poppet sticher is MVP in this deck... or rather, the back side.. Poppet factory :) poppet factory + Wilhelt = you get normal zombies without decay so normal zombies die, you get a new one thats the same. it is insanely good. if you have the money for leyline of anticipation (here in Europe it's dirt cheap) I would put that in, because it triggers on your upkeep so if you play poppet stitcher and pass the turn, you give your opponents a chance to kill it before you can make use for it. so layline of anticipation for Flash is really good. technically high market costs you 1 mana to sac because you have to tap it to sac something. I like these upgrades, personally, I think I'll add "The Scarab God" as well as these, just so I can have an alternative commander should I wish it. it's currently around 8-9 € here in Europe, so an extra 10 bucks gets you an alternative commander too. leyline of anticipation is 1-1.3 € so gonna add that too. flash is always nice. Ebondeath, Dracolich is also a very good alternative Zombie dragon that you can cast from your graveyard over and over

Still a little baffled that out of all the things to cut the diamonds. I understand go for the throat its personal preference to remove single target instant speed removal (especially when its 2 mana and not really flexible) but idk the deck doesn't seem to really have much to do on turn two, so removing ramp and not replacing it with ramp is not what id personally do (like i understand replacing it with cheap vanilla mana rocks for instance just to have a way to ramp into wilhelt that dont etb tapped) but to each their own.

Same on a budget are actually great mana rocks. Use both, a prismatic lens, thought vessel, dimir signet even (I know is not as cheap as the others) but gives you acceleration to keep playing spells specially on a deck that can get a lot of draw and synergies to find a combo and win the game and with relatively cheap cards.

I really didn't get it either, I think the diamonds are a great option for 2 colors decks, most of the time wen you ramp on turn1, 2 or 3 you don't do anything with the mana that the rock could produce

If you're willing to pay the money, the sapphire and jet medallions may be a better investment. But yeah, not terrible as far as rocks go

Tovolar may not be included in any precon, but he was created for EDH, and lots of people will be playing it. You gotta do a Tovolar deck tech, boys!

I disagree with the forgotten creation one, too many times i just dont have the right cards in hand and with that thing i can actually cycle through my deck to get new stuff that i can use. Its great at preventing drowning in lands

I don't understand why Go for the Throat got dunked on. It's a 2 mana value kill spell for anything but artifact creatures which never feels like a dead card in my hand. Doom Blade on the other hand...

As much as I like Go Fot the Throat, I'd tout Victim of Night much higher. BB destroy target non zombie, non vampire, no werewolf creature. While there are zombie and vampire tribal decks running around, this in general reads "destroy target creature" and kills most of the staple creatures

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this. Maybe it's just the meta that I play in, but this is my go-to black removal spell as artifact creatures are rarely a problem. 2 mana AND it's instant speed - how is that terrible?? It has never let me down.

Hoo boy, I sure am excited to see the anti nitpicking nerds deck play out. I love you guys and all you do, so I apologize if maybe I'm missing something you've said, or assuming too much, but I imagine yall are going to give the anti deck and honest power rating and chance to win. I don't think you'll just intentionally leave out lands or anything, but it would be really cool to see you guys put together combos and such with the cards that you've warned us so many times NOT to try and combo off with. But maybe that's just because I wanna see the anti nitpicking nerds deck win 😈

Phyrexian Alter + Gravecrawler for infinite death and etb triggers, add an aristocrat for the win, Wilhelt for infinite tokens. DnD Zombie Acererak + Rooftop Storm is a 2 card GG, those are the ones I'll be using just because I had them but I'm sure there are loads.

Acererak the Archlich also combos with Rooftop Storm, and you don't even need him in the graveyard first!

I. Love. Zombies. But throughout the years of playing MtG, I've noticed zombies were a good tribe to run, but it didn't necessarily have enough good cards to work...well, let's say I didn't have the right cards. But I recently got the precon and the cards from this list and rebuilt the deck. As of right now, this is my strongest deck and is also my favorite deck to play. Everything you do, is making the zombies that you have better, make more zombies or make your opponent(s) sacrifice their own creatures that will then have you create more zombies and so on. Through all of my deck testing, the deck was popping off 9 times out of 10. There was one time where emy Sir Konnrad deck had a turn one Sol Ring and was able to setup faster. That's probably the only weakness it has. That probably goes for all decks, I guess lol. But I'm rambling. Thank you, Nerds for making my dream zombie deck come true! Braaaaaains!!!

