It's a gearing issue Fk8 has a 4.1 final drive FL5 has a 3.8 final drive Same power = fk8 walks away

Also to make the comparison even more fair both cars should be using the same tires, as that is really a key factor, I wonder what would the result be if the fk8 has the Michelin cup

One of the problems is you did testing on black top, the Fk8 really hates black top for dig launches

Its hard to say its making more power, as the ecu targets a torque amount, and will adjust boost accordingly

Switch Traction control off and then do a launch.. Those 60ft times are very high.. The car has alot more potential.

So many variables, really hard to say “the car hit faster because it had more miles” maybe, but there could be other variables, better fuel (California 91 is sus) and air intake temps, Wind at your back, etc.

FL5 has a smaller turbine housing . so yes Fk8 turbo is technically bigger...so it makes sense

Interesting theory. Just out of curiosity, what were the conditions like when you were trapping 104 vs 106? The density altitude (air quality) can make all the difference. Any idea what a tune, intake, downpipe, intercooler fk8 on 93 octane would trap? If you’re doing 106 stock, presumably full bolt on on 93 Oct could get you roughly 10 more mph. Thoughts? I am considering making the switch from an e90 m3 to an fk8 CTR. I know that I am going to be losing a ton of driving experience in terms of sound but am very excited about the sheer tossibility of the CTR combined with reliability/cost of ownership that you don’t get with a 16 year old M car.

Now imagine with some 10k in mods on the fk8, it'd be around the msrp for the new one but way faster lol
