@@darkseeker102 yeah there’s only been one other movie that made me feel this way, No Escape. If you haven’t seen it, I highly suggest it. It’s got the same edge of your seat feel from the first few moments, up until the last second.
@@AREA-jp8vb Oh yea as an Owen Wilson fan I've seen that one its great. I love and hate movies that can really mess with your emotions there many like that covering topics. one ill always remember a Russian movie ive seen will just make you extremely depressed but a great anti-war movie from the 80s non properganda.
Kevin Garnett gives one of the best acting performances ever given by a basketball player. The way he comes off so intimidating and even scary is so good.
Id say its his 2nd best but its up there and im glad that people took him seriously as an actor after this. For me, id have to go with Reign Over Me for his best role
While yes, the competition was fairly strong that year. Regardless, the Oscars shouldn't have to tell you who and who isn't a good actor. He won our hearts and that's enough for me. Edit: I'm not implying anyone here gets their opinions from the Oscars. We all know the Oscar lost a lost of credibility in the past few years.
The stress of this film is what makes it so good. I was super surprised when Adam’s character got shot. But honestly, he had it coming. Bro chose to be a part of that life. That’s what you get when you try to be like these people. They ain’t playing.
My best friend and I saw this in theaters and I'll remember the gasp and silence from the first gunshot till a few minutes in the credits. It's a movie that makes you sit on the edge of your seat in a stressful, unique way. If you haven't seen it, look up Adam Sandlers Spirit award speech from this movie, and also the directors, as they both won awards that night.
In the beginning y'all misunderstood. He hit the bet because he was betting on KGs personal stats not the final score. So he did hit the bet while he was in that cab. For context of the following scenes in the apt.
When he got the bullet, the movie just stops being frantic, there is peace and I felt it, just like in The Machinist, when Bale's character went to sleep, I felt that peace too
one of my favorite movie theater experiences. Saw it on Christmas in a packed theater. when the thing happened at the end, half the theater got up and left and didn't even bother to finish it.
I really wish more channels would do movie reactions to the same scale as Reel Rejects, the amount of content you guys put out is staggering! Keep up the good work! Also any chance of a Big Trouble in Little China reaction? 😂 I will keep asking lol
Seeing this in theaters when it first came out was definitely one of my favorite movie going experiences. The whole ending sequence watching the game was so intense thst everyone's anxiety was palpable in that theater and the sigh of relief to shock was truly an experience to feel with an audience. Adam Sandler seriously doesn't get enough recognition when it comes to his more serious roles and this movie with his performance was nothing short of entertaining as well as tragic. Loved this movie and it really did give me a newfound appreciation for Adam Sandler as an actor especially when he does these more serious roles with his comedic charm still apparent in this specific character. Truly a gem of a film (pun intended lol).
I saw this in theaters with a couple of basketball buffs and the way I was SCREAMING at them to remember how the games ended was ridiculous 😭 and then for it all to be for nothing?! I don't think my heart has ever recovered from the stress haha
In order!!!! 1.Uncut Gems 2.Waterboy 3.Spanglish 4.Punch Drunk Love 5.50 First Dates Honorable Mentions!!! Reign on Me. Happy Gilmore. 8 Crazy Nights. Longest Yard. Wedding Singer. Hotel Transylvania. Big Daddy.
Even the jewler that worked for Adams character and then left is an actual jewler. This movie seems so raw and it's cause so many characters aren't even entirely characters.
The guy who played Arno did an amazing job as well. His voice isn't anything like Arno's voice. He said in an interview that the guy who played his henchmen Phil, had some how gotten a cut on his face and was bleeding when they filmed the scene where Arno smacks the gun out of Phil's hand. He said he thought "is this guy gonna REALLY kill me?" And when Phil pushes Arno against the wall, that's real fear on his face. The guy playing Phil had never been in a movie before. He knocked it outta the park though for a first time actor. Super believable. You guys should seriously seriously react to Good Time. Unless you've seen it already. Both Uncut Gems, and Good Time, are equally my favorite movies. Robert Pattinson's performance seriously blew me away. The guy who plays his mentally handicapped brother, is Benny Safdie. One of the two brothers who wrote and directed Good Time, and Uncut Gems. He also apparently held the boom mic during the filming of Good Time. He hadn't acted before Good Time, yet he was amazing in it.
I love this movie. It tells such a thought-provoking story that really captures my interest each time I watch it. This is a masterpiece and I think it is my favorite Adam Sandler film. Sandler really showed his true talents with this movie and Puch-Drunk Love. If you haven't seen Punch-Drunk Love yet, please, please, please do a reaction video to it.
Adam Sandler never surprises me I always knew he could do all types of acting after watching the movie reign over me I knew this dude could do almost anything
It’s my favorite Adam Sandler movie and was my favorite movie the year it released saw it at least 4 times in theaters bc I had to keep bringing people to watch it
Happy Gilmore. Big Daddy. Uncut Gems. Punch Drunk Meyerwitz I still need to see the one with Sandler coaching the Spanish kid; but I swear Uncut Gems is like the most NY a film can get! I love it, I remember watching it twice in a row. The sound mixing is insane!
The last scene was Adam Sandlers best joke. I hated this movie and when we got that satisfying end I was smiling ear to ear. It was almost worth sitting through it to see that.
If it wasn't for Adam Sandler, I don't think I would've seen this movie. I love seeing actors do movies that are outside of their norm, especially comedic actors like Sandler.
This movie doesn't let you breathe at all throughout the entire duration. If I suffered from crippling anxiety, I feel like this movie would be a personification of it because I was uneasy the entire time. Another serious role for Adam Sandler that people don't seem to watch for some reason is Reign Over Me along side Don Cheadle.
Also big shout-out to TraxNYC, very famous jeweler, and RU-vidr now, he did a real good job helping out Adam. You can say that again very cutthroat business in the jewelry game/gold&silver, especially in New York shit is wild. Also go Celtics #18 BABY!!!! (And I hate to break it to you even with bynum and Ariza still would of lost 😂)
You mentioned one actor in the opening cradits that he didn't, and he wouldn't stop spitting out lil factoids like word vomit for the entire viewing. That shit had him riled! 😂😂😂
By far the best movie of Sandler's. Almost got a heart attack when watching it first time, so stressful. And my god, Julia Fox... Too bad she kinda crazy, could've been a huge star after this.
Wish i could enjoy this film as much as everyone else. Everyone says how stressful this movie is but i didn't really feel it so i just felt myself saying "you deserve this" the whole movie.
One thing that sucked for me when I watched this movie is that the trailer showed one or two of the guys breaking the glass cases in the store which happens at the end of the movie and you can clearly see blood on the wall or counter (can't remember). So by seeing the trailer, I knew a death or bloodshed was coming at some point.
