The sparkle distractions that put you on a rant of useless information is and always will be a welcome talent. Thank you for all your hard work and insider info. Love your show.
I feel like manufacturers FINALLY moved on from the 70s camper interiors. Nice tile, furniture, a door window you can see out of and a tall window bedside/couchside. Can we assume the one RV interior designer in the industry recently retired 😂. Loving it!
With the exception of the fart fans and the camp queen bed, this seems a great coach. I particularly love the long counter I would prefer a non-slide version. I'm glad more manufacturers are using the Furion open both ways knockoff. For that corner, the perfect appliances for me could be a high quality toaster oven, blender or electric griddle.
Love it! Love the counter space, coffee pot AND air fryer in that cubbie. Change out the tv bracket to one that will angle down when pulled out. Don’t care more the Murphy bed.
I love this Floorplan. Myself, I prefer the slide, but since there is room with the slide in, I can see where some would prefer no slide, then you wouldn't have to keep up with the slide maintenance. I would put a coffee maker, and either an Instant Pot or Crock Pot in the cubbie, which I love. I agree with updating the fans to larger sizes. I would like to see Jayco use the Bluetooth portable speaker instead of the speakers outside that are up high. For a couples camper, this works wonderfully. Thanks for staying up late for the videos.
Oh man it's perfection. PLEASE NIX the Murphy bed and give us a true queen. Damn I hate to keep repeating this but Jayco, everything you do right is 💯. The hard to find things that are wrong are complete deal breakers 💯
I like the hide away bed as long as it's comfortable to sleep on not giving up any matrass quality. It just takes up room when not using it, and keeps it cleaner away from kids, and pets that might be running around outside in the dirt.
So many things about this layout that hit so many points for a couples light travel trailer for me. I really love the combined decor package it is perfect for my decor tastes. I would do a no slide in this over a slide.
We bought our 2022 Rockwood 2204S from a couple who said it had way too much storage for them!! We have had it 6 months and have found it to be the perfect trailer for us. Thanks, Josh, and thanks, Rockwood.
Love the kitchen, it is nicer than the one at home. Not a big fan of slides, but if you have one, you must have 3 windows. I could happily live in this one. Good job, Jayco
Thanks for the videos Josh! We've been watching for a couple years knowing we wanted to get into the RV world. This floorplan is our favorite for a starter. It's so great to be able to look at our favorites -- this one, the Imagine, and the Jayflight, side by side in your videos. Your videos are second to none. You've got the camera work, content, and mix of information and personality nailed.
I don't know if this would work. Roll a towel up real tight and stick front to rear in the bathroom cubby. Then put your bathroom bottles behind it. The rolled towel length needs to be long enough it's compressed in the cubby. Give it a try Josh, and include it in a video if it works.
Great trailer. Good weight. Good refrigerator. Interior looks good. I like the kitchen and theather seats. Murphy bed is good, but it would be better is it was not a folding mattress. It definitely needs a hitch for a bike rack and/or generator.
Yeah. I’d really like to see the dinette. I need to be able to work on the road and having the dinette to set up my computer on would be perfect. Then I wouldn’t mind putting the Murphy bed up and down. But that kitchen!!!! OMG!!!!
Josh, another Awesome design, this time from Jay Feather! We have talked in the past about my 2004 Zeppelin181 with this same floor plan and how fantastic it is for couples, and, easy to tow. I am so glad to see manufacturers catching on to this wonderfully efficient design and features, both inside and out. Keep up your great work 😎
I love this floor plan! I can't dislike anything in this one. The bendy bed maybe but that for me would be nitpicking. I really want this one for my next TT.
Hi Josh! Great video! I really like this one being small like it is. I love the shower door. Love the Murphy bed. Love the counter tops. Love the theater seats. Thank you Josh!
Your suggestion for a slide-less model is inspired. I remain skeptical about the comfort of a Murphy bed and woinder if their are "bendy bed" options that might, at least, upgrade the comfort level. I like what Jayco has done here and would definitely consider it as a replacement for our 212. Plus, the Beatle's trivia was worthwhile.
My second favorite trailer. I wish it had drawers around the bed like GD, but otherwise I would be happy with it and I do like the vintage decor. When I am ready to buy, I certainly will be comparing the two. Thanks Josh, I really appreciate your honesty and sharing the good with the bad. I also like the outside decor and large awning and appreciate the solar being part of the package. I think it's time for all manufacturers to include it.
