On todays episode we head out to see Ben's to check out his Car Collection. We run into Ben at the Claremont Hot Rod Show last year and found out that he was following our channel, so of course we had go see his collection.
Ben has a few different cars for us to check out, theirs a Ford Falcon XY station wagon 4x4 that's running a 302 V8 with a C4 gearbox, pushing a Dana transfer case and Dana diffs. All sitting on modified suspension. He also has the same XY Ford Falcon Station Wagon 4x4 in a doner car at the moment, however, he may change his mind to rebuild this. Aussie Garage is hoping it does get rebuilt, as its too much of a car to be lost as used as parts. He may sell it if gets the right offers as well. This doner XY Ford Falcon Station Wagon 4x4 has a 250 pre-crossflow engine that is on about a 45% lean in the engine because of the diff set up at the front of the vehicle. The body has lots of rust and will need to be replaced in every panel, however, the chassis side is just dirty and will need repairs.
Ben would love to find out more information about this XY Ford Falcon 4x4's to find out if they were made be Ford through Molecraft business or through other means. We know the Ford made the XY Ford Falcon Ute 4x4 through the factory but unsure about these. If you have any information, please comment below or email us at info@aussiegaragetv.com.au. There's a commercial HX Holden 1 tonner with a 350 Chev turbo 400 combo, that had a bug catcher coming out of the bonnet, well until the Police stop him and put a yellow sticker on the Tonner for not having the correct permits for the vehicle. He is planning to get this vehicle back on the road shortly to enjoy it once again.
Plus, ben has a cruiser Ford Falcon XE Panel Van running a strong 250 crossflow that he has slowly been doing up over time, but its a great car to run around the streets for Car Events in Western Australia.
Ben loves to tinker and has had his hands busy doing all he can to keep his cars rolling. It is always great to interview people like Ben who loves his cars regardless of them not being perfect. In fact that's what encourages him to get them out and use them every day he can, do little projects to improve them but overall have fun with them.
