First time picking up my paycheck at the kit room window, my Training Officer told me to go to the report writing room, get a PIR and make a theft report. List the City of Los Angeles as the victim……..😂
By the way , your hand gun training classes are excellent , I can tell by the videos that you don't have any one running blindly backwards like most of the others , they get angry at me when I show them why running backwards blindly while firing a weapon is a tactical error .
When I was a rookie working a Sunday day shift I was called to the station to see the sergeant. We walked out to where all the unassigned cruisers were parked and he pointed and said; “Get ‘em washed.” Spent the rest of the shift ferrying cars to the carwash & back to HQ until they were all done.
I remember getting hazed in my profession. I look back now and laugh.some of it was funny some of it embarrassing but overall it was a right of passage. Now that im at the peak of my profession i am forced to take sensitivity training. People can sue and win for getting their feelings hurt. 😂
Wow great and funny story now. But not when it happens to you. Poor dude. Well you were a trooper for sure. We would give the slow guys applications to Walmart and put them on the front seat of the patrol car. It ideally got them back on track.
The moral of the story is to question stupid orders. I learned this lesson in high school ROTC when my instructor ordered me to cross an open field during an infantry exercise. Naturally I was shot at by the opposing force and had to be rescued by my team. A friend of mine asked the NCO why he had sent me into such an obvious trap. He replied, "I just wanted to see if he was dumb enough to follow a stupid order". Turns out I was, but I never forgot the lesson.
That crap pisses me off. When I was in the military, that sort of thing was common. They caught me out once. It was so stupid that I couldn't think of how it could be a hazing so I fell for it. I never did anything like that when I became an NCO. I understand how some people think that they went through it so they should pass it on. But I think it is abusive and if you break the cycle of abuse it would stop.
