A&Z #1005 - Randy Santel vs Hog Father Pizza Shop's "Don" Undefeated 7lb Deep Dish Pizza Challenge hosted by Hog Father Pizza Shop in Louisville, Kentucky. After leaving Memphis, Tennessee as part of my Midwest USA Food Challenge Tour, I traveled all the way up to Louisville, Kentucky where I took on the undefeated 7lb "Don" Deep Dish Pizza Challenge at Hog Father Pizza Shop which was so delicious!! A few people had previously tried since the restaurant and pizza challenge started in February 2021, but nobody had come close to finishing. I had just 1 hour to finish this "Don" HogDaddy Pizza Challenge. There was 1.5lbs of crust formed into a 12" cast iron skillet filled with mozzarella & parmesan cheeses, plus pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, caramelized onions, chopped meatballs, pork belly, and then more slices of pepperoni and pieces of sausage. After being cooked, it was all topped with lots of homemade pizza sauce, breadcrumbs, more parmesan cheese, and dehydrated bits of country ham. The beer I drank in the video was optional and not required. I was trying to become the first champion to win my $40 deep dish pizza meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on the Wall of Fame. BIG thanks to everyone with Hog Father Pizza Shop for the great pizza, food, drinks, and hospitality!! Thanks also to the amazing people who came up that Friday evening in June to watch and meet me!! I appreciate everyone in Butchertown & Louisville, KY and all around Kentucky who watches videos and supports our efforts!! Hog Father Pizza Shop's Undefeated "Don" 7lb Deep Dish Pizza Challenge in Louisville, KY ($40):
- Hog Father Pizza Shop has served the Butchertown area of Louisville, KY since February 2021.
- Since they opened, they've offered this "Don" Challenge, also called the HogDaddy Challenge.
- There is 1.5lbs of crust formed into a 12" cast iron skillet, with a cheesy base later on bottom.
- The base consists of mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, topped with pepperoni and sausage.
- There is also chopped meatballs, healthy mushrooms, caramelized onions, and pork belly.
- That is all topped with more pepperoni and sausage, plus lots of their homemade sauce.
- It is all then covered with breadcrumbs, more parmesan cheese, and bits of country ham.
- There is a 1 hour time limit to finish everything. The whole pizza weighs around 7 pounds.
- Winners receive the $40 deep dish pizza free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on Wall of Fame!!
- Unfortunately Hog Father Pizza Shop is now closed and the pizza challenge is not available.