What a great design! It is really pleasant to the eye, and everything looks very symmetrical and functional! I think my favorite feature is that long countertop, although I also really liked the seating with the writing/eating/work tables right next to each other, and the hidden table!! I would put a crock pot in the corner. Really enjoyed your presentation! Squirrel! 😅 BTW, Myles told me about your channel. 🙌 🙂👋👍👍
A no slide version would be great! I feel they could get the weight down quite a bit pulling out the slide. No slide would probably make more sense with the small two seater style dinette or counter/stool combo, and TV on the wall to the bathroom across from the murphy couch.
I like the placement of furnace/water heater. I almost think there should be a no-slide version; to increase CCC, reduce complexity and have fewer opportunity for leaks. It would be nice to have leveling jacks instead of stabilizers. And , I dream, of a front window
Squirrel, I love it! The kitchen is amazing. All of that storage in that small of a camper is almost too much to ask for, especially the kitchen. The more I look at this camper, the more possibilites I see...when traveling, no sitting on the seating if the slide is in, but with the other couch, wallah, comfy seating. Love being able to access everything with the slide in, and being able to leave the bed down. Negatives for me is the solid steps, would rather have folding. This oven looks smaller than the oven in our 2015 rockwood 2109s.
I DO love most everything in this trailer. The only thing I noticed was there is no bumper hitch on the back of the trailer which I would like to see, but is not a deal breaker. What I love is the layout of the kitchen and large prep speace. Love the corner space as well and would make it a coffee/tea bar.
Those rear hitches are handy but also require bulking up the rear chassis plus the hitch. They quickly add more cost and weight But sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze
That kitchen is amazing, and the theater seating is sharp. I like the pop up outlets in the counter. The top of the bed could be covered with a small curtain on a tension rod. The bathroom could be a deal breaker. My husband is a larger guy, and that wouldn’t be comfortable for either of us.
I LOVE this rig. But Jayco needs to option a dinette, period. I exchanged emails with Jayco about this floorplan about a week ago, they confirmed no dinette option. Also, really hoping Jayco and other major brands start making ABS standard. I believe GD is already moving that direction. Honestly, it's a microcosm of the towables market that ABS is only being introduced in 2023
I like this trailer, and the Murphy bed is always a winner for me. The interior colors are bright , after campfire time, this is a nice comfortable couch to watch some TV before bedtime. Solar is very important for my use, and I would add another panel. I may have missed it, but on demand hot water would be great. Like the slide, don't need an oven.
Your squirrel moments make an otherwise humdrum rv tour entertaining. Keep it up! BTW - love the long counters and spacious interior for such a small trailer.
I would like to see the TV down into a lift station with a fire place in front of it, and add a cabinet where the TV was. This would be a great TT to put some miles down in a small space and easy towing.
Like the decor. Love the road mode, Yes need the slide. Good counter layout. Glad to see a unit without the front window. the jaysmart lighting would be nice....I have always added my own anyway.
Okay, for the cubby I would put a bread box over there. Just kidding. Perfect place for appliances like air fryer. Coffee pot would probably be closer to sink or even closer to the door (when coffee is being made) so you can grab a cup and sit outside and watch the world wake up. I really like this and I did not think the bed was going to work with the slide in. That's definitely a huge bonus. I could see a version of this with the theater seating and no slide definitely. I am not sure I would choose the non-slide model but I would have to see both in person to really decide. The weight savings would be great for towing. The best scenario would be for a slide and non-slide model. If one doesn't sell, they can always stop making it but I think there is definitely enough interest for both. Such a great couple's camper for sure!!!
The man trailer it is easy to clean comes with a dish washer and a washer machine and a rumba to clean the floors , and has microwave and a self cleaning oven and stove top burner that is self cleaning. It comes with a steaming shower so you can take a steam bath or a shower with steam kind like a built in sauna in the shower. No bunks and a full queen size bed that is in its own room. Jacks come down and level out the trailer on its own. and it has a computer desk or writing desk. and a place fro rifles and fishing rods and a out side shower and outside cooking center with a sink. And a full size freezer and refrigerator that the door open up from both ways. and no round sinks at all.
