I tried it and did it just like you said. It is the best way to do it. I did not want to write off the glass fibre composite limb on my crossbow with a dry fire. I looked up how to decock on youtube and there you were. Thanks a million.

That's fine and dandy with the crossbow he has, a 330/ FPS model. Try pulling that string back one handed with a Matrix 405 and see how you do. Not happening.

My dad can't rope cock my Bulldog 400, but he can decock it no problem. Don't knock it til you try it.

With this method, you have to have good reflexes because the instant you pull that trigger, the bow limb is coming at you with its full draw weight.

How many people do you think buy those "uncocking bolts" ?

Just got my 355 and the string works great for cocking but for uncocking the string is too long. Shorten it up and it is too short for cocking. Not sure how to resolve that.

Not sure what a photo would show. I resolved this by tying a knot at the handle and shortening the thing up so I am pulling upward from by belly instead of having to pull upward from my chest, Just have to take the knot out when done so you can use it for cocking.
