This is my choice for RV life. I love the quality. The tow capacity is great to fit my needs. Jayco nails this RV under 30 feet. I love the Black package! Retiring soon. Watch out road..here I come!❤😊
I have been looking at RV towables for YEARS. I've watched this video three times and I can honestly say I don't find anything wrong with it except the TV and I don't like those chairs. If I could afford it and not have to buy a truck I would buy that in a heartbeat. But in my case I would live in it. And you are absolutely right about the hanging rod.
Hello, ok first off jayco here needs to explain why they can put a splatter guard here by the stovetop but can't do the same on towables. My dad had motorhomes, I have had motorhomes...what would worry me with this one is its on an e350 or e350 chassis, basically a 1 ton van chassis but they are hanging both slides, which are heavy, off the same side of the rv...Thats a LOT of weight, then add people sitting in those slides. Rv's with offset slides, ( on each side) balance out better both in road mode traveling as well as at a campsite. The huge benefits to a motorhomes over a towables are obvious: family not cooped up in a pickup cab, more relaxed family travel atmosphere, rv already cool or warm when u stop for the nite, etc. Downsides: can't unhook and go into town while separated from ur rv unless u tow a vehicle behind...and like me and everyone else Im sure, not good for mechanical engines/transmissions/gas/diesel to sit for long periods of time when not in use. Overall its a nice unit, but way too pricey for the average lunchbox jack and secretary Jill and their kids to afford for just a few times a year of travel. As usual, nice informative presentation, Sir. Thank You.
12v compressor IF the pantry stays. Personal pref.: Stock colour. Yay F/R stabilizer bars + balanced driveshaft. Love those rearview mirrors. Love the height of all the exterior storage, even like the drop down doors. Very, very nice interior: layout, fit & finish - size of bathroom would be a problem for larger folk. TV position weak, but imagination and skills could fix that. So much storage space, wow. Dinette table has wall bracket, love, love, love. Big engine + curb weight = LotsaGas (be aware). Overall great design and execution. Very tempting. Great review, Josh! Thanks.
A 12v "10 cu ft" compressor fridge is exactly the same outside dimensions as the "8 cu ft" gas/electric fridge. That's because the propane lines take up so much room in the gas/electric models. So if they offered a 10 cu ft 12v fridge it would not eat into the pantry at all. You'd get more fridge space, keep the pantry, and not have to burn propane when driving down the road because the fridge would be powered by the coach alternator. I don't really understand why gas/electric fridges are still standard equipment on so many RVs. I understand keeping them as an option for those that prefer them, but for the vast majority of RVers the 12v compressor fridge is the better option. The only advantage the gas/electric has is boon-docking, and even that advantage is slim: Sure you can run a gas/electric on propane for several days on a propane tank. But then you *have* to physically go fill that tank. And on a motorhome you can't just take the tank and run to a gas station and exchange it: You have to physically pack up the camper, drive the entire rig to a filling station and have it filled. Where as with the 12v compressor fridge: a couple solar panels on the roof will let you run that fridge indefinitely, or just start the coach (or generator) for a couple hours every day to keep the batteries charged. So even without solar: You *can* easily go get gasoline to refill the coach or generator fuel tanks without having to move the coach, which is why I hate using propane. When you run out it's a PITA to get it refilled, especially on motor homes where the tanks are permanently attached and you have to drive the entire rig to a special filling station to get it refilled.
You actually took the time to spin one of those chairs around. No one else hardly ever does that in reviews. It's a lot of work, based on recent first hand experience. Thanks lol.
Thanks for noticing. I try to always do a little more. Storage. Road mode. Chairs. If I was spending this kind of money then I would want to see everything. So why not show it? Someone might spend over $100,000 on this. If someone wasn’t willing to show me _a chair_ then I wouldn’t want to buy from them
There is nothing that I don’t like about this motorhome. Jayco makes a quality product all the way around. I’d save the $$ and stick with the standard non paint package. While a 12V fridge would be great with the solar package, I’d likely stick with the gas/electric and be able to have the pantry next to it. While I’m no fan of the bendy bed, it is what it is and acceptable. Same with the tv position. Really glad to see you showcase a motorhome. Hope you will do more of them. Camper floor plans are all so similar and a motorhome thrown into the mix every now and then is great! Thanks, Nerd!
Nerdherd here. Love to see you doing a Class C. 12 volt fridge and a better TV placement would be my recommendation. The bendy bed is a no go for me , but not much you can do with this floorplan. Please do some more Class C reviews. Your the best.