As the owner of a 2023 173MRB, I envy the miles of countertop. I like this layout a lot, but it would be within the safety margin of my towing capacity. Might be able to tow a no slide version. Standardizing solar is great too, but Jay Feather is still a step behind Rockwood E-Pro/G-Pro with standard solar and inverter (and tank heaters and Shower Miser).
Thanks for the review. This is well done, but makes me scratch my head in a few places. The large window over the sink is great, but why couldn't they make the front window the same size? Also, the hard corner on the counter top is going to cause an enormous amount of pain for people who run into it. A 1" radius there would make it much safer. Not a fan of the amount of toilet access. Recessing the base cabinet below the sink level would have given more comfort for the poor pooper.
Kitchen counter back corner would be a GREAT spot for a dishwasher. I havent watched one of your reviews in a few years, when did you switch Dealerships, thought you worked for your parents...?
I would like to loose the countertop to the left of the kitchen sink (yes, I said less counter top) and see a fireplace/tv/hidden pantry instead. Then it would be perfect!
Who does like pop song trivia? Or at least from 70&80's!.. I like the fact there's Dbl Azdel walls in this unit.. And more solar! Like someone else mentioned, this is not your 70s style camper. I'd change the seating to a hideaway...
We appreciate you burning the midnight oil. Love this floorpan. 21MML is\was my favorite. Now 19MRK is tied for the top spot. 21MML jr. Would like to see a no slide version with the theater seating. Complete with Televator or under the cabinet swing down TV. Must avoid neck strain.
Beautiful cabinets & layout. Love the table that is hidden in the couch. The only big issue with this is the bed. If the bed didn't need to be folded then u could just use a regular/better mattress & just lift the bed out of the way. Jayco is definetly on my list of campers to buy.
I LOVE this camper. A slide is a must for us. Had a small TT w/o slide and with two of us and 2 dogs, we constantly were in each others way. The two seating areas are a must, as my husband likes to lie down and I like to sit comfortably. It also allows for visitors to not have to sit on the end of a bed! Agree the height should be taller; maybe a rounded ceiling? The bathroom is too small, if the trailer was even 1' longer, I think it would help, or perhaps make the bathroom across the backend, and move fridge. The design and colors are what i have wanted for so long! See ya, brown interior! 😊 The drop down TV mount is a great idea, and maybe the top of the bottom cabinet could be a fireplace. It could use more clothing storage and definitely would like the addition of a cubby on each side of the bed, to make up for the super small nightstands. Thanks so much for all that you do!
This one is a winner! The fact that it uses double Azdel and they have windows on both sides of the bed. That's a plus over the GD 17mke. One dislike... the short queen, but we have one now so it's not a deal breaker. FYI, there's a place call Mattress Insider that make just about any kind of mattress you could want including a much nicer bendy bed.
Love the 17MKE floorplan with the theater seating and Murphy bed, the TV, the shower door, the standard solar package, huge awning and attached ladder👍the only real downer was the cheap plastic toilet and Dollar Store 4” bathroom fart fan😢
as a single man i love this...... i would not actually change anything but one very weird thing that i am sure noone mentioned or thought of i do not think, is good as it is, seating, tv location good for all seats etc. good bed..... which leads me to my first idea....... this does not really require any changes, but one would make it better.... a sofa that folds out to make a little bit larger bed, oddly enough...... here is why, sometimes i can see someone (me) being to lazy tired, or possibly hammered (camping trip afterall) to feel like getting the bed down, just plop sofa out, drop and pass out hehe (my late teens and 20s was not that uncommon) or quick road stop nap..... but, since that can be done, sofa that somehow folds out to full bed on its own would allow the customer 2 options, either keep bed system as it is, use as intended.... OR.... you could now remove the mattress completely, use that murphy bed area for nothing but storage of whatever dont need too very often, like a hidden closet of sorts, maybe with fold down shelves even, and just use the sofa as the main bed. ... or you could switch back and forth depending on what kind of trip you are doing with who etc. nice bed for one trip, place to put more hunting gear for the next, put the real bed back in for going on ski trip with your wife after that. either or. seems to be a way to give that space multiple uses. assuming you have a place to store the mattress when you do not want it in the rv. shed or garage or something.... this would not require any actual changes to anything, just adding a few foldable shelves IN the murphy bed area on back wall, that the