. 10/10 would promote again!
It's a lot easier to take a "cancelled" hit when it's likely not from your primary viewership. China has very little influence that it can actually use against him at present.