Own the entegra etseem bunkhouse model 31F. The TV location is fine, we like the sofa vs theater seating. Like the 12 cuft refrigerator vs 12v one. If they do change to 12v refrigerator, please increase solar system to 400-600 watts and install lithium batteries. Our 190watt standard panel with lead batteries can’t keep up during dry camping. Overhead bunk get too hot, needs better ventilation to that area with that front window. Taking ours out tomorrow for a nine day trip during kids spring break.
Tv placement is always a deal breaker. However, if Jayco includes the feet for the tv, it could be placed on the table while stationary. Otherwise I love it.
Here’s my 2 cents, I’m a traveling worker and I believe it’s gonna be way of companies. They can’t get workers,,skilled. So rv’s are they to stay when on the road. We want a good kitchen and storage and room for bike, 4wheel. We don’t need a tv where storage cabinets can go! If I’m not working I’m outside . Plus nothing on TV, u can stream movies on phone or computer!
🎉😂❤I want this 1 it's convenient for me because it has everything I need😂❤I'm a Class C fan & would love it knowing I always will have a place to lay my head wherever I decide..😂❤😂❤😂❤❤❤❤
12v frig. The clothes hanger in the closet is no big deal. The overall layout is good, but I bet it's got a huge price tag to match. One other thing I'd want is more solar, so the generator would be a backup system only.
@@JoshtheRVNerd My husband decided he wants a motor home instead of a trailer. He hasn't got towing experience. I'm to the point if I can't have an Ember then a class C is it. If Ember ever did make a class C I'd be all over that in a heart beat.😆😉
I would choose the 12v fridge. Just like the idea of not having to deal with propane. I do have a suggestion for you to take back to Jayco. Please tell them to stop putting mirrors everywhere. They are just horrible on closet doors in any kind of RV.
I like the motorhome and the floorplan. However, I wish they would have put the TV over the dinette like you see in other models. Great review, and thank you. I also want the 12 volt refrigerator.
Thanks for this review Josh! As I said we were on the fence between the Entegra 27U and 26M. Went with the 26M as Murphy bed and kitchen lay out left us with more open space ( 2 humans and 4 dogs 😳). Love the rear bath and fireplace for those foul weather days. The fridge is my only main dislike and wish it was a 12V. Picking her up this Thursday so will let you know how it is going! Cheers, Barret
I've never cared for the TV location in most Class C RVs. I would rather see a slightly smaller dinette and a televator or the two window with TV wall between them. I haven't heard of Ford lowering the torque spec on the 7.3L engine. They have made multiple versions from the beginning. For F Series trucks one with 350 HP, 468 ft-lbs @ 3900 RPM and the another with 430 HP, 475 ft-lbs @ 4000 RPM. The F450 up are standard with the lower spec'ed version. The higher output engine is an option in the F250 and F350. The F Series trucks are mated to a 10-speed transmission until you get to the F750 and up. I think the E450 cutaway has what Ford is calling their economy-rated calibration which is 325 HP, 450 ft-lbs @3800 RPM. The E450 is mated with a 6-speed transmission so that might have some effect on the lower specs. I think that "economy" in the engine tuning is the key. RV manufacturers were looking for a particular price point so Ford gave it to them. Specs might have changed since I last was looking into the 7.3L but I think the relationships between engine versions should still hold. I'm still waiting to see what comes of Ford's 7.3L turbo project (though there are aftermarket turbo kits). #nerdherd
Just curious why is Jayco using a black AC cover when a white would help cool better. I was considering painting mine white to help during the hot summer out in Southern California.🔥
I like the refrigerator that’s in there. I guess I’m just old school. That way. All four of my Motorhomes have had that kind of unit. A closet rod should have been installed in the closet. Overall a nice unit. I don’t really like the folding bed, but I would take that over a corner bed any day.!! And there’s so many other places to sleep if you need to do a power nap.