murphy door with no mattress could close right up to in order to keep things on those shelves when closed. may be useful anyway for someone who leave normal bed down all the time as well. this is something the end user could probably do, depends on construction etc. dont know off hand. far as the bathroom being where it is, LOL... i would not change it, it has to be there, totally acceptable... but i do laugh every time i see this set up, someone taking a dump literally 2 feet away from the cooking dinner lol.... reminds me of the time back in my 20s everytime i see it..... we went camping in the desert, forgot to bring firewood, and had no axes or anything like that, we found this old wooden outhouse, who we happened to know who built it like 20 years earlier, knew they nor anyone else involved in that party group was ever coming back, county was going to remove it soon anyway in the normal desert clean up thing they was doing in area.... so we use what we had, and took it apart and made usable firewood out of it..... using random projectile launchers to accomplish the task over the course of about an hour or so.... chunks of lead of various sizes repeatedly during the afternoon did the trick... made a fire as dusk coming, started cooking our steaks etc..... .... hmm this fire stinks.. wtf? this steak tastes like crap........ our dumb drunk asses forgot that we were cooking over 25 year old outhouse wood.... lets just say those steaks were far from gourmet...... i think of that every single time i see a toilet right by the stove in an rv.... i can just imagine the mix of oders of steak cooking and turds dropping at the exact same time plop plop sizzle sizzle all at once both aromas cooking together in the air. hehehe... our stupidity back when young is what gave us the immune systems we have now lol. but that is how it has to be, certainly not a complaint, i like the bathroom right where it is and how it is. no choice, best spot. excellent unit.
Always appreciate your feedback and perspective. So much of RVing is couples/families SOLO RVers are a very real thing and you see stuff differently. It helps me have an open mind
A dinette is a MUST for me. Not a Din-ofa. And I hate the entertainment center where it is across from the dinette in the slide and not the Murphy sofa. Not to mention, the Murphy sofa sucks as a sofa. No full recliner ability. My solution. Keep the theater seat in the slide across from the ent center and design a Murphy dinette. Anyone else like that idea?
I to like drawers instead cubicles in bath for towels. Otherwise I love everything else. GREAT 👍. Good to see, outside kit.myhubby would like single black tank!!😂 perfect size for couple only. 😊
I like most everything about this camper. I would prefer the dinette version. But not a fan of all the new rv interior of white and like stained wood look. I know that what's popular now, but i like the cabinbfeel of wood.
It's sharp. Two things I would do. One, those two theatre seats with a small end table, I saw on another one that in that space instead was a 3 piece sofa, and the center piece you could put the back down making it an armrest with cupholders. I'd get that one b/c it can also be a guest bed. And two, on the top it looks like there is more space for more solar panels, so I would maximize the space's use of solar panels up there, I'm guessing but it looked to me like you could add two smaller ones, each about half the size of the rectangular one, effectively doubling the solar generation capacity, that would be useful. All in all, this is a great little rv. I have been considering an overland setup when I get one of the F150's in 2025, but seeing this, I am going to consider this now too. I suspect a full size F150 Platinum would tow this easily. Since I am considering a full size GMC Yukon Denali or Yukon AT4 suv, I hope they would tow this easily too. At one point I was considering an Audi Q8, which I think has a 7k or 7.5k lbs towing capacity, maybe even that would work. Very nice! Did I hear correctly, that is not a full Queen size mattress? If not, how is it different, length, width, both? And did I hear you say, can you fit a full Queen size mattress there and still have the murphy bed close up? I'm 6' 2 1/2" tall, that would be useful to me, not to mention being able to use an actual Queen fitted sheet rather than two flats. I wouldn't want an attachable grill. I prefer to keep my grilling further away from the rv so as to avoid staining and adding smells to the rv and the canvas sun shade. Just cleaner and nicer that way.
@@JoshtheRVNerd What I would love to see is the 22BH front and middle section, but do an East to West twin bunk rear with a walk through bathroom between the dining and bunk room. Gives you two private rooms while keeping the unit short and light.
@@JoshtheRVNerd osh, This RV vs the 17MKE from GD... I think I've got it down between these 2 and at the tampa show, I've learned this RV has vacuumed bonded walls, double sided azdel, a 2/3 warranty and plywood instead of OSB vs the GD has OSB, no azdel, a 1/3 warranty... which to you is the better of the 2?
