As they are NFP organisation they don't have the capacity to give away large sums of money. I think they did a good job at the YMCA to recognise the work done.
My Bucket list is to visit Australia. I was going to be in Australia before Covid hit. Now I do not know if I will live long enough to be able to visit. So I now search for anything I can find about Australia. I really enjoyed watching this show.
@@shae7210 No not yet. It is still on my bucket list. I am now in heart failure after a massive heart attack. It may just be a dream. But as long as I am alive that dream will live on.
The Young Men's Christian Association was founded in London, England, on June 6, 1844, in response to unhealthy social conditions arising in the big cities at the end of the Industrial Revolution (roughly 1750 to 1850). The growth of the railroads and the centralization of commerce and industry brought many rural young men who needed jobs into cities like London. They worked 10 to 12 hours a day, six days a week. Far from home and family, these young men often lived at the workplace. They slept crowded into rooms over the company's shop, a location thought to be safer than London's tenements and streets. Outside the shop, things were bad -- open sewers, pickpockets, thugs, beggars, drunks, lovers for hire, and abandoned children running
@@hoodatman I’m actually listening for the high inflection lately. I only hear it now and then. It reminds me of the show Kath & Kim 😂. Gee I wonder if I do it lol
Of all of the under cover boss shows these YMCA staff all earned their reward by their dedication to the work of the YMCA, They definitely earned their rewards through their hard work.
They do. They get it every month. It's called 'fair wages'. Not like in the USA, where I saw an episode yesterday of a woman, working 60 hours a week and still going bankrupt and losing her only car. And she disliked her work a lot, but stayed, because there was nothing else for her. These people do a great job, earn a fine living and are leading a fulfilled life. The recognition and promotion are excellent rewards.
👍 THUMBS UP for the multi thousands of unpaid volunteers in the world - especially Nick and crew on this occasion. 👎 THUMBS DOWN to the charity bosses in the world, who take £multi thousand$ for salary.
I think what would be a great idea in regards to the graffiti on that whole building would be to get in a good graffiti expert and get them to do a mural on the whole building high enough so someone can’t come along and go over it in the ymca theme, here in Bristol uk when a building has an expert in to have that sort of thing done the other graffiti artists don’t seem to then try n go over it, maybe it’ll work there too?? Just a thought but it’ll save money in the long run and it’ll give local experts in that trade something to do and it’ll brighten up the place as well as detouring other graffiti artists from spoiling it, I’m glad to see that people who’ve been in trouble with the law getting a chance to better themselves, ANYWAY back to video I just thought I’d say what I was thinking before I forgot 😂 Kate 🇬🇧 xxxx
Do not send her to London, the situation here is worse than dire. The homeless population here is over and above. If you send her here, she will go home with a broken heart. She's a nice girl, she doesn't deserve that.
Atleast their bosses aren’t as stingy , the Uk version is full of only selfish ones , I did a critical analysis on this program and the agenda and performativeness towards the working class - please do check out the video televisions agendas against the working class on my channel x
I was a lifeguard at the Y for 5 years. For shit we had to put up with and the training we had over other staff members we didn't get paid nearly as much as we should've. They were decent employers though. Best hope you didn't work in a center in a rich area though. People are extremely self entitled and didn't like me enforcing rules on them. These guys stress safety non stop but we it comes to us enforcing rules they'll always side with an angry patron who is clearly doing something wrong and unsafe. You can't pick and choose.
rockmanpunkman I remember Shane years ago when I did a holiday program, was a total tight arse who made it very difficult for everyone there. Must say the food they put out for kids to eat was probably the worst I have had as a kid on camps. Looking back at it now, I understand the rules in place but how they enforced them wasn't appropriate especially with kids from all walks of life, I won't go into detail because I don't want to put the program down for all the negatives it has shown. I was a high risk youth worker for a couple years once I finished school and it just amplifies my feelings about such conduct.
I think that the graffiti wall was a set up, from a distance it looks a impossible task in order to test a person's character, later when he found out "Chris" would keep working on the wall he let everyone know that they would try a different method, yeah so I think it was always a test to see if someone was a complainer or if they could see the value of the opportunity.
I must say hearing the American one the people have much much much move depth then the Australian people i don't know why guess Australia they treat their people better
@@GaresMusic In the U.S. The YMCA pulled in $6.2 Billion with assets of $11.6 Billon. Australia $340 Million. So you are correct. I had no idea Australia only make sure a small amount of money.
great story but u make heaps money u dont give like americans and canadians undercover boss gives but then u gave many hope and some better positions need more bosses here like you to do this courage there workers i could give so many names need to be done and catch out there managers mostly in the way they talk to there workers as come from a office never experience a real physical job and see how they talk communicate each worker is a must in a business one thing i say without your workers u never be in your position today
Wow, anyone else just skips over till the end of the videos because they are simply disappointing rewards? No bonuses or expensive gifts? Even from the CEO? Reward your workers. Even a dinner for 2.
Best reward is recognition for your hard work. Then a promotion on top of it is an amazing reward. Anyone just in it for the money, is a lousy employee, that doesn't fit in a wonderful organization like this non-profit one. You can't give money away, that's needed to help the next person. The workers are very well rewarded. Your value system is broke.
Mate, you've got to realise that the YMCA uses nearly ALL their profits in order to better aid the young adolescents of tomorrow... Even though they didn't give them huge checks of $100,000... Just appreciate what they do for the kids and teenagers.
removing the wall graffiti by hand was a waste of time, if i was in charge of the job, first it able would it get a water pressure to remove the graffiti or painted it, or by can graffiti removal, work smart not hard
before you watch this video/show im asking u to put ur thinking hats for a sec think about this if this show really is real and a boss is going undercover pretending to be a employee then wouldnt it be suspicious to the real emplyees if the person they just hired was followed around by a camera man the whole time he is working? theres no hidden cameras theres someone following them around while filming the show now keep this in mind while you continue watching the video have a nice day