For undead alchemist, I don't know how many time that card has saved me from graveyard decks. My deck is more combo based with Grimgrin, but he exiles all opponent creatures put into graveyard from either your mill or their self mill.

Noxious Ghoul my favourte zombie. Its a monster. Was one of the few answers to army of slivers comnig back over and over. Funny how my opponent couldn't do anything to stop it

The only reasonable target I can see for the key is Doubling Cube. Its virtually the only way you'll end up mana positive, and its still ab expensive endeavor.

Man, I already had a Gisa/Geralf deck (partnering the OG cards) but I’m seriously considering buying the new deck so I can focus each more. Wilhelt can go more aristocrat like with his stuff, while the twins can play more wide army.

Love your videos! I haven't seen anyone do a video to help people update their Golos Tireless Pilgrim deck now that it's been banned. The best option I have found to change my big mana Golos deck would be to use The Prismatic Bridge as the new commander. Would love to see what you recommend!

I have a question about the second abilities of Wilhelt and Eloise. So WIlhelt's second ability says "At your end step you may sacrifice a zombie. I you do, draw a card" And Eloise says "Whenever you sacrifice a token, surveil 1" My question is: What is the order of these two abilities? Can I surveil first and then draw or I have to draw first?

So the effects we have are: -Wilhelt sacrifices a zombie token and draws the player a card. -Upon seeing the zombie token get sacrificed, Eloise will Surveil 1. ------------ Since Wilhelt's draw ability is in the same paragraph as the sacrifice effect, the player draws a card before Eloise's Surveil ability triggers.

Grim Haruspex is overrated in this deck, at the very best case only half the creatures you control that die will trigger it. For its cost it is fine but it does nothing with the decayed tokens, you need it in a more recursion geared deck than an aristocrats deck that happens to have recursion

Will send it Monday from the land down under and just want to say thanks for the content, been a great help for me just getting back into MTG especially since the early 2000s

As somebody whose pet card has always been Grimgrin Corpse Born and has had a zombie tribal deck centered around him for years, seeing this deck made me super excited. I haven’t purchased a precon in a while but I’ll be picking this one up for sure! (Even if I already have a good but if the cards in my deck already lol)

Undead Alchemist is useful while having Scarab God as commander of the zombie horde. Is Unclaimed Territory really unplayable in commander? Tribal heavy decks find it useful.

I am definitely putting Moonsilver Key into Sen Triplets. It can fetch the all important Chromatic Lantern! Is Moonsilver Key the best tutor? Nah, but it is one you can pop off on turn two to make sure you can generate all the colors to play your opponents decks!

Give both a try at the helm, especially if you already have the cards. I know that I will. I might have some different cards to swap out to focus on each commander at the helm and keep the deck from being too stale after a bunch of games.

Great upgrades! But I feel that maybe they lack a little bit of removal, don't they? Go for the throat is not that bad I think. Artifact creatures are not that common, at least in my meta (which are really commander staples? Wurmcoil, Blightsteel and maybe some artifact deck staples like Ethersworn Cannonist?) and innistrad just gave us infernal grasp which I think is just sweet. And I also think that this deck could use some lifegain because I've been playing it a lot with this upgrades and having GREAT results but man those draw one lose one do add up. But surprising how good the deck turns with so little money, great card picks!

I feel like you guys like taking "hipster" style opinions, which is fine. But just feels fake. You guys keep going on and on about how certain cards are bad, yet your just talking in circles about the same situations where the card is bad. Like, duh, it's not gonna sound good when you run over the same point 3 or 4 times and never bring up when it can be good, or realisticly point out when it can be good.

How is this upgrade $50, I add to cart straight from the list you provide in TCG player and it comes to $98 before shipping. Am I missing something or have prices doubled in a month?

@@windwrightmage Even on Card Kingdom with the cheapest option selected for each card the total comes to $81. I can optimize on TCG and customize card condition but cheapest I can get the price to is $69-71 dollars. I cannot get it into 1 package tho 8 is the least it will let me do which makes the cart total around $77-78$
