@@user-es4rx8qr5d if the parcel companies paid better and had higher requirements or provided proper training and instilled a sense of accountability there wouldn't be a problem. I'd happily pay higher shipping rates for that. The other problem is that many of the delivery companies are using a pool of agency drivers rather than actually having permanent staff. Not sure about elephants, though they are rather partial - pay peanuts, get monkeys. If you don't treat your staff with respect, they don't treat your clients with respect.
@MattNolanCustom Do you think if they were well paid they'd be less likely. No. Then it is a nice little earner/ bit on the side to improve their circumstances.
@@finolaomurchu8217 it's not just the pay. It's the lack of job security. Agency work, zero-hours contracts, all that stuff. If you don't feel secure and you don't feel valued then you have no motivation to do a good job. Bottom-feeding economics biting itself in the ass. We all lose.
Really makes you see red when you stay downstairs and limit yourself to very quietly getting on with your day lest you should miss the doorbell and then you either get a message to say ‘sorry we missed you’ or worse ‘it’s been delivered!’ and it’s nowhere to be found. And your heart fills with dread because now you’ll have an uphill struggle trying to right that wrong - and not for the first time. Online shopping is a blessing for many different reasons especially those who are elderly or mobility disabled but when it goes wrong - it goes very wrong! 😭
I've stopped taking parcels in for my neighbours as one of them knocked on my door with a card from DPD saying they'd left a parcel at my address. I was at home all day and took in two parcels from Royal Mail for a different neighbour but no DPD driver knocked on my door that day. The feeling I got from the guy with the DPD card was that I was somehow lying even though I've taken quite a few parcels in for him and his wife over the last couple of years and I did take one in for him after he came with the card. It has been playing on my mind that I feel guilty about his missing parcel, why should I feel guilty for trying to do someone a favour?
I've had the same problem with royal mail parcel,claiming that I wasn't home ,what they did was just put their card in my letter box without knocking the door or ringing the door bell and walking off the card would say they will make another attempt another day and the same thing would happen instead of knocking the door or ringing the door bell they would just push another card through the letter box saying they have missed me when I've been home on both times then I would try ringing them up and getting nowhere until I threatened them with the police and all of a sudden my parcel was found and delivered promptly
Amazon customer service used to be pretty good, but this happened to me and they weren’t interested making me jump through hoops before they’d give me a refund.
Twice it's happened to me, I received a message that they attempted to deliver the package but WASN'T IN, when I'm frikkin disabled and was IN! They basically didn't press the Intercom system and walked away from my home with my Packages, DPD are not to be trusted at all!!!!🤬👎
Amazon has made it a nightmare to get a replacement or refund of the undelivered post. Telling you, too, wait for items to see if they turn up. Despite the system saying they've been delivered. Which I can understand if a delivery is late. But not when it clearly states that the item has been delivered, along with a photo of the location of where it was supposedly left.
Yep, the same. Parcel marked delivered and the picture was just of our driveway and had been taken from the van, didn't even get out! Evri didn't care, just said we would have to claim from the sender.... It was a big box of cat food
If it isn't a picture of them handing it to you in your doorway, it isn't good enough. There are some cases where the driver is behind schedule or just wants to get home but has to meet a delivery attempts target so they claim you weren't in and the parcel may come the next day, or after that. I had this so much from one driver that I started putting different things on the door every day - because he kept posting an old photo of my door saying I wasn't in. After sending that evidence to the delivery company he delivered it the very next day but just knocked and ran.
A decent RING Doorbell Intercom is like £two hundred quid plus installation. An expense purely down to the government for causing the trashing our Homeland.
I had ordered a Sage multi oven from Amazon along with a couple of other items that were being delivered. I have the app on my phone and they sent me a code number that I had to give to the driver on delivery. I knew he was at my address because I was looking out for him, he got out of the van put the other small items on my doorstep took a photo of them with a large cardboard box next to them with nothing in it, he started walking back to his van ready to drive off, I shouted to him “where’s my other item” he looked sheepish and got it out of the van. He knew what it was as the brown box had a Sage sticker on it. I’m thinking they must have someone on the inside giving them the code numbers that they send out to customers.
No its impossible to do that as I used to deliver for them and the only person who has the 6 digit code is the customer. The driver would not know the code. Not sure what the motives were but hope you contacted Support about this incident. There is always a few bad apples in every organisation but I know lots of good drivers who do their very best to make everything gets delivered.
EVRI and YODEL are bad for this where i live. I regularly buy vinyl online and its obvious to drivers what it is and ive had a few "delivered" but ive never received them.
What I have experienced is that you get a picture taken of a parcel halfway through your letterbox as proof of delivery. I was actually in at the time and there was no parcel that landed inside the house. They just take it back out of the letterbox and keep it. Taking a pic of a parcel in your letterbox isnt proof of delivery. Its just a pic of the parcel halfway un your letterbox.
@@ianrouse3032 No mate, I always try the local shops first to try to support the community but I usually have to resort to the internet because they never seem to have what I'm looking for. Take Wilko's for example, for the last 18 months they were still trading my local store had nothing but empty shelves and that wasn't down to the internet, it was down to bad management. Wilko's was the place that if you needed something in a hurry then they had it until they dropped the ball.
DX and Evri are known for this. I think there's organised crime gangs involved in this now. I always check who'll be delivering before I place an order, and never buy from a business online, where their courier of choice is widely known for goods loses/theft.
Another little wheeze thats going around, in your email, you get a note saying "we were unable to deliver your parcel today as no one answered the door, please pay 99p re delivery charge ..... " so you use your card to pay the charge and ........ your account gets emptied, down to the last penny.
Recently my son had to sign for a parcel, from Amazon, (it was a phone) and the parcel was empty,he contacted the company and they sent out another one.
Yes I get loads off those messages/emails saying address not viable or package damaged when in fact I havnt ordered anything for many months and theyr always from Royal mail and costs to rearrange delivery.. Scam..
Sorry to hear about that. I'm sure this goes on a lot. I once ordered a pair of headphones and when it was delivered, by another courier, it contained two tins of tuna fish instead! It had obviously been opened en route by someone and repacked. Did you click on where it says Complaints Charter? If you do that, another page opens up with various options to contact the courier you mentioned. I saw a phone number too.
It’s not on is it. We had something delivered, we were in. They didn’t even ring the bell. Luckily I checked my phone a couple of hours later to see it was delivered. Luckily it was still there. Anyone passing on the street could have took it. I am seriously thinking of getting a ring door bell.
I had a parcel delivered to my home and the photo showed it next to some dustbins, I live on the first floor of an apartment, the note said 'Parcel left in the garden' I don't have a garden 😅

A photo of a building is NOT proof of delivery!!!...the delivery drivers are supposed to take photo of item in an OPEN doorway!!!!...if I was they're boss they would be held accountable, and I would NOT lose any money!!!....ffs, not rocket science!!!