I like this coach. The TV is a definite zero and not a fan of folding beds. If it's a go and stay put trip, no big deal. If it's a road trip with many stops, that's a pain remaking the bed. I like the closed dtorage.😊
I prefer the gas/electric fridge with pantry. My biggest desires on a motorhome are recliners and a designated pantry. If I could find a floorplan with both of those and no slides, I’d be sold. Also, I like my partner and we like to snuggle, so a queen size bed is plenty. I don’t understand this obsession with king size beds. 🤷🏼♀️
A 12v fridge and a hanging rod in rear closet would make this better. And a larger tv…maybe one large one at the booth table would make sense. An option for a couch bed instead of recliners too. 😊
We can definitely picture ourselves in this! Personally, I think a galley kitchen like this one is the most efficient. Hubby would add a bar to the closet. I’d prefer a 12v refrigerator, but would hate to lose the pantry. Btw: you’re too young to remember when SNL was funny but you’re right 😂
My entertainment chops are old for my age. I’ve watched every episode of SNL up to the 2000’s era and fell off about then… even thru the 80’s when the show was terrible before Eddie Murphy basically saved it
I love I can stop and go to the back and not step foot outside. I can put my groceries away, take a rest then jump in the driver's seat and move on. I definitely feel more secure knowing if there is any problems I can jump in the driver's seat and change locations at any time. No one knows if there are one or 5 people inside. I removed my gas electric fridge and put in a chest type fridge with the doors in the top. The amount of storage space increased immensely doing that. Factory fridge takes up a lot of space plus no vent needed outside or on the roof. I then have the plug available so I can easy switch it to solar while driving. I use portable panels and solar generators for almost everything. I never use my gas generator and would love if it was not even on board. I have limitations as I don't like to tow so my travels to grocery or sight seeing can be limited and definitely planned in advance. If staying in one spot for weeks it normally takes me less then an hour to do my walk around plus doing my securing check list inside. Normally if I'm on the go it takes me less then 15 min to be on the road. Yes love my motorhome 😍
Reminder #nerdherd, the “true” tow rating of a motorhome (or pickup) is GCWR - GVWR. Also, you must have room for your hitch weight in your tow vehicle’s available payload. Max payload = GVWR - Curb weight.
Bought a 2022 loaded Greyhawk 27U last March in San Diego! My wife and I came from 20years in a huge triple axle toy hauler. It's an awesome motorhome and we've spent over 60 days camping so far. Ours came with a clothing wood rod in the big mirrored cabinet by the bathroom door... maybe the factory forgot to mount in yours. Also from what I heard Ford detuned the 7.3 Godzilla because of limited cooling of the E450 chassis, Compared to the F Series trucks. Once I'm out of the Ford factory warranty I'll have the horsepower brought back with a 5 star tune. We tow a flat tow a 5100lb full size Mid Roof (148" wheelbase) Ford Transit Van with dirt bikes loaded inside. I also installed a front hitch so I can carry two dirt bikes on Joe haulers (front and back) when not pulling the TOAD. We're glad Jayco didn't only added the front cap window until this year(why we didn't buy entegra) because they are a leak point and the powered shade fails often. Thanks for your detailed reviews and general RV information...it helped us alot the year or so before we bought the Jayco!
Always nice to see a motorhome, and a Jayco is even better. As far as the fridge, I HAVE to have the two-way fridge. I am not one that likes RV parks, and don't want to have to rely on "hookups" to keep my food cold. Most of the Nat'l Forest and CCE parks don't have "hookups" and those underwhelming batteries that come with most Rigs aren't going to run the whole Rig no matter how many Solar Panels you have. I'm a Midwest guy too, but I travel to the 4 corners of this great nation of ours. I just don't like the picture being painted that the combination of a all electric fridge and a led acid battery and a 200w Solar panel is the makings of a fun filled outing, unless you're just heading to a RV park with electric. Thanks for asking for our input, "Nerd" always a loyal watcher
Wow... What a beauty! And yes, you'd have to bring a set of bicycles or E-Bikes along for local side trips. That's the only hiccup with motor homes - once you're set-up you're tied to your camp site. On the other hand, this is a nice model for those nomad van-lifer types who enjoy just hanging-out where they land for awhile :) (Tight butt adequate... 🤭!)
That’s why when people come in and see if they wanna motorhome so I don’t have to tell anything. I often have to burst her bubble, but I know you usually need to bring a car otherwise you’re kind of stuck.
The theater seating is a great upgrade over a jackknife sofa but the TV position is unwatchable😢there should also be a sofa option to the dinette and a 12V fridge with “standard” 400 watts of solar👍the plastic toilet and 4” fart fan is unacceptable at this price point 👎
12 volt fridge for sure. Also, don’t have theater seats if you don’t provide theater viewing! When’s the last time you went to a movie and had to crank your head 40 degrees to see the screen?!? Mount the TV over the table. P.S. you make reviews look so easy, but in watching others, I know it’s not. You do an awesome job!
Awesome video as always. Very nice motor home. Roll down blinds are over rated. They make tons of noise when down and while driving. We like our window treatments down while in traveling to keep out the sun and heat. I would prefer the 12v fridge.
I have the Entegra version of this. Love floor plan but not happy about weak cabinet and drawer latches. By now one would think RV industry would have this resolved! Also seats in front are supposed to swivel but seat design/ framework for cab/bed do not allow sets to swivel.....
Yes on the 12v fridge. Definitely need a hanging rod in the bedroom. Definitely like the dark paint, but I'd probably take a pass based on the extra $$$. And I'd like a gallon of whatever you were drinking before you shot this one... Great stuff as usual!
With the exception of the front windshield, I really love the front half of the RV. I would prefer the 12v fridge if the panty stays . Dealbreaker for me is the bed . I don’t care, king or queen, regular or short but NO folding beds.
A 12v fridge has my vote. I do not like a window in the front cap or in the front of a travel trailer. It’s just adds a greater possibility for water to get in that I can do without and it costs more to put it in. You had better like the mattress because of the different thickness of the foot section, and the fold, a standard thickness mattress will not work.
Motorized the only way to go. Mush easier to setup and you want a drink or snack while driving no problem, use the potty while driving, no problem. That is a really nice Class C. 12v compressor fridge for sure, no doubt.
I have the Entegra version of the 27u…my thoughts. Yes, 12v compressor fridge is definitely needed. That was the thing that almost prevented me from buying and I did get the 12cuft upgraded fridge; just really hate the absorption style and the time it takes to cool down. I thought the TV placement would bother me, but it really hasn’t been an issue yet. Plus having the outdoor tv and bedroom tv really lessens the need to watch in main area. My kids usually have the front TV for their game systems and I use a different TV if needed. We really haven’t been stuck inside for a long period of time though. Our ‘22 has a curtain rod in the closet; that must either have been removed in 23 or was missed. The foldable bed needs to be redesigned somehow. Very inconvenient for quick overnight stops and impossible to find a good replacement mattress as I’m really not happy with the one it comes with.
One of the better Class C layouts I’ve seen. Love all access in road-mode. But didn’t see hook ups for a TV in the bedroom; that would be a deal-breaker for me. And totally agree about SNL.
Oregon #nerdherd here. We really like this model, TV placement is no biggie to me, although Hubby might think differently. LOL I love the fact that it’s under 32 ft, cuz i have to learn to drive it too.
Thank you for using a regular camera lenses. This is my dream to own a 27U. I love it. I love the pantry so the smaller fridge is fine with me. I thought there was a rod in one of the closets. Wasn’t sure about bathroom size. With the wide angle lens things look bigger. Is there a bedroom door? Tv hookup in the bedroom? The base paint pkg. is good for me. You didn’t show the outdoor water connections. Is there a lock on the gas hole? I love this wonderful rv. I see a road trip in my near future. Thanks.
I’m going to vote for the 12 volt refrigerator and Lithium house battery with a solar package. We boondock here in MT. The tv placement on this one is terrible . Otherwise Josh, you have done an excellent job as always. We’ve watched you for years and you are one of our favorite people to watch.
First I like to mention I appreciate you showing an actual RV instead of a towable trailer because I have no interest in towable trailers at all! Three things I do like 1. the decor or the finishings are all very nice 2. it comes with built in solar very important for me 3. it comes with stadium seating three things I do not like 1. It doesn't have a U-shaped dinette 2. I hate any RV that has a folding bed 3. and you can't use the closet space or most of the storage when the slide out is in major drawback Please note my definition of what I do boondocking is an unfortunate necessity and not being able to use the bed is a big deal so big that I would never even consider buying this is a rarity where I have the luxury of being hooked up. When you can't use more than half of the RV when it's in transit mode it's such an overwhelming downside it's not even worth considering the purchase of this model!!!
I am looking for purchasing a used jayco greyhawk somewhere around 2016-2018 yrs. Also would you recommend any other used quality class c motorhome in the yrs. Thanks
When you’re talking used stuff I don’t even consider the brand in the mix. It’s 100% about ownership TLC at that point and they need to be taken individually
I would like to see a compressor fridge in all RVs I am not a fan of the gas electric fridge. The rod missing from the closet does not bother me fold your clothes and use the shelves. And I love the blue paint job. But I would probably opt for the standard because why spend the money if it is not necessary.
Hate the dinette and slide. First thing the kitchen plumbing is going to break and flood it all, with the slide going in and out! Put a couch or something in dinette place eliminate that slide!
Josh-please pass on to Jayco-definite yes for 12Volt fridge-at least give us the option and tankless water heater!! Otherwise this unit checks all the boxes!!!
Nice rid But wish the tv was across from the theater seating. Wish it came on a dodge chassis 12 volt frig. Hanging rod. Does the bed fold in half or three times? Standard base model. Thanks Josh
This class C ticks a lot of boxes. We would keep the electric/gas refrigerator to keep the pantry space. But the tv mount and bed length are definitely two minuses. Could the tv issue be solved with a different mounting system? Does the infotainment center include a blu ray player? The bed is the same length as the bed in our Micro Mini. We were hoping to go to at least a true queen if we upgraded to something larger.
where we have an engine wired into everything and an active inverter, and a generator, I'd replace the 2-way fridge with a 12vdc unit. The lack of a hanging rod is... It's a weird ommission.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Squirrels!!! AND if "HR" ever comes after you😡they will experience the wrath of THE NERD HERD! 🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬 🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬 We ❤you Uncle Josh!
